Recorded December 30, 2016 in their hometown of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Vanden Plas put forth an epic performance in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The bulk of the setlist is based on the two "Chronicles Of The Immortals" albums (2013 and 2014, respectively) and additionally, includes tracks that have never been played live before, like the atmospheric "Scarlet Flower Fields" and "The Final Murder", which reveals itself to be a captivating 11 minute monster. Fans can also expect all-time favorites from the band's repertoire like "Holes In The Sky", "Iodic Rain", "Postcard To God", and "Christ 0".

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by the long-time Vanden Plas sound engineer Markus Teske at Bazement Studios, "Live & Immortal", delivers a clear, powerful sound which brings the live feeling through the speakers straight into your eagerly awaiting ears. Oliver Barth, who worked with the band on their music videos for "Stone Roses Edge" and "When The World Is Falling Down", filmed the show. Editing was done by Bjorn Widmann and Andreas Lill.

Last year saw the release of Portuguese gothic metallers MOONSPELL's thirteenth album Hermitage, the first in their near thirty year career that did not feature original drummer Miguel Gaspar. Whilst the true nature of his leaving is unknown, the band have stated in interviews that it was mutual, however that didn't mean Gaspar wasn't in a position where he could immediately move on. After some time soul-searching and healing, however, he's returned with his new project SEVENTH STORM

Gaspar wrote and arranged the entire record, which is no easy task in itself for someone who, despite his pedigree, has never undertaken such a task before, however it's even more staggering when you delve into the record and realise - quite quickly - that this is not a straightforward listen. Nine tracks long and nearly an hour in length, Maledictus takes every bit of knowledge Gaspar has at his disposal and shows his vision in grandiose fashion.

Regardless of the reasons that led to Mike Gaspar's departure from MOONSPELL, if SEVENTH STORM are to continue in this vein then fans of gothic metal will be very satisfied. Maledictus is a good, solid debut album with a number of interesting ideas and expertly delivered, which is to be expected given the mastermind behind the project. It'll be fun to see where they develop on future releases.

„Onwards Into Poseidons Fangs" is our first record and the title track was actually the first song we've written as a band and built the foundation of our sound and the stories we tell. Intentionally the band was formed to go more in a jam-based blues rock direction, but as time went on our style gradually turned more and more into a mixture of Psychedelic, Blues and Hard Rock, which you can hear on the record. Most of the lyrics are inspired by Homer's „Odysee", but also by love and current topics.
„Onwards Into Poseidons Fangs" was recorded in December 2021, most of the rhythm parts were tracked live with minimal micing for a vintage sheen. Some guitar and vocal parts were overdubbed later. The record is produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by ourselves, we are really satisfied with the sonic outcome. Huge thanks go out to Marty Sennewald for the keys on the title track which brought a new dimension to this track.
We hope you enjoy our debut, it won't be the last for sure. We already started writing on new Odysses tunes!

This is the album where Jeff Lynne finally found the sound he'd wanted since co-founding Electric Light Orchestra three years earlier. Up to this point, most of the group's music had been self-contained -- Lynne, Richard Tandy, et al., providing whatever was needed, vocally or instrumentally, even if it meant overdubbing their work layer upon layer. Lynne saw the limitations of this process, however, and opted for the presence of an orchestra -- it was only 30 pieces, but the result was a much richer musical palette than the group had ever had to work with, and their most ambitious and successful record up to that time. Indeed, Eldorado was strongly reminiscent in some ways of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Not that it could ever have the same impact or be as distinctive, but it had its feet planted in so many richly melodic and varied musical traditions, yet made it all work in a rock context, that it did recall the Beatles classic. It was a very romantic work, especially on the opening "Eldorado Overture," which was steeped in a wistful 1920s/1930s notion of popular fantasy (embodied in movies and novels like James Hilton's Lost Horizon and Somerset Maugham's The Razor's Edge) about disillusioned seekers. It boasted Lynne's best single up to that time, "Can't Get It Out of My Head," which most radio listeners could never get out of their respective heads, either. The integration of the orchestra would become even more thorough on future albums, but Eldorado was notable for mixing the band and orchestra (and a choir) in ways that did no violence to the best elements of both.

"Bombay Calling" was recorded in early 1995 and is one of the first shows Deep Purple played with Steve Morse showcasing his virtuosic guitar skills and some of the new material would later make it onto the widely celebrated studio album "Purpendicular". Astonishingly, the long thought lost master tapes for this unforgettable show in Mumbai were found lying around in an old cardboard box in November 1999.

