• Things We Do At Night (Live From Texas) is a live album and concert film by [b]Blue October. It is their second concert film, fourth live album, and eleventh album overall. The album was recorded over Thanksgiving weekend, November 28-29, 2014 at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas. The set features fan favorites and hit songs from the albums Foiled, Approaching Normal, Any Man in America, and Sway, which were released since the band's previous concert film Argue with a Tree... in 2004. The album, which was put out on Blue October's label Up/Down Records and distributed by Megaforce Records was released to online digital retail outlets as well as on CD, DVD and Blu-ray formats on November 20, 2015. The album takes its name from the song "Things We Do At Night" from the Sway album, which the band played to close their concerts on each night of the Sway tour.

• When the last notes rang out in the Dublin o2 on Saturday 12 April 2014, the 9000 fans packing the venue knew that they were witness to the end of something special. The reunion that nobody thought would ever be possible did happen, but now the itch was scratched and that particular book was closed. On August 29th 2014, the band will commemorate one very special night with the release of 'The Frantic Four's Final Fling - Live At The Dublin 02 Arena' on 2CD, double vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray formats, through earMUSIC / Edel. As well as the full concert, the visual formats will contain a bonus fourteen track CD made of highlights recorded across the final tour of March / April. The Blu-ray format also has, as a bonus feature, the documentary made by Sky News' Ian Woods entitled 'The Final Fling?'
• When the original line-up of Status Quo reunited for a 9-date UK tour in March 2013 the outpouring of approval and raw emotion from the fans was incredible. public demand made the final tour of 2014 mandatory and it was just as emotional - and by now the band were an even tighter unit. Rossi, Parfitt, Lancaster and Coghlan received a rapturous response; the band clicked straight back into their groove, the chemistry obvious, the music stunning and the volume almost overpowering. It all led to Dublin; the final show of the final tour. Ever.
• The Frantic Four tours were highlights in a career that has seen Quo achieve more than anyone dreamed possible. The Times said, "It sounded fantastic. And they, like us, were clearly getting a tremendous kick out of revisiting these long-neglected songs." Classic Rock said, quite simply, "Fuck me, dreams can come true"! Roger Waters' album Amused to Death returns in a remastered release from Columbia Records / Legacy Recordings. Amused to Death sounded the alarm about a society increasingly - and unthinkingly - in thrall to its television screens. Twenty-three years later, Amused to Death speaks to our present moment in ways that could scarcely have been anticipated two decades ago.
"I'm remembering the record from [over] 20 years ago, that most of what I had to say then sadly still pertains today and is maybe even more relevant to our predicament as people in 2015 even than it was in 1992," says Roger Waters.
An unblinking look at an entertainment-obsessed society, Amused to Death addresses issues that have only grown in complexity and urgency over the past two decades. In 2015, television is just one option in an endless array of distractions available to us anytime, anywhere, courtesy of our laptops, tablets and smartphones. With eyes glued to our screens, the dilemmas and injustices of the real world can easily recede from view. The 2015 editions of Amused to Death feature a new 5.1 surround remix of the album on high-definition Blu-ray audio and a new remastered stereo mix completed by longtime Roger Waters / Pink Floyd collaborator and co-producer, James Guthrie. The cover and gatefold art has been updated for 2015 by Sean Evans, the creative director of Waters' 2010-2013 "The Wall Live" tour and movie.
Produced by Roger Waters and Patrick Leonard, Amused to Death is a musically ambitious work featuring a stellar lineup of musicians. Guitar legend Jeff Beck figures prominently on the album, bringing his signature virtuosity to eight songs. Guest vocalists include Don Henley ("It's a Miracle"), Rita Coolidge ("Amused to Death") and soul singer P.P. Arnold ("Perfect Sense" Parts I and II). Also contributing were Waters' longtime collaborators, guitarist Andy Fairweather Low and drummer Graham Broad; percussionist Luis Conte; and Pat Leonard, who played keyboards on several tracks. The album reunited Waters with composer/arranger Michael Kamen, who supervised orchestral arrangements for The Wall, Waters' semi-autographical concept album with Pink Floyd. Kamen arranged and conducted the National Philharmonic Orchestra Limited's contributions to the songs "Too Much Rope" and "What God Wants, Part III."

