Following the whirlwind success of their first two albums and near constant touring, Page and Plant took to the now famous Bron-Yr-Aur cottage in Wales in 1970 to start the early composition of Led Zeppelin III. They later convened with Bonham and Jones for rehearsals before entering London's Olympic Studios to begin recording in May 1970. Fueled by classic tracks such as "Immigrant Song" and "Since I've Been Loving You," the album soared to the top of charts worldwide upon its release in October of 1970 and has since been certified 6x platinum.

The featured nine tracks on Led Zeppelin III's bonus material continue to offer a window into the band's recording process with seven studio outtakes of songs from the album as well as three previously unheard compositions: "Jennings Farm Blues" (an instrumental forerunner of "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp"), "Bathroom Sound" (an instrumental version of "Out On The Tiles"), and their take on the blues classics "Keys To The Highway/Trouble In Mind."

Led Zeppelin continues to be honored for its pivotal role in music history. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and a year later was awarded with the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm. Founding members Jones, Page and Plant - along with Jason Bonham, the son of John Bonham - took the stage at London's O2 Arena in 2007 to headline a tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun, a dear friend and Atlantic Records' founder. The band was honored for its lifetime contribution to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. In January of 2014, the band won their first ever Grammy award as Celebration Day, which captured their live performance at the Ertegun tribute concert, was named Best Rock Album.

The album was mixed and mastered by award-winning producer Thomas "Plec" Johansson in Skövde, Sweden with Ron Dahlgren, Nina Dahlgren and Victor Olsson as executive producers. The songs was written and produced by Victor Olsson. Drums were recorded at Nordic Sound Lab in Skara by Mikko Viitala and Victor Olsson. The cover artwork was created by Markus Vesper, who also handled the art on the previous two albums.

The album features a guest appearance from the Swedish pop group One More Time. Its members are the singers Nanne Grönvall, one of the most beloved and popular artists in Sweden, Maria Rådsten and Peter Grönvall, the son of ABBA's Benny Andersson, on keyboards.

Their first single Highland, 1992, hit the charts all around in Europe. In 1995 they composed a song for the Swedish Melodifestivalen, "Det Vackraste" that won a grammy for best song of the year, and in 1996 they won the Swedish Melodifestivalen and represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Den Vilda", which ended in 3rd place.

Gathering Of Kings are the successful project built by Ron & Nina Dahlgren, bringing together top musicians from the current hard rock scene in Sweden. The idea was to create an AOR/Melodic Hard Rock project/band like Tom Galley's Phenomena or even Tobias Sammet's Avantasia, with multiple vocalists and instrumentalists. Victor Olsson quickly became the main songwriter.
The superlatives have hailed over Gathering Of Kings, which takes you straight back to the golden age of 80's melodic hard rock and it is without a doubt one of the hottest acts in Sweden.

The legendary Loudness celebrate their 40th anniversary with the release of their first official double studio album. The 16 songs represent the classic Loudness sound and style. What makes the album unique is the fact that most of the lyrics are sung in Japanese, making this release a tribute to their origins. However, a few songs are also sung in English. The album will be released as a double album edition with an extensive booklet containing the English translation of all lyrics.

LOUDNESS has dominated the Japanese heavy metal scene ever since its birth in 1981 with classic albums like "Thunder In The East" (1985) and "Lightning Strikes" (1986). Their last studio album, 2018's "Rise To Glory", was highly acclaimed both by the heavy metal maniacs and the critics.

LOUDNESS's lineup has changed multiple times since 1981, with the current incarnation consisting of three original members - lead singer Minoru Niihara, guitarist Akira Takasaki and bassist Masayoshi Yamashita - along with drummer Masayuki Suzuki, who joined the group in 2009.

Original LOUDNESS drummer Munetaka Higuchi died in 2008 after a year-long battle with liver cancer.

Formed in late 2012 by vocalist/guitarist Nico Cattoni, RAPTORE originally hailed from Buenos Aires, Argentina and released their first demo in 2014. In 2016, they released their debut album, Rage N' Fever, which allowed them to tour South America and open for such bands as Exciter and Enforcer.

Not being able to find suitable musicians for a steady lineup, in 2018, Nico decides to move to Europe in order to give RAPTORE better opportunities and recognition. He set base in Barcelona and completed the lineup with three of the most talented musicians in the scene. One year later, they released the single "Prisoner Of The Night" through Church Recordings and were booked for festivals such as Pyrenean and Trveheim. Unfortunately, the pandemic delayed those concerts until 2022.

