• Tedeschi Trucks Band release their second live album, Live From The Fox Oakland, on Fantasy Records. Led by the husband-and-wife duo of guitar master Derek Trucks and singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi, the 12-piece ensemble's breathtaking live show is captured here over 15 blistering tracks. Recorded in a single night on September 9, 2016, at Oakland, CA's Fox Theater, the audio was mixed using a vintage Neve console to achieve an exquisitely immersive sound experience and mastering guru Bob Ludwig handled the mastering.
• The collection includes cuts from Tedeschi Trucks Band's 2016 album Let Me Get By as well as TTB's own interpretations of Leonard Cohen's "Bird on the Wire" and Bobby "Blue" Bland's "I Pity the Fool," two songs which feature the full range and power of Tedeschi's vocals. On Derek and the Dominos' "Keep On Growing" it's Trucks' guitar work that grabs the spotlight for a stunning extended solo. In another memorable segment, sarod master Alam Khan joins TTB onstage for the first time on their original song "These Walls." This genre-defying moment reveals TTB's classical Indian influences and proves the 12-piece ensemble can drop their sound down to a whisper when it serves the song.
• For a band that spends hundreds of days on the road a year, it was important to choose the right time for their second live album. As Trucks explains, "we've been wanting to properly document the progress of this band for a while and it really felt like we were hitting our stride and firing on all cylinders last fall." Tedeschi adds, "it was special capturing the live performance from Oakland. The audience was great and the band played with passion. I am thankful we captured the band at this moment in time."
• Trucks and Tedeschi's full commitment to making the best sounding live recording possible was evident from start to finish. "Our engineers Bobby Tis and Brian Speiser have been tweaking our recording setup on the road over the last year so we can really capture the sound of being in the room," says Trucks. "The three of us spent countless hours in our studio after the recording to bring the tracks to life and make sure you can hear all the energy and nuances, which isn't easy with a 12 piece band. We put a lot of work in to make sure the mixing/mastering was a notch above and I think our fans and music deserve the extra effort."

Recorded and filmed on September 28th, 2014 at the The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, a host of today's best musicians pay tribute to their favorite George Harrison songs.
• George Fest: A Night to Celebrate George Harrison happened at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on September 28, 2014 and the whole shindig appeared in a variety of incarnations -- CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and downloads -- in February of 2016, a few days after what would've been the Beatle's 73rd birthday. His son Dhani directed the concert and, with the exception of Brian Wilson and Heart's Ann Wilson, he favored alt-rock stars of the 2000s: the Killers' Brandon Flowers, Nick Valensi from the Strokes, Spoon's Britt Daniel, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cold War Kids, and the Flaming Lips form the backbone of this tribute. Around this core orbit some names that seem suitable (Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Perry Farrell), some that seem odd (Ian Astbury, Karen Elson), and some that seem like ringers (Conan O'Brien, Weird Al Yankovic), but this group is united by an affection for George Harrison, a love that runs so deep that none of the crew even make feints toward possible reinterpretations of the tunes. Everybody plays the songs they love in the way they learned them, so the highlights fall along the spectrum of sensitivity to enthusiasm. Norah Jones excels on both "Something" and "Behind That Locked Door," Karen Elson treats "I'd Have You Anytime" as a torch song, and Daniel sways handsomely to "I Me Mine," while Dhani throws himself into "Let It Down" and the two nominal comedians, Conan and Weird Al, tear it up on "Old Brown Shoe" and "What Is Life," respectively. That's enough to provide a hook for this lengthy concert but the lasting impression of George Fest is not about the performances here but rather the depth and range of Harrison's work, which perhaps is how it should be.

• Swedish rockers [b]BACKYARD BABIES will release a new concert DVD, "Live At Cirkus", on February 24 via Gain Music Entertainment, which is distributed and partly owned by Sony Music. The was filmed at the band's February 10, 2016 headlining concert at Cirkus in Stockholm. The DVD contains singles like "Th1rt3en Or Nothing", "Brand New Hate" and "Minus Celsius".
• "To be able to shoot our concert from 2015 at one of my absolute favorite venues in Stockholm was amazing," said BACKYARD BABIES frontman Nicke Borg. "In this DVD, you'll catch some of the magic that went down that night. Enjoy."
• BACKYARD BABIES officially reunited in 2014, five years after they announced that they were going on an "indefinite hiatus." A new album, "Four By Four", arrived in 2015.
• Speaking about the meaning behind the "Four By Four" title, Borg told Rock 'N' Load: "'Four By Four'. It's, like, BACKYARD BABIES is like a four-wheel truck, you know?! It goes through mud and fucking terrain. And if one wheel, one bandmember, stops working, the three others carry the vehicle."
• Regarding the band's decision to take a long hiatus, BACKYARD BABIES guitarist Dregen told All About The Rock: "Well, we started this band back in 1989 and we were working super hard to get a record deal, so when we got that, we toured heavily until 1998 on the back of our 1994 debut album, 'Diesel And Power'. So it was at that point that we started to make a living out of music. So since 1998, really, we've been constantly out on tour and recording albums. By 2010, we were fried. Absolutely worn out in a way."
• He continued: "It wasn't anything within the band. It was just for that it got to a stage where I would have a friend come up to me and say, 'Hey, you guys where great tonight,' and I'd be, like, 'Oh, okay, thank you,' and then the next night someone else would come up and say, 'Hi, you guys were not that great tonight.' It was at that point where I couldn't even tell if a gig was good or bad anymore; I'd turned into some sort of robot rocking machine."

