A fresh new version of Tomorrow's legendary debut album re-imagined by Steve Howe. Post-produced using the technology now available on the balance and edits to enhance and re-present what the band were trying to achieve 55 years ago! Featuring some less well-known studio tracks, a new title, running order and sleeve creating the psychedelic masterpiece they always envisaged. Previously known as The In Crowd, Tomorrow came to fame in the 1967 film Smashing Time. During that year the band released two singles, one of which, 'My White Bicycle' was inspired by the Dutch Provos, an anarchist group in Amsterdam which instituted a community bicycle program. The follow-up single 'Revolution', according to Joe Boyd's book White Bicycles - Making Music in the 1960s asserted the band's performance of the song at the UFO Club was the apotheosis of the 60s UK underground. This re-issue overseen by Steve Howe, contains new artwork by long time Yes collaborators The Gottlieb Brothers with new notes by Steve Howe and John 'Twink' Alder, and has been remastered from the original mono mixes.

To call Norway's FLIGHT "retro" or "vintage" is to miss the point. Since their formation in 2012, the band have walked the fine line between effortless and studious - a throwback to '70s proto-metal, sure, but done with such vigor and authenticity that even the most skeptical listener would be helpless to resist being whisked away some four decades into the past. Simply, their music exists in that same vacuum when ROCK conquered all. FLIGHT bring the past into the present and write understated-yet-invigorating rockers that draw from a very rich (and idiosyncratic) history. To date, the band's two full-length records mark specific periods of their patient oeuvre: 2015's rough 'n' ready self-titled debut and 2018's sci-fi-themed A Leap Through Matter.

Now, FLIGHT continue that patient ascent with LP #3, Echoes of Journeys Past. Presciently titled, Echoes of Journeys Past indeed steps deeper into that mythical, muddied past where genre delineations had yet to be created - and, more so, when "rocking out" was fully based on feel. Retaining that tasteful kinda-clean guitar tone that paradoxically allows their intrinsic grit to hit that much harder, FLIGHT seek a moodier batch of songs that dart in dazzling directions. Each one's based on a brisk, but-never-rushed pace, and each winds back and forth between hook and lead, rocking and reeling.

There's an elusive X-factor that makes the album such an enchanting spin, a touch of melancholy, or more so mystery. But most of all, it's FLIGHT's synthesis of songwriting and performance that pushes Echoes of Journeys Past into the halls of greatness. Every hit of the drum or strum of the guitar evokes a sensation of warmth, and the vocals adds a layer of pathos to the soundscape. All of this works in service of telling the STORY of the song. Indeed, the album plays out like a story, recalling so much of the 1970s without singly settling on one specific era or sound, before reaching a climax with the ten-minute closer "Mystic Mountain," which sounds exactly as it's titled.

The retro-rock game is more crowded than ever, but with roots equally in proto-metal, FLIGHT continue to explore relatively rarefied ground with increasingly powerful results. Strange as it may seem that that power has exploded tenfold by scaling back, Echoes of a Journey Past could yet be the band's breakthrough record. Those who cherish Gorham/Robertson-era Thin Lizzy, Rainbow's Down to Earth into Difficult to Cure, or even Blue Oyster Cult at their late '70s / early '80s peak, you've found your new modern classic."

After 42 years in the metal business, Grave Digger's front icon Chris Boltendahl will release his first solo album. Under the banner of Chris Boltendahl's STEELHAMMER, "Reborn in Flames" will see the light of day in 2023. Chris was able to win over an illustrious guild of first-class musicians for this work. none other than the ex-Orden Ogan guitar wizard Tobias Kersting can be found on the guitar. With him Chris wrote all 10 tracks on "Reborn in Flames". The album is rounded off by the cover version of the classic "Beds are burning" by Midnight Oil. The line up is completed by Lars Schneider on bass (ex Orden Ogan) and Patrick Klose on drums (Iron Savior). Recorded in various studios and mixed and mastered in Chris' in-house Graveyard Studio, where the last Grave Digger "Symbol of Eternity" (#7 in the German charts) was mixed and mastered, "Reborn in Flames" brims with classic power metal riffs. in Various interviews promised Chris a glowing mixture of "Grave Digger meets Metal Church", which hits the nail on the head. From heavy metal steamers ala "Reborn in Flames, Fire Angel or Beyond the Black Soul" to the groove monsters "Gods of Steel, Out of the Ruins or The Hammer that kills" you can hear everything a banger's heart desires on the album.
Tobias Kersting refines the album with filigree Power Metal riffing and worldclass solos, while Lars Schneider and Patrick Klose provide the duo Kersting / Boltendahl with the necessary basis. The unmistakable voice of the Grave Digger legend reigns supreme. "Reborn in Flames" is a firework of metal for every headbanger who loves classic metal. The history of Swedish melodic rock band Rian begins in 2017 with their independently released debut album "Out To The Darkness", which received favorable reviews especially in Europe. The band matured and was strengthend by their live appearances beginning in 2018, but also with the addition of lead guitarist Tobias Jakobsson. New songs were written during 2018-2020 and based on melodies and lyrics written by vocalist/guitarist Richard Andermyr.
The band definitely stepped up crafting musical material which may be described as a modern version of classic melodic rock music, the way it was produced in the second half of the 80's.
Rian definitely sports influences from Bon Jovi to Winger, Dokken to Europe, Queensryche and Survivor but they manage to have a personal and contemporary touch that sets them apart from the others. This is what lead the Frontiers label to sign them for their sophomore album "Twenty-Three" which is now followed by the band's third release: "Wings."
The songs on the new record are once again marked by plenty of groove, strong guitar riffs, catchy refrains, superb vocal arrangements and smashing guitar lines, courtesy of the amazing lead guitars of Tobias Jakobsson. Sound is crispier than ever thanks to the superb mix by Dennis Ward (Magnum, Pink Cream 69, Khymera).
"Wings" offers an exciting modern version of classic melodic rock music, driven by by strong songwriting which feature exceptional guitar work and fine vocal harmony. Catch the band live if you can and you will be able to experience another reason why Sweden is front and center with its new Hard and Melodic Rock bands in the international market!
