Michael "Whip" Wilton, the guitar legend and founding member of Queensrÿche, is back with a vengeance. Volume 1, the debut album from his new solo project Whip, is a fiery return to form for Wilton, pairing his classic riff-driven sound with and updated approach. Joined by powerhouse Seattle vocalist Mark Winterman, drummer Sonny Sudra, and bassist Hodgy, Wilton delivers the goods with nine tracks that pack a punch with precision.

Fans of Wilton's Queensrÿche days will instantly recognize his trademark guitar style. The intricate riffs, melodic solos, and his ability to draw emotion from seemingly every note. But Volume 1 doesn't rest on past glories. Songs like "Burning Bright" and "Echoes Of The Fire" showcase a willingness to live in the moment, both hard-hitting rhythms with dynamic vocal performances from Winterman, whose commanding range adds an edge to every verse and chorus.

"Volume 1 was about exploring new possibilities while staying true to what I love about making music," Wilton explains. That philosophy is evident in the album's best moments, like the anthemic "Through The Veil," which layers Wilton's shredding with Sudra's driving drums and Hodgy's basslines. Wilton's ability to think outside the box shines in his arrangements. Tracks transition seamlessly from soaring melodies to crushing breakdowns, all while maintaining a singular vision. It's all proof of what an important part he plays in Queensrÿche's sound.

Swiss rock legend Marc Storace's own band announce the album reissue of their first record "Live And Let Live", in a special edition including a bonus live album, out on December 13th, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Talking about the release, Storace comments:

"Krokus had stopped to exist because of Covid and no one really knew what the outcome of the pandemic would be, so not wasting time I started working on a solo album! "Live And Let Live" is rich in melodic vocals, colourful riffs, great guitar solos, many hooks and a solid driving rhythm section!!"

About the Bonus Live Album, Marc notes:

"During the past three intensive years playing throughout Switzerland we recorded many gigs and the live album features the best of the crop, highlighting songs we recorded during hot performances in Zürich's Hallenstadion as special guests of KISS, and The Scorpions, and whilst sharing the famous "Rock The Ring Festival" stage with Alice Cooper and his notorious band".

"Included on the setlist are songs from Krokus which we never play, like "Midnite Maniac" and "To The Top"; also a beefed up version of "Telephone Man" from my late seventies London band Eazy Money", he continues.

Included on our debut album, "Sever Roots, Tree Dies" (released in 1988) was an anomalous little number entitled, "Heaven." Even though it stuck out like a sore thumb on that "primarily prog" release, it received very little attention at the time. Given that it truly is a one-of-a-kind song in our catalog, it has been a pleasure whenever it's reared its head in our live performances over the years; and so seldom are these instances that they can easily be enumerated here: We played it in its nascent (and instrumental) form at our second show ever, in 1988, at a fancy little venue in Chicago, called "Limelight."Jef Bek stepped in on drums (and killed it) on 8/26/92, at Metro in Chicago, where Thymme sang it live for the first time; and then we played it at Empty Bottle, on 4/26/97, with Pat Samson on drums; and, finally, fast-forwarding more than a decade and a half later, we whipped it out at Mayne Stage, on 6/22/13, with Sacha Mullin handling the vocals. And that's it! Suddenly, in 2023, we began to play the song with some frequency. An entity known as "DroneLayer" began to inhabit the song's ghostly vocals, and the band (with a few more members than can be heard on the original studio version) turned every rendition into an adventure (making good use of the "free" moments in the song).
