Vultures Vengeance are an upcoming epic metal band in the tradition of Cirith Ungol, Manilla Road and Brocas Helm. They formed in Rome in 2009 and after one demo and two EPs released their first full-length record »The Knightlore« in 2019. The album received encouraging reviews in the underground scene all over the world and is now being followed by »Dust Age«, their debut for High Roller Records.

As mentioned earlier, Vultures Vengeance are widely considered to be an epic metal band, heavily influenced by the sound of Warlord, Brocas Helm, Cirith Ungol, early Manowar or The Lord Weird Slough Feg, and Tony T. Steele doesn't deny this: "I absolutely love all these bands that you mentioned and I can say that they are a heavy influence in my life, but I would call Vultures Vengeance simply a heavy metal band. I think that the word 'epic' only refers to bands who create an 'ancient' atmophere in their music and imagery."

Warhammer 40,000 is a franchise by Games Workshop, and the most popular miniature wargame in the world. The new video game, Space Marine 2 kicks off after the return of Roboute Guilliman, one of the superhuman "Primarch" sons of the Emperor and leader of the Ultramarines, and in the middle of the Imperium's Indomitus Crusade to reclaim lost worlds from its alien enemies, including the Tyranids. In Warhammer 40k's grimdark setting, humanity is locked in constant, impossible wars with many other enemies including Orks, Necrons, and the evil Chaos Gods (including Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle). The Orks, also called Greenskins, are a savage, warlike, green-skinned species of bestial, asexual humanoids who are spread all across the galaxy. They are unique among the intelligent xenos species known to Mankind in that they possess the physiological features of both animals and fungi. They share many physical and cultural features with the dark fantasy Warhammer universe's Orcs (and were initially called "Space Orcs" to distinguish them). Orks are seen by their enemies (pretty much everyone else in the universe) as primitive, barbaric, hyper-violent, and crude, but they are the most successful and widepsread intelligent species in the whole galaxy, outnumbering possibly every other intelligent starfaring species, even Humanity (with the very plausible exception of the Tyranids).

Rhino's 2016 box set The Atlantic Years - In Mono offers vinyl repressings of the seven original studio albums Ray Charles released at Atlantic: Ray Charles (1957), The Great Ray Charles (1957), Yes Indeed! (1958), The Genius of Ray Charles (1959), What'd I Say (1959), The Genius After Hours (1961), and The Genius Sings the Blues (1961). Missing from this set are his two duet albums with Milt Jackson and the live Ray Charles at Newport, great records whose absence isn't necessarily noted because the seven LPs here are all excellent (that said, it does feel odd that the 1954 hit "It Should've Been Me" slipped through the cracks due to the insistence that this features only the long-players). Better still, the remastering of the mono by John Webber contains real punch, clarity, and grit, so this is a fine way to listen to some of the best music of the 20th century.