Suede will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their incredible second album 'Dog Man Star', with a special limited edition box set. Purchasers from this store will receive the very limited (500 worldwide) alternative sleeve version, plus 'Stay Together' on 12" vinyl. 'Dog Man Star' has consistently been voted one of the seminal albums of the 90s. It produced the singles 'The Wild Ones', 'We Are the Pigs' and 'New Generation', as well as the critic and fan favourite epic 'The Asphalt World'.

Instead of following through on the Bowie-esque glam stomps of their debut, Suede concentrated on their darker, more melodramatic tendencies on their ambitious second album, Dog Man Star. By all accounts, the recording of Dog Man Star was plagued with difficulties -- Brett Anderson wrote the lyrics in a druggy haze while sequestered in a secluded Victorian mansion, while Bernard Butler left before the album was completed -- which makes its singular vision all the more remarkable. Lacking any rocker on the level of "The Drowners" or "Metal Mickey" -- only the crunching "This Hollywood Life" comes close -- Dog Man Star is a self-indulgent and pretentious album of dark, string-drenched epics. But Suede are one of the few bands who wear pretensions well, and after a few listens, the album becomes thoroughly compelling. Nearly every song on the record is hazy, feverish, and heartbroken, and even the rockers have an insular, paranoid tenor that heightens the album's melancholy. The whole record would have collapsed underneath its own intentions if Butler's compositional skills weren't so subtly nuanced and if Anderson's grandiose poetry wasn't so strangely affecting. As it stands, Dog Man Star is a strangely seductive record, filled with remarkable musical peaks, from the Bowie-esque stomp of "New Generation" to the stately ballads "The Wild Ones" and "Still Life," which are both reminiscent of Scott Walker. And while Suede may choose to wear their influences on their sleeve, they synthesize them in a totally original way, making Dog Man Star a singularly tragic and romantic album. --AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

In March 2015 the band played an acoustic tour of Cathedrals in the UK that culminated in a sold out show in the impressive Liverpool Cathedral, the band's hometown. Having previously worked with Anathema on their acclaimed 'Universal' concert film, Lasse Hoile captured the 100 minute acoustic set in high definition against the sensational backdrop of Liverpool Cathedral. Featuring 15 songs selected from the albums Distant Satellites, Weather Systems, We're Here Because We're Here, A Natural Disaster and Alternative 4, the 'Anathema Acoustic' trio of Daniel Cavanagh, Vincent Cavanagh and Lee Douglas were joined by rhythm section John Douglas & Jamie Cavanagh, alongside their very talented close friend David Wesling on cello who also played on Hindsight (2009) and A Moment In Time (2006). For this exclusive performance the band were also joined by the renowned violinist, Anna Phoebe on a haunting rendition of 'Anathema'. The audio has been produced and mixed by Christer-Andre Cederberg who worked on Distant Satellites, Universal and Weather Systems, with the cover and booklet artwork featuring the stunning photography from the show and behind the scenes by long time collaborator Caroline Traitler. This is the first Anathema live release to feature a 5.1 audio mix, engineered by Bruce Soord.

Together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal" in the early to mid-Seventies. One of the most influential and important guitar bands in history, they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

"Made In Japan" was recorded live over three nights during 15-17 August 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka and Budokan, Tokyo. Four of the tracks come from the band's 1972 "Machine Head" album. It featured what many consider the classic Deep Purple lineup - Ian Gillan (Vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitars), Roger Glover (Bass), Jon Lord (Organ) and Ian Paice (Drums). Originally recorded only for the Japanese market, the album has since become seen as one of Deep Purple's seminal albums, and one of the greatest live albums of all time (A Rolling Stone magazine readers poll in 2012 voted "Made In Japan" as the sixth greatest live album of all time).