Nevertheless, the fortified RAPTORE lineup began work during 2021 on their second album, Blackfire, entering the esteemed Moontower Studios. Immediately, right from the very first notes, Blackfire EXPLODES with an excitement that simply cannot be contained. Righteously ripping, draped in darkness but lined with purple velvet, RAPTORE here give a masterclass in spooky speed metal: fierce yet fun, authentically rooted in the '80s but not blinkered by the past, and above all ADDICTING. That the quartet can maintain a bristling energy no matter the pace - cruising, headbanging, or overdrive - is some sort of black magick; that each track is anthemic in its own right and then altogether coalesce into a unified statement of intent is simply diabolical. But, while Blackfire is most definitely the band's darkest and fastest recording to date, let it be known that not everything is of a Satanic/vampiric/demonic intent; just as many personal messages exist within the album's eight-song/32-minute runtime. Which is all to say nothing of the evocative lead-work, which is literal FIRE!

As a key member of cult prog outfit SPOCK'S BEARD, keyboardist RYO OKUMOTO has had a storied and prolific career. Over the last few decades, Okumoto has been a driving force behind a range of instrumentally elaborate records both with and without SPOCK'S BEARD. However, it's been a solid 20 years since Okumoto released original material under his own banner. Enter The Myth Of The Mostrophus, an over-the-top musical reckoning that is fittingly bombastic for one of the genre's unsung heroes. Black Rose: A Rock Legend would prove to be Thin Lizzy's last true classic album (and last produced by Tony Visconti). Guitarist Brian Robertson was replaced by Gary Moore prior to the album's recording. Moore had already been a member of the band in the early '70s and served as a tour fill-in for Robertson in 1977, and he fits in perfectly with Lizzy's heavy, dual-guitar attack. Black Rose also turned out to be the band's most musically varied, accomplished, and successful studio album, reaching number two on the U.K. album chart upon release. Lizzy leader Phil Lynott is again equipped with a fine set of originals, which the rest of the band shines on -- the percussion-driven opener "Do Anything You Want To," the pop hit "Waiting for an Alibi," and a gentle song for Lynott's newly born daughter, "Sarah." Not all the material is as upbeat, such as the funky "S&M," as well two grim tales of street life and substance abuse -- "Toughest Street in Town" and "Got to Give It Up" (the latter sadly prophetic for Lynott). Black Rose closes with the epic seven-minute title track, which includes an amazing, complex guitar solo by Moore that incorporates Celtic themes against a hard rock accompaniment. Black Rose: A Rock Legend is one of the '70s lost rock classics.

Led Zeppelin continues to be honored for its pivotal role in music history. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and a year later was awarded with the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm. Founding members Jones, Page and Plant - along with Jason Bonham, the son of John Bonham - took the stage at London's O2 Arena in 2007 to headline a tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun, a dear friend and Atlantic Records' founder. The band was honored for its lifetime contribution to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. In January of 2014, the band won their first ever Grammy award as Celebration Day, which captured their live performance at the Ertegun tribute concert, was named Best Rock Album.

Recorded in 2021 as part of the gigs marking the release of their latest studio album, North Star, Norse And Dangerous is effectively a career-spanning retrospective for EINHERJER that presents a range of their material, old and new, in a suitably modern and immaculate form.

Of course, it's not just a case of good production and performance that makes Norse And Dangerous a captivating listen. By presenting old and new selects from their discography, EINHERJER recontextualise their classic material with their modern sensibilities, bridging the gaps between the band's eras. The result is a retrospective that updates their formative years meaningfully to show the throughline between the band that formed in 1993 and 2022's EINHERJER. Norse And Dangerous showcases EINHERJER as not only a powerful live force, but also as a vital progenitor of the Viking metal genre. In turn, it serves as both a great entry point for new fans and a real treat for those who have always been there along the way.

Famed Finnish glam rock heroes HANOI ROCKS were never shy about wearing their collective influences on their fishnet sleeves. Starting with their acclaimed debut album, the group frequently included surprising cover versions among their killer original songs - from the Carol King-penned "Walking With My Angel" to the bluesy folk of Hoyt Axton's "Lighting Bar Blues" to the smoking hot take on CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL's "Up Around The Bend", which currently rides the top of the band's most played songs on the Spotify platform. Now, HANOI ROCKS guitarist Andy McCoy taps into the rich musical history that inspired him on his own full-length album of highly addictive covers titled "Jukebox Junkie".

"Jukebox Junkie" features an eclectic mix of songs showcasing not only McCoy's deep love of numerous styles and genres but also his immense gift for synthesizing these disparate artists into a cohesive song sequence. On "Jukebox Junkie", reggae legend Toots Hibbert's "54-46 That's My Number" grooves next to "Take Me I'm Yours" by '80s hitmakers SQUEEZE while Iggy and Bowie's "China Girl" and rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson's fantastic "Funnel Of Love" highlight the album's second half.

