At the heart of the sixties, the British Invasion and its raging rhythm'n'blues ruled the kingdom. But this didn't prevent some groups from offering up an alternative. Buffalo Springfield is one of those groups, led by Stephen Stills, Neil Young and Richie Furay and completed by bassist Bruce Palmer and drummer Dewey Martin. From their eponymous first album, Buffalo Springfield, which appeared at the end of 1966, their attention was turned towards folk-rock, psychedelic, country (like with Go And Say Goodbye) and even pop (with Sit Down I Think I Love You). It's a cocktail that often touches the sublime (like the protest hit song For What It's Worth by Stills) and remains the cornerstone of 60's folk rock, just like the ballad Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing by Neil Young. This atypical group remains especially fascinating for the assortment of its strong personalities. Though it was exactly for that reason that the group came to an end. As early as their second album release in November 1967 (Buffalo Springfield Again) the cracks began to show - notably between Stills and Young who were fighting over artistic direction. Each leader signed his own themes, like Broken Arrow, Mr Soul and Expecting To Fly for the Canadian and Bluebird for the American... With the aptly named Last Time Around, Buffalo Springfield took its final bow, with Neil Young even jumping ship before the end of the recording of this third opus that was released during the summer of 1968. Even the album cover is in fact a montage simulating a group shot... From there after, the various members found further success independently: Neil Young took off solo, Richie Furay went on to form the band Poco and Stills joined David Crosby and Graham Nash for the trio Crosby, Stills & Nash... This 5CD box set brings together the stereo mixes of the three albums and the mono mixes of Buffalo Springfield and Buffalo Springfield Again, all remastered from the original analogue tapes under the direction of Neil Young. Prior to the 2015 collection Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy: The Very Best of Bad Company, there were only two Bad Company compilations in release: the lean 1985 set 10 from 6, arriving a full six years after their last hit album, and 1999's The Original Bad Company Anthology, a 33-track double-disc set that dug deep into the group's golden years of 1974-1982. Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy occupies a much-needed middle ground, providing 19 songs on a generous single disc. This, like The Original Bad Company Anthology, focuses solely on the six albums Bad Company cut for Swan Song, which means there's nothing from their late-'80s/early-'90s run on Atco, even though "No Smoke Without a Fire," "Holy Water," "If You Needed Somebody," and "How About That" are also owned by WEA and could easily have been included. So, this is all a matter of aesthetics: a decision to highlight the band's big, brawny arena rockers, the best of which ("Can't Get Enough," "Bad Company," "Ready for Love," "Feel Like Makin' Love," "Shooting Star," "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy") are quintessential classic rock staples. The remaining 13 songs here -- including lesser-known singles "Movin' On," "Good Lovin' Gone Bad," "Honey Child," and "Gone, Gone, Gone," along with a representative portion of album cuts -- show how Bad Company offered more than those well-known songs, how they moved with a steady macho assurance that stripped British blues-rock down to the loud, churning basics.

Storm Season emerged from a perfect storm of chaos. White Willow's fourth studio album marked a bold shift, taking a heavier, more metallic turn compared to their earlier releases. Its creation reflected turbulence both within the band and in the world around them. The intensity of the music nearly tore apart the Norwegian prog rock pioneers, even leading to the departure of vocalist Sylvia Erichsen for several years. Yet, out of this turmoil came their breakthrough. "We wanted to create an album that felt like a storm-a reflection of the turmoil in the world with climate change and political unrest, and also within our own lives," explains guitarist and bandleader Jacob Holm-Lupo.

The first album of Amos Ghirardelli, 63 years old with forty years of musical career behind him.
And it's a record that opens the heart to lovers of the great PROG, descending by direct line from the great furrow drawn by the big English and Italian groups in the first half of the 70s.
It is an excellent music, performed in a sensational way by amazing musicians and that revolves, as tradition requires to these projects, around a precise "concept" which is perfectly summed up in the title of the album, FREE WILL, as well as in the lyrics sung at the end of the long initial suite that bears the title of the album.

Five years after the previous "In/Out", Fabio Zuffanti returns to the music scene with the new solo album "Hjarta", his winter music record. Six songs influenced, from every point of view, by elements that characterize the cold season. With melodies and arrangements that combine algid songwriting, rainy electronics, snowy psychedelia and wide symphonic moments like flashes of sunshine in the frost.

"Hjarta" ("Heart" in Icelandic) released on December 21, 2024, the day of the winter solstice. The title comes from a poem by italian writer Tommaso Labranca that Zuffanti soundtracked during a reading with him, in 2010