• On March 18th, 2014; Dennis DeYoung, the legendary front man of Styx and author of five key songs that define that band's career, returned to Los Angeles for the first time during his solo career to a sold out show at the El Rey Theater.
In just a few short hours of the show's announcement, tickets sold out at an astounding fan appreciation price of just five dollars. With gratitude to fans that have supported DeYoung over the years, the show was truly a gift of thanks to long-time fans that haven't seen him perform outside of Styx in Los Angeles, ever.
• With doors opening at 8:00 pm, fans lined the sidewalk starting in the 6 o'clock hour on Wilshire Boulevard with tickets in hand and the buzz was about what songs the band might perform. Photos and reviews of the previous show in Joliet, IL had revealed guitarist August Zadra taking the vocal lead on select songs and fans shared the amazing sound of the band being so close to the record it was guaranteed hit all the right chords with lifelong fans! Still, what patrons would get tonight was an absolute surprise.
• Opening the show with "The Grand Illusion," the band performed for an hour and a half, and had DeYoung interacting with the crowd. On two occasions he was handed items that from the audience that he shared with fans. One was a copy of the Styx "Paradise Theater" album, on vinyl, and another was a fan-made sign requesting a personal song favorite - "Desert Moon."

The Endless River is the fifteenth studio album by British progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Produced by David Gilmour, Youth, Andy Jackson and Phil Manzanera, the album was released by Parlophone and Columbia Records respectively in Friday-release countries on 7 November 2014 and will be released in the United Kingdom on 10 November 2014. It is Pink Floyd's first studio album since the death of keyboardist and founding member Richard Wright, who appears posthumously, and the third by the Gilmour-led Pink Floyd after Roger Waters' departure in 1985. It is the first Pink Floyd album distributed by Parlophone and Warner Bros. Records following the purchase of EMI and its assets by the Universal Music Group in 2012, their transfer to Parlophone and the purchase of Parlophone by Warner Bros. in 2013.
Described as a "swan song" for Wright, The Endless River mostly comprises instrumental and ambient music. It is based on 20 hours of unreleased material the band wrote, recorded and produced with Wright during sessions for Pink Floyd's previous studio album The Division Bell (1994). It was finished in Gilmour's studios, the Astoria and Medina Studios in Hove, England, in 2013 and 2014. Reaction to the news of a new Pink Floyd album had been mostly positive, while the album itself received mixed reviews.
Information about the The Endless River was leaked via social media, after which Pink Floyd made a formal announcement. The band, Parlophone and Columbia Records (outside Europe) launched a promotional campaign in the lead-up to its release with television advertisements and installations of the album artwork placed in cities around the world, including London, New York, Paris, Berlin and Milan. The cover concept is by Ahmed Emad Eldin with sleeve design by Stylorouge. Aubrey Powell served as creative director for the artwork.

Especially when what happens next endures the test of time. For Devo, the beginning happened in the basements and garages of Akron, Ohio. The songs they wrote were raw and unfiltered with no commercial intent. They called it Hardcore Devo. 'Rattle That Lock' is the new solo album by David Gilmour, the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd. This is David's fourth solo album, and the first since 2006's #1 album 'On An Island'. The primary lyricist for 'Rattle That Lock' is Gilmour s long-term writing partner, Polly Samson, and the album is co-produced by David Gilmour and Roxy Music s Phil Manzanera. The album's striking cover has been art directed by Dave Stansbie.
The lead single of this album is the title track, 'Rattle That Lock'. The song begins with the four notes, created by Michael Boumendil, which precede announcements at French SNCF railway stations which Gilmour recorded on his iphone at Aix station. Samson s lyrics are inspired by Book 2 of John Milton s Paradise Lost, which is also featured in her recent acclaimed novel, The Kindness. The single also features the Liberty Choir and singers Mica Paris and Louise Marshall.

