Perhaps America's stint at Capitol -- which began with 1979's Silent Letter and wrapped up with 1984's Perspective -- isn't considered by most observers to be as "classic" as the Warner era that preceded it. Winnowed down to the duo of Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley -- Dan Peek departed in 1977, after Harbor -- America moved decidedly into slickly synthesized adult contemporary while on Capitol, a transition that eventually resulted in the 1982 smash hit "You Can Do Magic" and its 1983 Top 40 sequel, "The Border." Classic Album Collection traces this evolution via remastered versions of the group's six albums for the label (the first two each have two bonus tracks of mono single mixes): Silent Letter (1979), Alibi (1980), View from the Ground (1982), Your Move (1983), Perspective (1984), and In Concert (1985). These records have been reissued on CD before, but they've never sounded this smooth, vivid, or rich -- qualities that certainly enhance albums designed to be plush, immersive easy listens. For hardcore fans, the ones who are as curious about the mono single edits as they are about the aural upgrade, it's the remastering that makes this set worthwhile, but anybody with a fondness for supple soft rock would find that these albums are much better than their reputation suggests.

From the release of their first album in 1974, Bad Company were one of the biggest hard rock bands of the '70s. Featuring former members of Free (vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke), Mott the Hoople (guitarist Mick Ralphs), and King Crimson (bassist Boz Burrell), Bad Company's straightforward but swaggering attack earned them a steady run of hits. While Bad Company never released a live album with their classic lineup, Atlantic/Rhino Records has delivered something special for the group's fans. Live: 1977 & 1979 features archival recordings of the Rodgers/Ralphs/Burrell/Kirke lineup, drawn from two different concerts, one in Houston, Texas in May 1977, and the other in London, England in March 1979. (The set also includes a bonus track recorded in Washington, D.C. in June 1979.) The set includes live performances of such favorites as "Feel Like Makin' Love," "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy," "Shooting Star," "Movin' On," "Run with the Pack," and many more.

HOT RATS LIVE! Is an on-stage presentation of the entire 1969 classic Frank Zappa album 'Hot Rats.' The concert took place in Birmingham England in 2019.

Performed in the album running order, replete with improvisational solos, the songs were extremely challenging and this recording is 100% live. So much so, you will probably hear a few mistakes, but c'est la vie, we're human!

Eran Ben Zur's Front Of House mix would have been what the audience heard that night and is exactly what you are hearing as you listen right now.

To my knowledge, my dad never performed two of the songs live at any of his concerts, "Little Umbrellas" and "It Must Be A Camel." I arranged them to match the album as close as possible with my band's instrumentation and they were debuted as live performances on that tour.

Much of the sound design for the live show replicates the identical frequency range of the original album. It's a musical time machine and a wild ride! If you were there then you know this was a labor of love and if you're hearing it for the first time I hope you enjoy the show!