A true gem for any fan, offering a rare insight into the extraordinary talents of this phenomenal rock band. Considering that Steve Morse only had played with Deep Purple a couple of times before, the raw power he lends to the classic songs is remarkable. The Indian press gave the concert rave reviews, with many claiming it to be the best rock show ever staged in India.

If you've listened to music in the last 50 years, you were likely hearing David Paich. Besides being the co-founder of iconic rockband Toto, he has contributed to more than 2,000 albums. Music is the soundtrack of our lives, and David is one of its architects. With his diverse catalogue, he has been kicking around song ideas for a solo album for some time. The COVID lockdown presented Paich the opportunity to revisit those songs and the result is a collection of tunes that he has carried in his head for years.

For as much as it may be a "solo" album, Paich couldn't help but invite a few friends to play. Joined by Joseph Williams as co-producer and sometimes co-vocalist, he welcomed everyone, from Toto's Steve Lukather to Brian Eno, Michael McDonald, Ray Parker Jr., Don Felder and Steve Jordan of The Rolling Stones.

The album cover artwork provides a poetically nostalgic representation of the concept. It features a variety of memories Paich's wife has held onto over the years. "I hope this will give everyone a glimpse into another side of me, one they've never heard in a musical context."

Music is the soundtrack of our life. For David, music is much more than the soundtrack of his life. As one of its architects, it is his life.

Whether you love them or hate them, the members of Journey continue to make music that is right in the groove of AOR and mass-appeal playlists. With each album, the San Francisco group gains more momentum and Escape continues that trend.

History has been kind to Escape. As far back as 1988 the readers of Kerrang! voted it AOR's greatest album, and there it remains, probably in perpetuity. But beyond the confines of genre it has enjoyed an afterlife bathed in nostalgia for the version of American youth that it captured, a time long gone except in the memory.

"Escape was a groundbreaking album for San Francisco's Journey, charting three singles inside Billboard's Top Ten, with "Don't Stop Believing" reaching number nine, "Who's Crying Now" number four, and "Open Arms" peaking at number two and holding there for six weeks. Escape flung Journey steadfastly into the AOR arena, combining Neal Schon's grand yet palatable guitar playing with Jonathan Cain's blatant keyboards. All this was topped off by the passionate, wide-ranged vocals of Steve Perry, who is the true lifeblood of this album, and this band. The songs on Escape are more rock-flavored, with more hooks and a harder cadence compared to their former sound. "Who's Crying Now" spotlights the sweeping fervor of Perry's voice, whose theme about the ups and downs of a relationship was plentiful in Journey's repertoire. With "Don't Stop Believing," the whisper of Perry's ardor is crept up to with Schon's searing electric guitar work, making for a perfect rock song. One of rock's most beautiful ballads, "Open Arms," gleams with an honesty and feel only Steve Perry could muster. Outside of the singles, there is a certain electricity that circulates through the rest of the album. The songs are timeless, and as a whole, they have a way of rekindling the innocence of youthful romance and the rebelliousness of growing up, built from heartfelt songwriting and sturdy musicianship." Esthesis is a progressive & alternative rock project formed and led by French multi-instrumentalist Aurélien Goude (music, lyrics, keyboards, vocals, guitars, bass and other stuff). Cass McCombs is an artist that has always eluded definition. Many of his albums have revolved around folk rock, though McCombs has persistently embellished them with his brand of psychedelia influenced by the many branches of international music.

With his new album Heartmind, McCombs further showcases his versatility as a musician, something he has been doing since the arrival of his debut album, A, in 2003. Heartmind delivers a contrast that never lets us get comfortable with just one style whilst simultaneously comforting us on a journey through McCombs' recent experiences.

McCombs had suffered tragedy over the past few years, and he wistfully commented on the thematic nature of the album: "I made this album as a way to handle the loss of some close friends. Their memories guided me throughout, and hopefully, they live through the music. Strange to realise, it wasn't them who were lost; it was me".Heartmind is a beautiful record that will sit comfortably amongst some of McCombs' best. It showcases his versatility as a musician, intrigues audiences as to what direction he will go in next, and creates anticipation for his upcoming live shows.

The album was recorded across multiple sessions in Brooklyn, New York City and Burbank, California. It was mixed by Rob Schnapf, who produced McCombs' Mangy Love album.

In 2021, Sweden's Crowne unleashed their debut album "Kings In The North", which fully delivered on the promise of the combination of the members' pedigrees.