Some time in their recent past Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers took a left turn. Maybe it was when Petty woke up in the night with the idea of reuniting his first band, Mudcrutch, to cut the album they never got a chance to make back in the early '70s. Maybe it was when the Heartbreakers assembled the mammoth multi-disc The Live Anthology, which detailed thirty years of concerts. Maybe it was when they gave all their home movies, outtakes and live footage to director Peter Bogdanovich to create the Grammy-winning four-hour career documentary Runnin' Down A Dream. There have been side projects and experiments since the band last went into the studio to cut a new Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album. With MOJO, they have taken their recent freedom and experimentation to heart. They have gone off the reservation and all signs indicate they aren't coming back.

The first thing that hits you about MOJO is that the spirit of the Mudcrutch sessions has carried on with the Heartbreakers. This is the sound of a band playing together in a room - not a studio - facing each other, all singing and playing at the same time. The music is alive, with no overdubs or studio trickery. What you hear is what they created on the spot at that time.
Tom Petty says, "With this album, I want to show other people what I hear with the band. MOJO is where the band lives when it's playing for itself."
As for the songs, MOJO showcases a wide variety of American music from rock 'n' roll to country and both electric and acoustic blues. And then there are the images in Petty's lyrics which slip in on the melodies and set up a home in your head: The barefoot girl in the high grass chewing on a stick of sugar cane, the run-in with the law that begins when a carload of buddies decide to party with the motel maids, and the hilariously audacious idea of opening an album with an electric blues rocker about Thomas Jefferson's love affair with Sally Hemings. Petty would probably chuck a rock at anyone who called him a poet, but he sure is a southern writer of humor and sensitivity.
MOJO has juice and guts but it also has some sweet balladry for the slow dancers and even a whacked-out reggae number that is unlike anything that Heartbreakers have done before. It's the kind of album nobody's supposed to be able to make anymore. It got here just in time.

This Blu-ray disc contains all 15 tracks from the Mojo album in high-resolution 48kHz 24 bit PCM stereo and DTS-HD Master audio 5.1 surround sound. It is an audio-only disc, with basic navigation and song information displayed on screen.
The 48K 24 bit audio on this disc has 256 times more resolution than a CD, providing greater detail and reproducing the music's full
dynamic range, from the softest to the loudest sounds. To achieve full dynamic range it's necessary to master with less overall level, so this disc might not sound as 'loud' as a standard CD or film soundtrack. To compensate for this, turn up the volume!
The screensaver switches song information to non-static images of the cover art 30 seconds after each song begins.

• The Retinal Circus is a live album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend. It was released on September 30, 2013, in Europe, and on October 29, 2013, in North America. The audio and video material were recorded at Roundhouse, London, on October 27, 2012, when Townsend performed a special one-night-only concert celebrating and covering his 20-year musical career.
• The concert lasted approximately three hours, and it was divided into two parts, with an intermission in between.The band consisted of the same personnel as the recent years' Devin Townsend Project line-up, and the special guests were Anneke van Giersbergen and Jed Simon, with Steve Vai.The setlist was focused heavily on material from Epicloud and a few other albums from Townsend's catalogue; the setlist included no songs from Terria, Accelerated Evolution, Ki and Ghost. Townsend also performed, against his current principles,two Strapping Young Lad songs. He later stated that this was because of the career-spanning nature of the concert, and playing those two songs was a "closure for him and Strapping Young Lad". He also wanted to "respect the legacy of the band" and to reconnect and perform again with Jed Simon.

Eagle Rock delivers the goods with this previously unreleased live concert performance from Dio at a 1993 show at London's Hammersmith Apollo in 1993 on the last night of their European tour in support of the Strange Highways album. Sporting a lineup of Ronnie James Dio (vocals), Vinnie Appice (drums), Jeff Pilson (bass), Tracy G (guitar) and Scott Warren (keyboards), the concert features tracks from the then current album, plus Dio classics like the fan favorite "Holy Diver" as well as numbers from Ronnie's time in Black Sabbath and Rainbow.
As far as metal concerts go, this one is not a disappointment. Buzz saw guitars, relentless drums, and Ronnie James Dio's fine vocalism carry a powerful performance of gothic-tinged metal that should be satisfying for headbangers of all ages.

