TOUCH is an American band from New York City formed in 1978 with Mark Mangold (keyboards and vocals), Glenn Kithcart (drums), Craig Brooks (guitars and vocals) and Doug Howard (bass and vocals).

All previously had been in the last version of the band American Tears (releasing three albums on Columbia Records).

Touch's first album was released on Atco in the U.S. and Ariola in Europe and their first singles, "Don't You Know What Love Is" and "When The Spirit Moves You" charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Don't You Know What Love Is" was played heavily on AOR stations in the USA at the end of the 1970s and early '80's, and also did well in the Melody Maker chart in Great Britain.

Touch was the first band to play at the inaugural Monsters of Rock Festival at Castle Donington in 1980. A live version of "Don't You Know What Love Is" appeared on the compilation LP Monsters of Rock, documenting performances at the festival.

Known for their memorable and diverse songs, stellar musicianship, lush vocal harmonies and dynamic stage performance, Touch is invariably on the list of TOP AOR Bands and their album is considered by many to be among the best AOR Melodic Rock albums of all time.

The band have now reformed to create the new album "Tomorrow Never Comes", which is being hailed as their best work to date.

Few bands in recent memory have established themselves as quickly as BURNING WITCHES, and few are able to write such timeless, grand tunes with somnambulistic ease; carrying Judas Priest in their hearts without becoming overly nostalgic, whilst rapidly developing their own unique voice. "We're not really into bigger experiments," confesses guitarist and main songwriter Romana. "We're all burning for classic metal like Maiden, Priest and Slayer. For me nothing's better than this kind of music, so Burning Witches will always stay true to themselves."

Following 2020's "Dance Of The Devil", which charted at #22 in Germany, and the "Circle Of Five" EP, vocalist Laura Guldemond, guitarists Romana Kalkuhl and Larissa Ernst, bassist Jeanine Grob and drummer Lala Frischknecht notably upped the ante on "The Witch Of The North", delivering their most dynamic, intricate and powerful album thus far. Perfectly mixed and mastered by V.O. Pulver and produced by German thrash titan Schmier (DESTRUCTION), the LP sees BURNING WITCHES stick to their irrefutable 1980s influences (JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, DIO, ACCEPT, WARLOCK, W.A.S.P., etc.) and inject irresistible energy and a refreshing vibe, topping it off with classic art by Claudio Bergamín (who illustrated JUDAS PRIEST's triumphant "Firepower"). Finally, PROUD is back after 36 years, stronger than ever, with ten new powerful songs!

PROUD were founded in Landskrona, Sweden in 1982. They started as BURN and were one of many, countless Hard Rock bands that came in the mid-80s. The group changed their name over to PROUD and made an album for EMI which was produced by Caj Hogberg ("Fire Breaks the Dawn"). This album is a rare and often elusive title making it an essential purchase when stumbling upon by fans of classic rock/metal of the 1980s. "Fire Breaks the Dawn" achieved success in Japan and parts of South America both.

In 2019, two of the original band members decided to make a new start! Songwriting and recording took place and soon a new record deal was signed with AOR Heaven.

"Second Act" was recorded and engineered by Richard Larsson at Handsome Hard Studio 1 and 2, produced by PROUD, mixed and mastered by Erik Martensson at Mass Destruction Production and additionally mixed by Thomas "Plec" Johansson at The Panic Room.

Being third studio LP outing as a band, and the second as a member of the Nuclear Blast family, "Dance With The Devil" presents a sound the is both undeniably heavy in nature and largely German in demeanor. One wouldn't be far off to recount the punchy grooves of Accept's "Restless And Wild", along with the modernized speed and fury of Judas Priest's signature sound as interpreted by any one of Primal Fear's more recent offerings, with the impact-based new classic "Rulebreaker" being at the top of said list. The exodus of original vocalist Seraina Telli has done little to blunt the sharpness of their sonic assault, as newly recruited banshee wailer Laura Guldemond (a newcomer to the scene known by some for her brief stint with Dutch symphonic power metal outfit Shadowrise) proves to be more than up for the task, ushering in an intensity factor that is fierce enough to rival Battle Beast's Noora Louhimo on her best day.

Billy Gibbons, celebrated ZZ Top guitarist, vocalist, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, surprises us with his debut solo album, the extremely unique Perfectamundo. Backed by a handpicked group of musicians, dubbed the BFGs (perhaps a nod to Gibbons' initials, rather than a Roald Dahl reference), the album takes on an Afro-Cuban flavour that will probably come as something of a surprise to some of Gibbons' fans and followers. It shouldn't, though, as Latin rhythms are something deeply rooted in the guitarist's life. Tito Puente, a friend of Billy's bandleader dad, taught him some of the essential conga, bongo, maracas, and timbales rhythms way back in his childhood. As he put it himself, signposting the album's clear debt to Latin rhythms, 'banging away on 'em came back like riding on a lost bicycle'. The album contains a mixture of cover versions of blues classics, notably the Afro-Cubanized take on the Lightnin' Hopkins staple 'Baby Please Don't Go', alongside the inimitable Gibbons guitar strut, which is nowhere more present than on 'Pickin' Up Chicks on Dowling Street'.

