A fire is burning into the fireplace. this is how we've welcomed into the new Raskasta Joulua Christmas album, "Viides Adventti". Then, a male voice starts singing, accompanied by just a few instruments. A choir, the band and the orchestra then joyfully unite, singing "Gaudate!" which makes the intro even more majestic. "Rakkain Lahjoistani", brilliantly performed by Antti Railio, is soon followed by "Avaruus", sung by Noora Louhimo, with the melody and music covering "Walking in the Air", the notorious Howard Blake song. The superb guitar, played by Erkka Korhonen, gives the songs a heavy vibe, yet very festive, which is not an easy thing to achieve.

The record proceeds with "Kaksi Kynttilaa" featuring Marko Hietala; I could say many positive things about this, but I will describe the rendition of this incredible track as nothing but spectacular. Nailed from top to bottom! The feelings and the atmosphere captured are simply outstanding. If you don't believe in Christmas, you have to absolutely listen to this next song, "Jouluun Uskotaan", flawlessly performed by Pekka Heino. His voice would be able to convince even the more sceptical!

"Viides Adventti" continues to surprise and amaze with Tony Kakko singing "Hiljaisuus", but it's time for a change of pace, I believe. In fact, the next tracks will all include either duets or the whole group effort, starting with "Vinter", with Elize Ryd and Tommy Karevik leading the song. The gentleness of Ryd's voice paired with Karevik's throaty and deep tone is just perfect. What a delightful fresh track is the next one, "Kylla Pukki Tietaa", with JP Leppaluoto and Ilja Jalkanen alternating on vocals. I would make listen to this song to whoever is approaching the metal genre because it is just genius!

And now it's also time for a proper cover, with "Stars" (originally by Hear 'n Aid) with everyone joining in, as well as the late Kimmo Blom. This song is now even more powerful and meaningful than ever. The digital version of this album finishes with "Kehtolaulu", with the same cast as the previous track, but the choir comes back also. This lullaby is the cherry on top of this fantastic record.

Shake Your Money Maker (also stylized as The Black Crowes Present: $hake Your Money Maker[2]) is the debut studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes, released on February 13, 1990 on Def American Recordings. It is the only album by the band to feature guitarist Jeff Cease. The album is named after a classic blues song written by Elmore James. The Black Crowes have played the song live many times over the years, but it is not included on this album.

Shake Your Money Maker peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and two of its singles, "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels", reached No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. "Jealous Again", "Twice As Hard" and "Seeing Things" were also charting singles in the United States. Shake Your Money Maker is the Black Crowes' best selling album, having sold more than 5 million copies.

"The Black Crowes' debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, may borrow heavily from the bluesy hard rock grooves of the Rolling Stones and Faces (plus a bit of classic soul), but the band gets away with it due to sharp songwriting and an ear for strong riffs and chorus melodies, not to mention the gritty, muscular rhythm guitar of Rich Robinson and brother Chris' appropriate vocal swagger. Unlike their later records, the Crowes don't really stretch out and jam that much on Money Maker, but that helps distill their virtues into a handful of memorable singles ("Jealous Again," "She Talks to Angels," a cover of Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle"), and most of the album tracks maintain an equally high standard. Shake Your Money Maker may not be stunningly original, but it doesn't need to be; it's the most concise demonstration of the fact that the Black Crowes are a great, classic rock & roll band." The self-titled debut album from Tavat, a new band which multi-instrumentalist Juhani Laine started after leaving the Prog Rock group Sammal a few years ago. What initially started as a solo therapy project later turned into an album

During the making of the album, which was worked on well beyond the corona pandemic, there were bumps in the road where Juhan had to admit that his own abilities were not enough. He asked his bandmates from different formations for help. Taneli Manninen (Severi Peura & Selvanakijat, Waltari on-demand) is responsible for the drums throughout the album. Sammalee's soloist Jan-Erik Kiviniemi is responsible for the songs on several songs. The debut album also features Severi Pyysalo (vibraphone), Hannu Vainionpaa (vocals; The Grammers, Hannu & Harharetkue), Emilia Roos (vocals), Maiju Oikarinen (vocals), Matias Ryki-Kilpio (trombone) and also members of Sammalee in their own roles.