Hypnotic Eye will be the 13th studio album from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Released on July 29th, 2014, Hypnotic Eye is the first album from the band in four years. "I knew I wanted to do a rock & roll record," Petty told Rolling Stone in April. "We hadn't made a straight hard-rockin' record, from beginning to end, in a long time."

When Tom Petty emerged in the mid-Seventies, he was the perfect down-to-earth rock star for the times: a hungry Southern boy playing tight rock & roll in mellow Southern California, kicking against the era's soft-bellied complacency with hard-jangling realness. On Hypnotic Eye, the 63-year-old and his eternal Heartbreakers return to the scrappy heat of those early days with their toughest, most straight-up rocking record in many years, deepened by veteran perspective. "I feel like a four letter word," Petty sings on "Forgotten Man," which sounds like "American Girl" remade as a Bo Diddley roof-rumbler. You can be sure as shit that four letter word isn't "darn" or "rats"

• 2014: "The Sunflower Jam" is a now a regular sold out event. The fourth one at the Royal Albert Hall. A night of great music but also an explosion of joy and will to live. Jon Lord sadly passed away in 2012. Just a few weeks before the release of the just finished remake of what is universally known as the first ever meeting of classical music and rock. The "Concerto For Group and Orchestra". The same composition that Purple played live in 1969 at the Royal Albert Hall. Considering the amount of respect, friendship and love expressed on any occasion by anybody who had worked, played or simply met Jon Lord, it is not a surprise that the 2014 Jam would be dedicated totally to his music. The night turned out to be an historical moment in rock music: A full orchestra, a director - Paul Mann - crazy enough to give wonderful arrangements to a repertoire going back and forth through fifty years of music, many old friends for an unforgettable night. Nevermind was never meant to change the world, but you can never predict when the zeitgeist will hit, and Nirvana's 1991 Nevermind turned out to be the place where alternative rock crashed into the mainstream.
No matter how much anguish there is on Nevermind is bracing because Kurt Cobain exorcises his demons through evocative wordplay and mangled screams paired with the band's a tremendous, unbridled power that transcends the pain, turning into pure catharsis. And that's as key to the record's success as Cobain's songwriting, since Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl help turn this into music that is gripping, powerful, and even fun (and, really, there's no other way to characterize "Territorial Pissings" or the surging "Breed").
Nevermind immediately became a smash hit, quickly selling out its initial shipment of 50,000 copies and creating a shortage across America. What helped the record become a success was "Smells Like Teen Spirit," a blistering four-chord rocker that was accompanied by a video that shot into heavy MTV rotation. By the beginning of 1992, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" had climbed into the American Top Ten and Nevermind bumped Michael Jackson's much-touted comeback album Dangerous off the top of the album charts; it reached the British Top Ten shortly afterward. By February, the album had been certified triple platinum.

In Utero is the third and final studio album by the American grunge band Nirvana, released on September 13, 1993, on DGC Records. Nirvana intended the record to diverge significantly from the polished production of its previous album, Nevermind (1991). To capture a more abrasive and natural sound, the group hired producer Steve Albini to record In Utero during a two-week period in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The music was recorded quickly with few studio embellishments, and the song lyrics and album packaging incorporated medical imagery that conveyed frontman Kurt Cobain's outlook on his publicized personal life and his band's newfound fame.

Soon after recording was completed, rumors circulated in the press that DGC might not release the album in its original state, as the record label felt that the result was not commercially viable. Although Nirvana publicly denied the statements, the group was not fully satisfied with the sound Albini had captured. Albini declined to alter the album further, and ultimately the band hired Scott Litt to make minor changes to the album's sound and remix the singles "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies".

