"This album reflects on how each one of us can breed and unleash our own self-destructive force, assembled to be part of a giant Doom Machine," states singer and lyricist Johnny Lee
It is the band's densest sonic output, emotionally reeling from the tragic death of guitarist K. Raffah's baby son and from all the other members' children born during the creative process.
Sonically, 'Doom Machine' ranges from riff-raff extravaganza to psychedelic and eerie swirls amid hypnotic interludes. All instrumental parts were recorded live to capture a fresh energy.

Dutch/Brazilian metal act Phantom Elite have sophomore album, "Titanium" released on January 22, 2021. Phantom Elite is a relatively new metal band fronted by singer Marina La Torraca (Exit Eden, live vocalist for Avantasia) and features songwriting and production from former After Forever guitarist and producer Sander Gommans. Marina and Sander together with Max van Esch (guitars), and Joeri Warmerdam (drums) are set to unleash an incredible slice of contemporary sounding heavy metal music in their sophomore album "Titanium". Recently, Bieler had been touring extensively as a solo artist. The shows featured a wide array of musical styles, absurdists humor, special guests, and more. Fatal Fusion is a progressive rock band from Oslo, Norway. The group got together in early 2008, after emerging from the ashes of several Rock/Blues covers bands. The album opens with 'Drilled to Kill', first single released from it, with Primal Fear's Ralf Scheepers taking the mic. It is a tough out and out heavy rock song in the style of Judas Priest with a keyboard and guitar duel at the close. 'Don't Die On Me Now' follows with vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, this showcases Schenker's classic sound with great melodic guitar work throughout.

Steven Wilson has long been one of the most distinguished and adventurous, yet heavily scrutinized, artists in modern art/progressive rock. Be it the harsher trajectory of Porcupine Tree's 2000s output, the avant-garde nature of 2012's Storm Corrosion, or the unpredictability of past few solo LPs, each new release sees fans sanctimoniously declaring how much or how little it fits into what they want Wilson to do. Produced by Tony Bongiovi and Lance Quinn, it is significant for being the only Bon Jovi album in which a song ("She Don't Know Me") appears that was not written or co-written by a member of the band. The album charted at No. 43 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Aside from the hit song "Runaway", songs from the album were rarely performed live after Bon Jovi released Slippery When Wet in 1986. The title of Finnish band Korpiklaani​'s eleventh album has no direct English translation. Jylhä describes a scene of natural majesty, but alludes also to the emotions evoked. While every word of this band's lyrics is sung in their native tongue, the music at least translates more easily. Like every previous Korpiklaani release, this is reeling, hard spun folk metal, a familiar format done here with an authentic native zeal.

It's full of rugged hooks, accordion-led stomp and satisfyingly heavy riffs. With words written by poet and author Tuomas Keskimäki (not a band member) this is music that speaks of the arcane and the atavistic. First track Verikoira - and, indeed, the equally epic closer Juuret - offer multiple set pieces, each segment indicative of what can be enjoyed on the album elsewhere. When engaging in heads-down metal, Verikoira salutes Judas Priest​'s classic Painkiller, something the band has raised its hand and acknowledged. Similarly, though less officially, Nightwish fans will find elements of 2007's Amaranth weaving in and out of Korpiklaani's tuneful, folk-led Sanaton Maa.

TRANSATLANTIC - the Prog Supergroup of Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt & Pete Trewavas - are pleased their fifth studio album 'The Absolute Universe', set released on the 5th February 2021. Representing the band's first new music since 2014's 'Kaleidoscope', with 'The Absolute Universe' the band have done something unique and created two versions of the record: 'The Absolute Universe: The Breath Of Life (Abridged Version)' & 'The Absolute Universe: Forevermore (Extended Version)'.

As Mike Portnoy explains: "We've got two versions of this album. There is a two CD presentation, which is 90 minutes long, and a single one - that's 60 minutes. However, the single CD is NOT merely an edited version of the double CD. They each contain alternate versions and even in some cases, new recordings. We wrote fresh lyrics and have different people singing on the single CD version tracks as compared to those on the double CD. Some of the song titles have also been changed, while others might remain the same, but compositionally what you'll hear has been altered. You must appreciate that what we have done is unique. We revamped the songs to make the two versions different." Pete Trewavas adds: "We did write some new music for the single CD," adds Trewavas. "What's more, there are also differences in the instruments used on some of the tracks across the two records."

TRANSATLANTIC - the Prog Supergroup of Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt & Pete Trewavas - are pleased their fifth studio album 'The Absolute Universe', set released on the 5th February 2021. Representing the band's first new music since 2014's 'Kaleidoscope', with 'The Absolute Universe' the band have done something unique and created two versions of the record: 'The Absolute Universe: The Breath Of Life (Abridged Version)' & 'The Absolute Universe: Forevermore (Extended Version)'.

As Mike Portnoy explains: "We've got two versions of this album. There is a two CD presentation, which is 90 minutes long, and a single one - that's 60 minutes. However, the single CD is NOT merely an edited version of the double CD. They each contain alternate versions and even in some cases, new recordings. We wrote fresh lyrics and have different people singing on the single CD version tracks as compared to those on the double CD. Some of the song titles have also been changed, while others might remain the same, but compositionally what you'll hear has been altered. You must appreciate that what we have done is unique. We revamped the songs to make the two versions different." Pete Trewavas adds: "We did write some new music for the single CD," adds Trewavas. "What's more, there are also differences in the instruments used on some of the tracks across the two records."

The year 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. On this occasion, many finds from the London Underground music scene found their way into the public ear again. Now, with a little delay, perhaps the most important rediscovery from the time of Swingin' London is available: Iapetus presents with this compilation for the first time a comprehensive review of the work of the legendary British band Banging Colours.

During the short period of their existence in London from 1967 to 1969, Banging Colours around keyboarder and singer Manny Wolfe were considered one of the most important and influential bands of their time. Performances at the U.F.O. Club and in Middle Earth established their reputation as a cult band of British psychedelia fans. Joint appearances with Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Pretty Things or Tomorrow consolidated this status as well as their innovative light show, which gave the band its name.
This compilation is a major act and an important contribution to the history of music, which gives an idea of the importance of Banging Colours. A must for all fans of the 60s and lovers of psychedelic music.