Always a tad bit cleverer than he's ever given credit for, Chad Kroeger is perfectly aware not only of his encroaching middle age but also the shifting commercial marketplace and where Nickelback fit within that. No Fixed Address, Nickelback's eighth album and by some measure their most adventurous record, doesn't find Kroeger abandoning his gift for brutish hooks, but he has moved his band away from its reliance on Paleozoic power chords. This is entirely a production move. He writes the same kinds of songs, but he's swapped out canned digital distortion for burbling cauldrons of EDM, looping rhythms so it appears they overlap (although he never hints at anything like a polyrhythm), ladling synthesizers into every empty crevice, carving out space for Flo Rida on "Got Me Runnin' Round," and going full-bore disco on "Get 'Em Up" and "She Keeps Me Up." The barely disguised double-entendre joke in that latter title shows Kroeger still finds smuttiness irresistible -- and he can still find fresh new ways to be grotesque, as when he slips "you were busy motorboating on that blonde girl" into "Got Me Runnin' Round" -- but this isn't his default mode: he'd rather layer on the sentiment, illustrated in both the power ballad "Satellite" and "Miss You," which could easily be mistaken for adult contemporary pop from Y2K, and he even attempts something of a political stance on "Edge of a Revolution," where the asides to the NSA are muddled but appreciated. Bizarrely enough, in this context all the electronic flirtation doesn't sound craven but rather crafty. With a decade of hitmaking under his belt, he knows what keeps a song on the top of the charts -- and he knows what is currently on the charts, as evidenced by the Imagine Dragons/Kongos stomp fueling the closing "Sister Sin" -- so he's shifting his band away from its antiquated post-grunge into a sound that is self-consciously fresher and mature. It's not only a commercially canny move, it generates the best Nickelback record to date.

The big task for Alice in Chains on their 2009 comeback Black Gives Way to Blue was to prove they could carry on battered and bruised, missing Layne Staley but still in touch with their core. They had to demonstrate the band had a reason to exist, and Black Gives Way to Blue achieved this goal, paving the way for another record just like it. Enter The Devil Put the Dinosaurs Here, a record that is pretty close to identical to Black Gives Way to Blue in its sound, attack, and feel. Where it differs is in the latter, as the overall album feels lighter and, at times, the individual songs do, too. "Scalpel" flirts with the acoustic bones of Jar of Flies and also has perhaps the richest melody here, working as a song, not a grind. That said, there is an appeal to that monochromatic churn, the kind AIC created on Dirt and haven't let go of since. The lightness comes not from the songs -- the tempos still drag their feet, the guitars mine a minor key, the harmonies are in fifths so they sound like power chords -- but rather from the precision of the band's attack and, especially, the production. This has a digital sheen that was missing even from Black Gives Way to Blue, and it gives the album an expansive feel, so the patented churn doesn't seem quite so claustrophobic as before. Then again, perhaps that expansiveness is just a sign of age: Alice in Chains are now firmly entrenched in their middle age and settling into what they do best: retaining their signature without pandering and, tellingly, without succumbing to the darkness that otherwise defines them.

Born to stalk death and destined to make righteous noise, Mick's Jaguar are a force to be reckoned with.
Formed in Brooklyn many moons ago as a one-off Rolling Stones cover band for an impromptu New Year's Eve party, the N.Y.C. collective sound like the bastard son of an unholy union between Judas Priest and Guns N' Roses.

Their debut album, 2018's Fame And Fortune, received praise from both American and European press alike, with one review describing their sound thusly: "If Ace Frehley was in Thin Lizzy and it was the summer of 1977 . and they were all really into The Sex Pistols and AC/DC."

Since then, the band have toured nationwide, made appearances at the inaugural Psycho Smokeout in Los Angeles and Desertfest New York, and opened for legendary punk and hard rock acts like Airborne, The Adicts and Turbonegro's late/great frontman Hank von Hell.

After losing their bassist in the dense jungle boughs of Thailand, Mick's Jaguar enlisted the help of close friends Jack Ridley (Drowners) and Aaron Roche (Wye Oak, Anhoni, Toth) to record another round of 10 bar-fighting rock tracks at Brooklyn's Figure 8 Recording with engineer Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Alanis Morissette). The result? Their killer sophomore album Salvation, which once again finds the band living too late, bound for hell and quite possibly claiming the title of greatest rock 'n' roll band on the planet.

"Like every band says at every show these days, it feels incredible to be back," says vocalist John Martin. "But after the last three years of bullshit, this is the music you need. We're stoked to see there's a new wave of bands coming up that are making music for rock fans like us."

Montreal glitter rock n' roll outfit Dangereens has released the album 'Tough Luck' remastered and available on Golden Robot Records,

Tough Luck is Dangereens' first full-length album. Musically inspired by early 70s glam rock and 50s rock n' roll, the band offers observations of our daily struggles from the point of view of local characters, wrapped in raw, raucous, yet sweet tones. The result has been described as "an opus characterised by a vintage yet pertinent sound that brings strange feelings of light-headedness and comfort, around the at times obscure lyrics".