Upon release, In Utero entered the Billboard 200 chart at number one and received critical acclaim as a drastic departure from Nevermind. The record has been certified five times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and has sold 15 million copies worldwide.

Wishing to escape the superstar expectations that sank Blind Faith before it was launched, Eric Clapton retreated with several sidemen from Delaney & Bonnie to record the material that would form Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. From these meager beginnings grew his greatest album. Duane Allman joined the band shortly after recording began, and his spectacular slide guitar pushed Clapton to new heights. Then again, Clapton may have gotten there without him, considering the emotional turmoil he was in during the recording. He was in hopeless, unrequited love with Patti Boyd, the wife of his best friend, George Harrison, and that pain surges throughout Layla, especially on its epic title track. But what really makes Layla such a powerful record is that Clapton, ignoring the traditions that occasionally painted him into a corner, simply tears through these songs with burning, intense emotion. He makes standards like "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" and "Nobody Knows You (When You're Down and Out)" into his own, while his collaborations with Bobby Whitlock -- including "Any Day" and "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?" -- teem with passion. And, considering what a personal album Layla is, it's somewhat ironic that the lovely coda "Thorn Tree in the Garden" is a solo performance by Whitlock, and that the song sums up the entire album as well as "Layla" itself. --Stephen Thomas Erlewine

• 2014: "The Sunflower Jam" is a now a regular sold out event. The fourth one at the Royal Albert Hall. A night of great music but also an explosion of joy and will to live. Jon Lord sadly passed away in 2012. Just a few weeks before the release of the just finished remake of what is universally known as the first ever meeting of classical music and rock. The "Concerto For Group and Orchestra". The same composition that Purple played live in 1969 at the Royal Albert Hall. Considering the amount of respect, friendship and love expressed on any occasion by anybody who had worked, played or simply met Jon Lord, it is not a surprise that the 2014 Jam would be dedicated totally to his music. The night turned out to be an historical moment in rock music: A full orchestra, a director - Paul Mann - crazy enough to give wonderful arrangements to a repertoire going back and forth through fifty years of music, many old friends for an unforgettable night. The Albert Hall sold out to the last seat...
• Jon's big musical loves were in the room, once again: same venue, many years later, many of the same people involved, a million times more the amount of emotions. For four hours Jon's music was shining. Commotion, jokes, laughs and a lot of music came together by magic. The result is the show you can now hear and watch. All the wonderful musicians who played at the "Celebrating Jon Lord" Sunflower Jam have left a precious mark but how not to mention the 45 minutes finale by Deep Purple, the Purple Mk III songs played by Paice with the old friend Glenn Hughes, together with Iron Maiden?s Bruce Dickinson, Rick Wakeman's of Yes fame, Steve Balsamo (who sang in the late Jon Lord band and in his last studio album "Concerto"), members of The Temperance Movement, ex members of Whitesnake, Marsden and Moody, the "modfather" Paul Weller...
• Ian Paice remembers the "Celebrating Jon Lord" night with vivid memory considering the time all the artists had to rehearse the music for the concert, (in Deep Purple's case two hours the day before the show!) the resulting performance were nothing less than miraculous. A testament to the quality of the players and love for Jon and his works. "It was like no concert I have ever played. To a person everyone in the Hall was there for a common purpose to honour a wonderful man and a great musician. The Royal Albert Hall is fairly large venue and can be intimidating, but that evening it was more like a gathering of friends at their local,(if slightly oversized) pub than a regular show. I believe all the artists, the people in the audience and even the crew helping to make the show work, felt the difference that night." Everybody attending the show left the venue with an expression that clearly said "one day I will be able to say I was there"... Now everybody will be able to see why.