McCoy himself shares: "These are songs that everyone ought to know. I chose them from a list of 60 that I thought deserved to be bigger hits. I think this is the most colorful album I have ever done."

Finnish soprano powerhouse Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) never does things halfway. This "prequel" to The Shadow Self, her upcoming full-length, comprises new songs, covers, and a new mix, with some guest appearances tossed in. While some of the music is excellent, the project ultimately feels cobbled together rather than purposefully presented. Single and opening track "No Bitter End" is the video version. Slick, anthemic, pop-oriented metal, it has an irresistible hook. Tarja's stacked lead and backing vocals imbue it with a studied emotion that stands in contrast to its passionate melody. Michael Monroe lends his voice, guitar, saxophone, and harmonica to "Your Heaven and Your Hell." It's a fine, bluesy hard rock vehicle for the former Hanoi Rocks frontman, but ill-suited to Turunen's more classically oriented gothic singing. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith adds his drums to "Eagle Eye," a pop-metal cut that the vocalist imbues with a theatrical presence. Tarja gets points for her choice of covers here. Her rendition of Paul McCartney's "House of Wax" contains more drama than the original but doesn't sacrifice nuance in the imaginative melody and arrangement. Buoyed by a large string ensemble, the singer delivers the song with authority. It's her brand of symphonic metal at its best. Even stranger is the reading of the theme from "Goldfinger" immortalized by Shirley Bassey. The contrast between the fat, crunchy guitars and symphonic strings and horns comes off kitschy but cool, leaving the more sultry jazz presentation of the original in the dust. Yet Tarja's singular voice pulls it all together in the end. Unfortunately, her "An Empty Dream" contains all-too-icy electronics and sounds like a rejected outtake from a Sarah Brightman session, while the Dead Can Dance-esque musical abstraction in "Witch-Hunt" goes on for far too long to maintain the listener's interest. Tim Palmer's bombastic new mix of Within Temptation's "Paradise (What About Us?)" -- which originally featured Turunen as a guest -- sounds like a heavy metal Jim Steinman production, but that's far from a bad thing. The guitar breaks are killer, and the vocal contrast between Sharon den Andel's powerful alto and Tarja's soaring soprano harmony is arresting. Ultimately, The Brightest Void doesn't sound like a stand-alone document as much as a product to sell on tour while awaiting the album's release. In other words, it's for completists only.

Privateering is Mark Knopfler's first double album in a 35-year recording career. 'The older I get, the more I want to write,' he says. 'Whether that is just panic at time running out, I'm not sure. I'm enjoying the process more than ever, writing, recording and playing live, I enjoy all of it. I'm almost tripping over songs.'

These 20 tracks of consummately crafted folk, blues, country and rock originals reflect the creative exuberance of an artist whose exceptional abilities were recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Ivor Novellos. He has performed live in front of countless millions. He has collaborated with artists of the stature of Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, Emmylou Harris and Van Morrison. He has composed distinctive soundtracks for such classic films as Local Hero, The Princess Bride, Last Exit To Brooklyn and Wag The Dog. He has been regularly acclaimed as one of the greatest guitarists in the world. But what he sees himself as, first and foremost, is a songwriter. And this may be his finest-ever collection.

The line-up of musicians Mark has been gathering around him since the mid-90s includes Guy Fletcher (keyboards), Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano), Glenn Worf (bass), Mike McGoldrick (whistle and flute) and John McCusker (fiddle) with the recent addition of the fantastic Ian Thomas (drums). Special guests included Paul Franklin (pedal steel), Phil Cunningham (accordion) and Tim O'Brien (mandolin). Ruth Moody of rising roots band The Wailin' Jennys contributed her distinctive vocals. Full-bore guitar legend and founding member of Whitesnake Bernie Marsden pays his respects to some of the mightiest three-piece bands in history on his new release Trios.

The set is the third installment of Marsden's popular "Inspirations" series of recordings that are each meant to be a tribute to performers who inspired and helped to shape his long and influential career. The first two albums, Kings and Chess, both reached Number One on the Blues charts and put Marsden back into the Top 20 for the first time in 40 years. Trios will likely be received equally well and is jam-packed with Marsden's retellings of songs by Jeff Beck, The James Gang, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Rick Derringer, and others. It's a wonderful batch of performances that will appeal to rock fans everywhere.