The idea to re-release Win or Lose on Stockfisch Records came from Gunter Pauler after I had sent him the original master-tape that I had found amongst my archive material. I thought he might be interested, mainly because the original quality of recording was so good. Furthermore, it fell within the parameters of quality that Stockfisch demand from all of their recordings, so we decided to go ahead with the idea, releasing it on the "Analog Pearls" series.

How the original recording came to be;

In the early 80's the standard of vinyl for LPs was bad, as most vinyl was re-cycled which meant it had inherent noise. I decided that the only way to make sure the recordings and pressings were of the quality I wanted was to form my own company, and "go it alone". I had compromised enough, and I decided that I would strive for perfection at every stage of producing an album. I chose the best studio in the north of England, the best cutting studio in Britain and the best pressing plant. When I contacted Nimbus about pressing my album, they said that they would only press records of Classical Music, to which I replied, I would pay whatever their price was. Consequently, my album was the first non-classical record to be pressed by Nimbus.

We recorded and mixed the album from 7th to 13th of September 1984. Most of the recording was "live", with only the harmony vocals over-dubbed (apart from a few keyboard overdubs).

It is almost forty years since that original recording, and although much has changed as regards recording techniques and equipment, I hope the songs have stood the test of time, and you, the listener, will enjoy the result.

Cars play an important role on the second solo album from Rostam Batmanglij, the instrumentalist who gave his former band Vampire Weekend its globe-hopping charm. It makes sense, given the meaning of the made-up title: "Transphobia, biphobia, homophobia-these words hold a weight of threat, and it occurred to me that ... the fears they describe are rooted in a fear of change," Rostam has said. It's almost like as if this record is a map for getting to a new, more open way of thinking, being, living. "Don't wanna be pretty like a girl/ I think I'm pretty much your boy," he sings on the perky "4Runner," an ode to road tripping and finding cooperation in love. The manic rhythm and big-shouldered baritone sax-an interesting new signature for Rostam after a long embrace of cello and harpsichord-of "Kinney" is a rousing push-and-pull against the somnambulistic lyrics: "In your car I fall asleep/ pass out in the front seat/ on the pavement I was half alive/ half ocean, half sky/ half shore, half tide." The record also sometimes feels as if it's not of this world. "These Kids We Knew" starts off sounding underwater, comes more clearly into focus, then continues to bob in and out. Written in a "fever-dream state" while recovering from COVID, the song is about Gen Z putting older generations on trial for not caring enough about global warming and the problems they piled on. "Next Thing" is like a collision of two worlds: It warps abruptly from bouncy NYC jazz pop, with Rostam about to break into knowing laughter ("What makes you think you're any better/ 'Cause you're not/ take a seat and a slot/ on the bus heading West"), into a languid Pacific dream: "The next thing I knew I was in California / It didn't feel strange at all/ Everybody said/ 'I've got to warn you, you won't be back next fall.'" It's absolutely lovely. "From the Back of a Cab" is glitchy and beautiful. "Unfold You"-again with that baritone sax -is breathy, sexy, practically R&B. The hand drums of "Bio18" are meditative. And the pretty, nostalgic closer "Starlight" feels like a modern re-casting of Chet Baker. © Shelly Ridenour/Qobuz