Queen were straining at the boundaries of hard rock and heavy metal on Sheer Heart Attack, but they broke down all the barricades on A Night at the Opera, a self-consciously ridiculous and overblown hard rock masterpiece. Using the multi-layered guitars of its predecessor as a foundation, A Night at the Opera encompasses metal ("Death on Two Legs," "Sweet Lady"), pop (the lovely, shimmering "You're My Best Friend"), campy British music hall ("Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon," "Seaside Rendezvous"), and mystical prog rock ("'39," "The Prophet's Song"), eventually bringing it all together on the pseudo-operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody." In short, it's a lot like Queen's own version of Led Zeppelin IV, but where Zep find dark menace in bombast, Queen celebrate their own pomposity. No one in the band takes anything too seriously, otherwise the arrangements wouldn't be as ludicrously exaggerated as they are. But the appeal -- and the influence -- of A Night at the Opera is in its detailed, meticulous productions. It's prog rock with a sense of humor as well as dynamics, and Queen never bettered their approach anywhere else.

• On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellin, Colombia.When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
• Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd's classic 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.

• Formed by Maurice White in 1970 in Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire are a band with a rich history. Together with Kool & the Gang and The Gap Band, Earth, Wind & Fire are responsible for the commercialization of funk, R&B, and black pop in America. The band has won ten Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards.
The band's leaders - Maurice White (who retired in 1995 for health reasons) and Philip Bailey - have also been successful as producers, arrangers and composers. Bailey, in particular, has had a notably successful solo career. During the years, he has collaborated with such music icons as Steve Wonder, Phil Collins, Brian McKnight, and Julio Iglesias.
• The band's stage presence is terrific. These are seasoned musicians that know exactly how to ignite their audience. From "Rock That" to "Devotion", their music groves hard - whether it is a funky tune or a jazzy piece with a couple of strong solo improvisations, there is always plenty of energy on the stage.
• What impresses the most about Earth, Wind & Fire: Live at Montreux, however, is how genuinely heartfelt and sincere the music is - nothing is forced, nothing is overdone, nothing is repetitive. It is a giant celebration of music, really, where everyone is encouraged to contribute.

When the members of Cream - the indelible '60s hard rock trio whose bluesy psychedelics would influence the music industry for decades to come - parted ways in 1968 due to the irreconcilable egos of bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker, guitarist Eric Clapton joined forces with Traffic frontman Steve Winwood (on sabbatical from his own volatile musicians) to create Blind Faith, a short-lived experimental endeavor born out of jam sessions in Clapton's basement. Sadly, their 1969 collaboration would only produce a single album: a self-titled, six-song record cursed with a risquй cover (depicting a naked preteen) that generated quite a bit of controversy. After
a short summer tour, the band dissolved, leaving the two artists with little choice but to go their own separate ways. Winwood returned to Traffic for five years (having failed to keep Blind Faith going, sans Clapton) before tackling a successful solo venture. Clapton carved out a niche for himself as well, dominating the '70s and '80s with numerous hits and a variety of dream projects. While the two remained friends over the years, it wasn't until February of 2008, nearly forty years after Blind Faith's breakup, that Winwood and Clapton would find time to come together again.
• Clapton and Winwood's reunion consisted of three Madison Square Garden performances, each of which were culled to produce a new 2-disc album, as well as the fantastic Blu-ray release at the heart of this review.