Dangereens' sound and aesthetic combine touches of 70s junkshop glam with sleazy, primal 50s rock n' roll. Known locally as one of Montreal's finest toe taping act, the band formed in the spring of 2017, and since then they have engaged in a feverish song writing streak that led them to put out EPs, singles and one LP, in Tough Luck.

Roger Waters is release a full album of material compiled during his lockdown sessions, conducted during the height of the pandemic.

Beginning in May of 2020 and running through 2022, Waters recorded at-home versions of various Pink Floyd classics as well as his own solo material. "Mother," "Vera" and "Bring the Boys Back Home" from 1979's The Wall, as well as "Two Suns in the Sunset" and "The Gunners Dream" from The Final Cut are among the songs Waters recorded for the project.

The songs have all reportedly been mastered for the album, while the recently released "Comfortably Numb 2022" - a reimagining of Pink Floyd's famed 1980 single - will also be part of the LP.

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of Tarmat, an exciting new AOR/Melodic Rock band hailing from Niteroi, Brazil, for the release of debut album "Out Of The Blue" on December 9, 2022. Alexandre Daumerie (vocals), Eduardo Marcolino (guitars), Gabriel Aquino (keyboards) and Jose Marcus (bass) formed the band mid-2020 during the early stages of the global pandemic. Four longtime friends, they have been playing together in hard rock bands since 2006. Eduardo and Gabriel are also childhood friends who play together in the instrumental progressive rock band Anxtron. Born from a yearning to start a new band to write and play some original AOR-oriented music together, "Out Of The Blue" was recorded during 2021-22. Rafael Marcolino provided drums, while the album was mixed and mastered in Sweden by Eduardo Belchior (Intense Music Productions) and Ronny Milianowicz, respectively. Moratti is a solo artist, the lead vocalist of Moratti and Final Frontier, and the former singer of Saga. Moratti, a genuine and true original, has an astonishing range and has carved a unique style for himself, blending the finest elements of melodic and progressive rock.
Thist will be Rob's fifth solo album and his first release with Frontiers. Filled with his trademark harmonies and memorable choruses, the songs on "Epical'' are some of the best of Rob's career. The album also features a stellar cast of contributing writers and performers, including Joel Hoekstra on lead guitar, Tony Franklin on bass, Felix Borg on drums (and co-writing), Fredrik Bergh on keys (and co-writing), Ulrick Lönnqvist, Steve Augeri, and Pete Alpenborg (who also contributes rhythm guitar and keyboard). Needless to say this is quite a line up for this excellent album!
Moratti started his professional singing career in the early 90's as lead vocalist and songwriter of the band Moratti.
They were immediately well received, garnering airplay in Japan and Europe. In 2002, Rob's future went forward with Final Frontier, a band with whom he has released four incredible melodic-minded metal albums.
Over the years in spite of all the changes in the music scene, Rob's perseverance and passion have stayed strong. His talent captured the attention of the multi-platinum selling legendary progressive rock band SAGA and in 2008, Rob Moratti would become the new vocalist for the band for a period of time, appearing on 2009's "The Human Condition". Over the course of his solo career, Rob has also worked with many incredible musicians like Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, TSO, ex-Night Ranger) Reb Beach (Whitesnake. Winger), Tony Franklin (ex- Blue Murder, The Firm), Brian Doerner (Saga), Ian Crichton (Saga), and Steve Augeri (ex-Journey).