A new era of hope, survival, and prosperity comes calling with the release of CRASH OF THE CROWN, STYX's new studio album, which was written pre-pandemic and recorded during the trying times of the pandemic.
"We've never been a protest band. We're more like a gospel caravan trying to send out positive messages wherever we go," observes CRASH OF THE CROWN co-creator and overall visionary Tommy Shaw, who joined STYX in December 1975 as a guitarist/vocalist and instantly became one of the band's most important songwriters. "In order to share those positive messages, you have to look at what the problems are first to figure out all the ways you can help make sure everything's going to be alright. That's a very important part of how we do what we do.
STYX's holy mission for cutting CRASH OF THE CROWN was crystal-clear to its co-creator from the get-go. }CHALICE OF SIN is a sensational new heavy metal machine masterminded by vocalist Wade Black (Crimson Glory, Seven Witches, Leatherwolf), who started working on new music for the project in 2019. After sharing some music with the Frontiers label, who hooked him up with the label's in-house powerhouse producer Alessandro Del Vecchio, work really began in earnest on Chalice Of Sin. The resulting album is a tremendous example of classic heavy metal sounds akin to Savatage, Crimson Glory, and Metal Church. An absolute must for all lovers of classic heavy metal music from the '80s/early '90s!
For more than two decades, Wade Black has cemented a name for himself in the heavy metal genre by fronting bands like Crimson Glory, Seven Witches, Leatherwolf, Leash Law, and War of Thrones. His voice is featured on more than a dozen albums and he has toured the world, performing at multiple metal festivals.
Wade first came to the attention of the metal community with his band Lucian Blaque, which formed in 1990 and had an initial run through 1995. When Lucian Blaque was put on pause, Wade put his knowledge of vocal techniques to work as an instructor at a music conservatory in Tampa, FL. His ability to soar through a three octave-plus range made him an in-demand instructor for aspiring vocalists of all genres of music.
In 1999, Wade took over as vocalist for the reactivated Florida metallers Crimson Glory, releasing the "Astronomica" album with them. Following a tour in support of the album, the band went on hiatus; however, not being one to rest on past glories, Wade forged ahead. His skills as a vocalist and frontman kept him in demand and he recorded and performed with established underground metal acts such as Seven Witches and Leatherwolf, as well as other collaborations within the metal community.
Now in the 21st century, Wade is prepared to bring the metal to the masses once again with his new project Chalice Of Sin!

}Helloween is the self-titled sixteenth studio album by German power metal band Helloween, released on 18 June 2021.The album is the first released with the "Pumpkins United" line-up, which marked the return of original member Kai Hansen on guitars and vocals and Michael Kiske on vocals in 2016, in addition to the five-member line-up active since 2005.

Helloween is the first album to feature Hansen since 1988's Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part II and the first one with Kiske since 1993's Chameleon. Released six years after its predecessor My God-Given Right (the longest gap between two albums from the band), the album is also the first to feature more than one singer, as Hansen, Kiske and Andi Deris, all of whom had performed as sole lead vocalist on previous albums, share lead vocal duties.

Aggression Continuum features guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder Dino Cazares; drummer Mike Heller; and former vocalist, lyricist, and co-founder Burton C. Bell.

The album was produced and engineered by Damien Rainaud (DRAGONFORCE, ONCE HUMAN), with keyboards by Igor Khoroshev (ex-YES), and programming on two songs from longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY). Vocalist Kent Hilli's debut solo album "The Rumble" is the culmination of the musical path that the Swedish singer started journeying down since he debuted with Swedish melodic rock upstarts Perfect Plan. To craft the album, Kent joined forces with Mike Palace, who produced the album. This musical partnership has turned out to be a "match made in heaven". Mike is an amazing talent and together with Kent they have developed an incredible chemistry that really caught the sound Kent was envisioning for the album.

A diverse album with both rockers and ballads, "The Rumble" is going to be a true delight for melodic rock fans. It is also a very "relationship oriented" album, with lyrics that are coming from a place of personal experience.

The album resounds with the inspiration and influences from Kent's idols like Giant, Foreigner, Survivor, Whitesnake, and Europe, to name a few. That musical style is built in Kent's DNA by now. The legendary voices of Lou Gramm, Jimi Jamison, Dann Huff, David Coverdale, Joe Lynn Turner, and Joey Tempest are Kent's true inspirations and have influenced his vocal style. In modern-day progressive rock, it seems as though there is a new supergroup every few weeks. But long before this was the norm, and before musicians were routinely involved in more than one band, there was Liquid Tension Experiment. Back in 1997, Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Sons of Apollo), John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), and Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), joined forces to create Liquid Tension Experiment. The foursome would released their iconic, self-titled debut album in 1998 and the dazzling follow-up, LTE2 in 1999, creating a dynamic, frantic, and inventive sound all their own. The incredible creativity between the collective would prompt Petrucci and Portnoy to invite Rudess to join Dream Theater, effectively marking the end of this side project. However, since that time, there have been few reunions more in demand. Now, with the world in lockdown and calendars unexpectedly aligned, the inconceivable has finally happened.Liquid Tension Experiment 3.

The 8 songs on the new LTE3 are a mix of 4 fully composed tracks, 2 duets, 1 on-the-fly jam and 1 meticulously arranged cover. "We composed four songs. We realized that that was the same with the first 2 albums. So, this time around we did the same," Portnoy explains. Jordan Rudess agrees, "It felt like a continuation, like we stopped recording LTE2 and walked in a week later we're doing LTE3. I know it's amazing to say, but time has passed in a moment, the blink of an eye, the chemistry is the chemistry, and it didn't change. It was great back then and it still is." Petrucci comments: "Who would think that a bunch of guys our age would be playing like that? It's relentless. It's definitely like a statement, you know we're back. It follows in the Liquid Tension Experiment tradition absolutely, which is, that when you press play, it steamrolls you."
