The Pineapple Thief's Give It Back is a superb collection that showcases the evolution of the band.

The album features 12 re-recorded and re-worked TPT classics now featuring Gavin Harrison on drums, and with new vocals and guitars from Bruce Soord, new mixing by Soord and Harrison, and mastering by Steve Kitch.

Gavin Harrison explains, "When I first started working with The Pineapple Thief I had only played on the album Your Wilderness, so when the time came to play live I obviously had to approach quite a few songs I didn't know and hadn't played before. Having spent some years in King Crimson (where this challenge was often presented to me), Robert Fripp suggested that you should approach every song as if it were new regardless of when it was written. So with the blessing of The Pineapple Thief, I developed my own take on some of the earlier material. As the tours went by I got curious about their huge back catalogue and found myself listening through and applying the 'old song/new song' process and imagining how I could (sometimes radically) rework them. Initially just for the purposes of finding other songs to play live. However, Bruce encouraged me to go as far out as I wanted (including writing whole new sections) - after all, the original already existed - so why not breathe new life into these earlier songs? This isn't a compilation album or any kind of selected 'best of' record - but rather the tunes that gave me inspiration to rearrange, rework, rewire.'

Echo & The Bunnymen have collected their Peel Sessions recordings from 1979 through 1983 and released them in the U.K. on September 6th. The session tracks were recorded for The John Peel Show on BBC Radio 1 and have been released on a limited basis over the years. This is the first time to collect all of the Peel Sessions from the golden formative era of The Bunnymen.

The post-punk were not alone in attributing success to Peel, whose regular Radio 1 sessions often provided the first major national coverage to bands that would later achieve great notoriety.

Significantly, this collection of 21 tracks are from the very beginning of the bands existence. With little money, the band used them to demo new material. Many of the songs were written due to the fact a Peel session had been booked, not because the show loved the new songs - demonstrating the level of trust, confidence and love they had for the band.According to Echo & The Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant, these recordings could quite simply be some of the most significant in the bands career - "Without John Peel sessions, Echo And The Bunnymen in my opinion, would not exist! It's that simple. The band got so much support from him and John Walters (Peel's producer). Recording a Peel session was essential to the development of our songwriting skills while at the same time giving us amazing exposure and self-belief."

Pink Floyd release a new deluxe box set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their classic 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon.

The album has been newly remastered for this release and the deluxe box set includes both a CD and a gatefold vinyl version. A brand new Dolby Atmos Mix is included, along with the original 5.1 and the hi-res stereo, however these are spread across two blu-rays and a DVD which is an odd thing to do. The Quad mix (included in the 2011 Immersion box) does not feature and the unreleased tracks from that 12-year-old collection (the 1972 'Early Mix' of the album and the extra audio tracks such as demos and the 'The Hard Way' from Household Objects) are also not part of this new package.

The Live at Wembley Empire Pool show (from November 1974) has been newly remastered and is made available on vinyl for the first time. The 50th anniversary deluxe box includes this live performance on vinyl and CD and both of those elements are available separately, with artwork featuring an original 1973 line-drawn cover by George Hardie.

The Dark Side Of The Moon takes the greatest themes of cinematography, TV shows, video games and transforms them into epic and powerful modern metal tracks. The band takes you on a musical quest from the depth of Moria up to the Iron Throne, descending into the inner core of those masterpieces to search and find the beast inside. As every human has a dark side, so has every song. You will hear musical pieces you thought you already knew in a way you wouldn't have thought possible. Like the moon, every song has an unexplored side. This is where the band will be taking you. It all started with a bet between Melissa and Hans. Whoever won would win a dare towards the other. Hans won and challenged Melissa do record with him a metal version of "Jenny Of Oldstones". After hearing that one song, Napalm Records immediately signed the band to do a full album. So the band started the epic quest of transforming the favourite cinematic themes into powerful metal tracks! In addition the album will also have a few songs of their own and making this journey even more magical, some musician friends were invited to join them. Two years after Daft Punk's split in February 2021, comes a reissue of their decade-old final album Random Access Memories in a deluxe version with a nine-track disc bringing together studio outtakes, demos and unreleased tracks. Included are "Horizon" (a ballad released only in the Japanese version at the time), two minutes of vocoder testing by Pharrell Williams for "Lose Yourself to Dance," and two unreleased tracks: "Prime (2012 Unfinished)," which didn't make it to original release, and the soulful "Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo)" featuring Julian Casablancas and The Voidz. (Casablancas would end up on RAM with "Instant Crush.") There's also the delightful "The Writing of Fragments of Time," an eight-minute behind-the-scenes track which puts us in the studio with Daft Punk and producer Todd Edwards as they discuss this "beach road" song, and create it all at once. Thirty-five minutes of bonus material ends with "Touch (2021 Epilogue)," the track composed with their idol Paul Williams, and chosen as the soundtrack for the band's farewell video in 2021. Between 1988 and 2010, composer Hans Zimmer has had a hand in nearly every major action film, whether it's him behind the keys or one of his numerous, Remote Control Productions (formerly known as Media Ventures) protégés like John Powell, Harry Gregson-Williams, or Klaus Badelt. His excellent work on director Christopher Nolan's 2008 international blockbuster The Dark Knight, was disqualified for Oscar consideration due to too many cooks (composers) in the kitchen, a handicap that doesn't apply to Nolan's 2010 follow-up, Inception. Zimmer's signature move, a four- to eight-chord round that builds from a subtle breeze to an F5 tornado, serves as the foundation for Inception's dizzying score, and the addition of Smiths/Cribs guitarist Johnny Marr, who appears on eight of the twelve cuts, dutifully expands the layers of Zimmer's melodies, much like the dream building that occurs onscreen. There are moments that bring to mind Vangelis' moody, jazz-kissed work on Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, but Inception's backbone is pure Zimmer. It's beautiful and heroic, unhinged and unspeakably melancholy, and the finest and most fully realized soundtrack this prolific composer has crafted to date.