Bernie Marsden is a supremely talented guitarist, songwriter, and singer who was an original member of mega-band Whitesnake before going solo four decades ago. Marsden appears on the first seven Whitesnake records, Snakebite (1978), Trouble (1978), Lovehunter (1979), Ready & Willing (1980), Live In The Heart Of The City (1980), Come An' Get It (1981) and Saints & Sinners (1982). Bernie has also performed with some of rock music's most impressive names including Ginger Baker, Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Jon Lord, Gary Moore, The Ringo Starr Band, Cozy Powell, Rory Gallagher, Jack Bruce, Warren Haynes, and Joe Bonamassa.

Treasures abound on Trios and dropping the needle anywhere on it will yield excellent results.

Want even more fun? Cue up Marsden's version of Rick Derringer's "Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo." Bernie absolutely roasts this one on guitar and throws down some fine vocal work, as well. To hear such an engaging song played this well is to experience the idea of blues/rock at its best.

Deep album highlights include Jimi's "Spanish Castle Magic" and Robin Trower's "Too Rolling Stoned." Marsden plays and sings with the kind of authority and conviction needed to light up the music of so many superstars and Trios gets better and better the more you listen to it. The album is a fine piece of work by one of rock's best and most enduring guitarists. Spin it and make your own day.

Fifty years ago, an avid Who fan named Marty Scott and his two childhood friends from NJ began to sell records in their college dorms. They traveled to England after graduation and went searching to find a Who album that was not available in the USA. He realized there must be others who wanted it too. This was the start of importing rock albums by JEM Records. Carrying on through the 70's and 80's as the premier independent distribution and label group, Jem helped many labels get national distribution ,broke artists via radio and retail, and released hundreds of albums.

Rock At Night says: Really fun new takes on classic Who hits! One can never tire of listening to these killer songs.

Now, fifty years after its operation from a trailer in the parking lot of a "one-stop," JEM Records continues as the premier "power pop" rock label. On August 5th, Jem release the third (after John Lennon and Brian Wilson) "Celebrates" album with JEM Records Celebrates Pete Townshend ,once again presenting its artists' interpretation of a rock icons' songs.

Lords of Black guitarist Tony Hernando is one of the most talented and prolific musicians in the European hard rock scene today. His debut album under the moniker Restless Spirits saw Tony stepping away from the metal musical style Lords Of Black that he is known for and featured different singers on an array of songs covering the melodic hard rock genre. Guest vocalists included a who's who of the current melodic and hard rock scenes: Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell), Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints, ex-Journey), Dino Jelusick (ex-Animal Drive), Kent Hilli (Perfect Plan), Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline), and Diego Valdez (Dream Child). Nordic Union, the ongoing musical collaboration between legendary Danish rock singer Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids) and prolific Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.)

As has been well documented at this point, Atkins was recently given a stage four cancer diagnosis, but rather than sit at home and sulk, the legendary frontman has thrown himself into creating more music. March 2021 saw the release of his solo album, "One Shot", which was followed almost one year to the day later in March 2022 by another solo album, "Make It Count". Not satisfied with resting on his laurels, Atkins partnered up with Martensson in late 2021 and early 2022 to work on Nordic Union's third album, "Animalistic".

Frontiers Records is proud to present the new album from a new melodic rock band from Sweden Hydra's "Point Break". Hydra is the brainchild of Swedish songwriter/musician Henrik Hedstrom, who has been a songwriter based out of Stockholm for many years and a friend of drummer/producer Daniel Flores (First Signal, Find Me, The Murder Of My Sweet) for the past 15 years. Flores drums and plays keyboards on the album, while vocals and lead and rhythm guitars are handled by Andi Kravljaca. Henrik plays keyboards and acoustic and clean guitars in Hydra.
In his own words, Henrik Hedstrom was "kind of a musical prodigy and always sang or played piano at the school celebrations." In Stockholm, Henrik started and joined a few bands through the years, serving as a singer, guitar player, and songwriter. He eventually decided to start a solo career and began working with Swedish producer Anders Bagge. After some time with Anders, Henrik started a new band, Hydra. Around the same time, Henrik was signed as a songwriter by Warner/Chappell, writing pop music, but this ultimately wasn't where his heart was and he eventually started a career outside of music.
In 2007, Henrik met Daniel Flores, whom he was introduced to through a mutual friend, Andreas Novak (Mind's Eye, House of Shakira). The two wound up recording some pop music demos for Warner/Chappell, but again, Henrik's heart wasn't really in it and in 2009, he ended his deal with Warner/Chappell. In 2019, Flores reached out to Henrik and asked him to send over some old and newer versions of his songs, particularly the rock ones. Later in 2019, Henrik's song "A Million Miles" was recorded and released by First Signal and in 2020, "Beat Them All" by Angelica, both releases coming via Frontiers Music Srl.