• In September 2013 Kscope released Dethroned & Uncrowned, a reworking of the band's 2012 epic Dead End Kings (originally released on Kscope's sister label Peaceville). Dethroned & Uncrowned allowed Katatonia the opportunity to explore a more progressive sound, creating new moods and textures while still staying truthful to the core of the original songs.
• Katatonia took Dethroned & Uncrowned on the road in Europe for the first time in May 2014 under the moniker 'Unplugged & Reworked'. They presented an intimate acoustic evening, performing tracks from the album alongside atmospheric classics from their entire career, stripped and reworked. Each venue, on the tour, was carefully chosen for its unique atmosphere. They were joined on guitar & vocals by The Pineapple Thief frontman and songwriter Bruce Soord.
• Sanctitude is a concert film filmed and recorded in the stunning candle-lit setting of London's Union Chapel. The 80 minute set features 17 songs across the albums The Great Cold Distance, Viva Emptiness, Brave Murder Day, Last Fair Deal Gone Down and of course, Dead End Kings / Dethroned & Uncrowned, including fan favourite 'Teargas'. The show closes with the sublime 'The One You Are Looking For Is Not Here' and a special guest appearance by Norwegian vocalist Silje Wergeland of Dutch legends The Gathering.
• Katatonia's Anders Nystrom comments on the release "As a band we set out on uncharted waters but while apprehensive about the journey ahead our intentions couldn't have been more genuine to undertake this beautiful experience. Sailing this project into harbour turned out to be bliss and has ultimately enriched all the members of Katatonia."

• Mike & The Mechanics were formed in 1985 by Mike Rutherford as a separate project to run alongside his work with Genesis. They released their eponymous debut album the same year featuring vocals from both Paul Carrack (Ace) and Paul Young (Sad Cafe) and had an immediate hit with Silent Running. This was followed by a string of further hit singles and albums including "The Living Years", a US No.1 single that remains one of the most played songs of all time on FM radio. In 2004 the band reunited for the first time since the sad death of Paul Young in 2000. With Paul Carrack now handling all the lead vocals they went out on the road across Europe, culminating in this outstanding performance at London's Shepherds Bush Empire. The show contains all their greatest hits and is now presented on Blu-ray for the first time. • Although Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel grabbed most of the post-Genesis limelight with their respective solo careers, guitarist Mike Rutherford built up a solid side-project for himself with Mike and the Mechanics. • Sepultura are one of the most successful acts ever to come out of Brazil with global album sales in excess of 30 million and are one of the most important and influential metal acts of their generation. This show was filmed at the legendary Rock In Rio festival in their native Brazil on the 19th September 2013. It is a spectacular performance which sees the band accompanied throughout by the French industrial percussion group Les Tambours Du Bronx. The sheer volume of sound and the powerful presentation of the songs sets this apart from any previous Sepultura concert release.

• During the world tour for the album 'You Are Here' UFO filmed a concert in May 2005 at the Pumpwerk Wilhelmshaven in Germany. Now 'Showtime' will be released for the first time on Blu-ray, including a fantastic acoustic session which was recorded at the Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, Germany. More bonus material, like making of and history interviews, are also included and you can see the last performances with the band of drummer Jason Bonham, the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, and Pete Way who had to leave the band due to health reasons soon after.

Most UFO fans consider the only real lineup to be when guitarist Michael Schenker decides to grace the band with his presence. And truth be told, this is a valid point -- the group's best work seems to occur whenever the unpredictable guitarist is present, whether it was in the '70s (1977's Lights Out, 1979's exceptional Strangers in the Night) or his mid-'90s re-entry (1995's Walk on Water). But shortly after the dawn of the 21st century, Schenker decided to jump ship once more for his solo career, and the band was left with the decision of "to be or not to be." What resulted was probably UFO's most interesting and strongest non-Schenker lineup ever, consisting of mainstays Phil Mogg (vocals), Pete Way (bass), and Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), as well as such renowned "newcomers" as Vinnie Moore (guitar) and Jason Bonham (drums). 2005 saw the release of the zillionth UFO live set, Showtime, which does a fine job of showcasing this latter day lineup. The double-disc CD (which was also issued as a DVD under the same title) focuses primarily on the classics, including such standouts as "This Kids," "Love to Love," and "Lights Out" -- despite a vocal flub by Mogg on the latter track. But the recent material included from 2004's You Are Here is surprisingly strong -- "When Daylight Goes to Town" (which sounds quite similar to Van Halen's "Best of Both Worlds") and "The Wild One." While it's not, of course, going to top the aforementioned Strangers in the Night -- a near impossible feat -- Showtime proves that there may be life after Schenker after all.