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to present the sophomore album, "Elevate" from Brazilian melodic rockers Landfall. Hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, Landfall features singer Gui Oliver (ex-Auras), guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke, bassist Thiago Forbeci, and drummer Felipe Souzza. The band's delightful Melodic Rock/AOR sound can best be described as falling somewhere between classic melodic rock, a là Journey, and slightly heavier influences, such as classic era Dokken, White Lion, and Extreme. With phenomenal musical and songwriting abilities and the golden voice of Oliver, Landfall is truly a welcome addition to the melodic rock genre.
"This record definitely sums up the essence of who we are as a band. Being our second album, we were much more comfortable creating this music, so I think our personalities as musicians are even more apparent this time. As a group, we are currently living such a great moment and I think it has been reflected in our new music," says guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke.
Lead singer and lyricist Gui Oliver believes that the new songs are stronger than ever and capture the best of each band member. "We know exactly what we want to say, the music we want to play. Also, Marcelo and Felipe were meticulous in every detail of the production creating a special atmosphere for the songs," he says.
"In terms of writing and production, the entire process went smoothly, although we knew we would have a lot of work coming on our way. We did the whole piece in nine months. Even before we wrote the first seed of a song, we knew from the beginning what we should focus on and where to go. This makes a huge difference in the end. As we're self-producers, what you will listen to on the tracks is the exact way we want to sound. 'Elevate' is the LANDFALL's version 2.0. Powerful tones with well-built foundations and harmonies and really catchy melodies," says drummer Felipe Souzza.
Landfall was originally formed by drummer Felipe Souzza and guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke, childhood friends who have been playing together since they were about 15 years old. Some years later, bassist Thiago Forbeci joined up with them and added new musical input and influences, at which point the band decided to go in a new direction. During this period, they released three independent albums under the name Wild Child, performing several concerts around Brazil, including opening for acts such as Glenn Hughes and Mike Vescera.
Joined in 2017 by the former Auras singer Gui Oliver, Landfall began writing songs that would eventually become their first album released by Frontiers Records, "The Turning Point". As a songwriter, Oliver had previously written songs for several artists from the label, including Jimi Jamison, Bobby Kimball, Fergie Frederiksen, and Issa. About Landfall, he said "I was really glad to be back with Frontiers with a new band and new songs in a new perspective. When I met the guys for the first time, I was really impressed by what gifted musicians they were. I knew we could make some great music together."
During the period between releasing "The Turning Point" and commencing work on their second album "Elevate", Marcelo Gelbcke, along with Semblant vocalist Sergio Mazul, wrote, produced, and recorded the first Icon of Sin album, a heavy metal tour de force featuring the incredibly talented Brazilian vocalist Raphael Mendes. As for Gui Oliver, he released the debut Mayank album together with Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge Of Forever, Hardline), Rolf Nordström (Perfect Plan), and Nicholas Papappico (Robin McAuley), another killer slice of melodic rock/AOR.

Echo & The Bunnymen formed in Liverpool back in 1978, with Ian McCulloch on vocals, Will Sergeant on guitar, bassist Les Pattinson with Pete De Freitas on drums. Their first release came in the form of the single The Pictures On My Wall, with the B-side Read It In Books. Both tracks would appear on their debut album Crocodiles, released in 1980. Released amid the growing wave of post-punk, Crocodiles cemented the band amongst the best around, with the NME at the time describing it as "probably the best album this year by a British band" and featuring amongst many greatest ever debut album lists.

The lead single from the album, Rescue, was produced by Ian Broudie who would later produce more Echo & The Bunnymen material, as well as later forming The Lightning Seeds in 1989. The single would enter the UK charts, with the album breaking into the top 20 and going on to be certified Gold. The original cover was shot by Brian Griffin near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The atmospheric, moody aura of the sleeve sets the tone for quintessential post-punk.

"Inspired by psychedelia, sure. Bit of Jim Morrison in the vocals? OK, it's there. But for all the references and connections that can be drawn (and they can), one listen to Echo's brilliant, often harrowing debut album and it's clear when a unique, special band presents itself. Beginning with the dramatic, building climb of "Going Up," Crocodiles at once showcases four individual players sure of their own gifts and their ability to bring it all together to make things more than the sum of their parts. Will Sergeant in particular is a revelation -- arguably only Johnny Marr and Vini Reilly were better English guitarists from the '80s, eschewing typical guitar-wank overload showboating in favor of delicacy, shades, and inventive, unexpected melodies. More than many before or since, he plays the electric guitar as just that, electric not acoustic, dedicated to finding out what can be done with it while never using it as an excuse to bend frets. His highlights are legion, whether it's the hooky opening chime of "Rescue" or the exchanges of sound and silence in "Happy Death Men." Meanwhile, the Pattinson/De Freitas rhythm section stakes its own claim for greatness, the former's bass driving yet almost seductive, the latter's percussion constantly shifting rhythms and styles while never leaving the central beat of the song to die. "Pride" is one standout moment of many, Pattinson's high notes and De Freitas' interjections on what sound like chimes or blocks are inspired touches. Then there's McCulloch himself, and while the imagery can be cryptic, the delivery soars, even while his semi-wail conjures up, as on the nervy, edgy picture of addiction "Villiers Terrace," "People rolling round on the carpet/Mixing up the medicine." Brisk, wasting not a note, and burning with barely controlled energy, Crocodiles remains a deserved classic." (Ned Raggett, AMG)

CLOUDS OF CLARITY is a new Swedish alternative rock band consisting of Andrée Theander (guitars, keyboards, bass, percussion and backing vocals), Elie Sandberg (lead vocals and backing vocals) and Mauritz Peterson (drums).

The style is a mix of classic and modern pop, rock and funk. Superficial Society is the debut album, a concept album based on Theander's own thoughts on the modern world, various things that happen in our society, and how we react as human beings. The utterly complex and bewildering human mind has been the main lyrical influence. The release date is set for Friday, December 9. It was written and produced by Andrée Theander and recorded primarily at her Malachite Night Studio, as well as Mauritz Peterson's Brick Wall Studio.