The band lineup for the tour continues to be a firm fan-favorite, with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on keyboards, Willie Weeks on bass, Steve Jordan on drums and backing vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White During the set, EC's long-time musical inspiration, JJ Cale, sat in for five songs, including three from their Grammy-Award winning album, The Road To Escondido, released in 2006.
• [b]Eric Clapton recorded The Road to Escondido, a collaborative effort with his laconic idol J.J. Cale, in 2006 but the pair didn't play supporting concerts due to Cale's aversion of touring. He wound up showing up for one show: a date near his home in San Diego, playing five songs on March 15, 2007 at the iPayOne Center. That guest set forms the heart of 2016's Live in San Diego, a double-disc live album released three years after Cale's death. Effectively, this marks Clapton's second tribute to Cale since J.J.'s passing -- in 2014, he assembled The Breeze: An Appreciation of J.J. Cale -- but this brief mid-concert set perhaps illustrates the love and affection between the two men better than either The Breeze or The Road to Escondido. Mainly relying on chestnuts (although the new "Anyway the Wind Blows" kicks off the set), the chemistry is there along with a palpable affection between the two musicians, with Clapton following Cale's lazy lead. It provides a nice contrast to the heavy blues that dominates the rest of the album. Working with a band featuring guitarists Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks plus drummer Steve Jordan, Clapton opens up with no less than five Derek & the Dominos numbers -- including "Got to Get Better in a Little While," not released while the band was active -- and then concludes with a bunch of blues covers (Robert Cray shows up for a closing "Crossroads"), along with his own "Wonderful Tonight" and "Layla," the only two big hits on the album. That kind of crowd-pleasing isn't part of the intention of this particular concert. Instead, Clapton decides to devote the majority of his set list to the guitar, which helps offset the easy-rolling grooves of the Cale showcase. Combined, it amounts to one of his most satisfying live albums.

George Fest: A Night to Celebrate George Harrison happened at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on September 28, 2014 and the whole shindig appeared in a variety of incarnations -- CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and downloads -- in February of 2016, a few days after what would've been the Beatle's 73rd birthday. His son Dhani directed the concert and, with the exception of Brian Wilson and Heart's Ann Wilson, he favored alt-rock stars of the 2000s: the Killers' Brandon Flowers, Nick Valensi from the Strokes, Spoon's Britt Daniel, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cold War Kids, and the Flaming Lips form the backbone of this tribute. Around this core orbit some names that seem suitable (Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Perry Farrell), some that seem odd (Ian Astbury, Karen Elson), and some that seem like ringers (Conan O'Brien, Weird Al Yankovic), but this group is united by an affection for George Harrison, a love that runs so deep that none of the crew even make feints toward possible reinterpretations of the tunes. Everybody plays the songs they love in the way they learned them, so the highlights fall along the spectrum of sensitivity to enthusiasm. Norah Jones excels on both "Something" and "Behind That Locked Door," Karen Elson treats "I'd Have You Anytime" as a torch song, and Daniel sways handsomely to "I Me Mine," while Dhani throws himself into "Let It Down" and the two nominal comedians, Conan and Weird Al, tear it up on "Old Brown Shoe" and "What Is Life," respectively. That's enough to provide a hook for this lengthy concert but the lasting impression of George Fest is not about the performances here but rather the depth and range of Harrison's work, which perhaps is how it should be. --AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

One More Time with Feeling began as a performance-based concept around the making of new Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds album Skeleton Tree, but evolved into something more complex as director Andrew Dominik delved into the personal backdrop of the writing and recording of the album. Interwoven throughout the Bad Seeds' filmed performance of the new album are interviews and footage shot by Dominik, accompanied by Cave's intermittent narration and improvised ruminations. Filmed in black-and-white and colour, the result is stark, fragile and raw. A co-production between Iconoclast and Pulse Films, in association with JW Films, and produced by Dulcie Kellett and James Wilson, One More Time with Feeling was officially selected for world premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.

About: The album was recorded during a special show on September 21st, 2013 during the Sounds of the Ages Festival at the magnificent Second Century Roman Theater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. On some of the songs during the band's set, Original Asia was joined by The Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Levon Manukian.

The show was then aired on Bulgarian National TV the following December 30th, 2013 and it is now presented in its entirety to the fans as a powerful witness of the line-up featuring original members John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes along with Sam Coulson on guitar.

What makes this so special is the fact that Cult of Luna doesn't tour much, but when they do, their live performance is mesmerizing and intense. Details of the release can be seen below, as put by Cult of Luna's Johannes Persson: A few years ago we took the decision to keep touring to a minimum. The sole reason was to prevent us from burning out, to keep the flame and the passion burning. But the experiences on the road that we've shared for almost 20 years has been life changing for all of us. About: The album was recorded during a special show on September 21st, 2013 during the Sounds of the Ages Festival at the magnificent Second Century Roman Theater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. On some of the songs during the band's set, Original Asia was joined by The Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Levon Manukian.

The show was then aired on Bulgarian National TV the following December 30th, 2013 and it is now presented in its entirety to the fans as a powerful witness of the line-up featuring original members John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes along with Sam Coulson on guitar.

Held close to Milano, Italy, this was the third annual edition of the festival and saw Treat playing hot on the heels of the release of their latest studio album, "Ghost Of Graceland". The release date of this live album happens to be about one year after the initial performance took place and almost coincides with the 2017 edition of the Frontiers Rock Festival as well.

• Uriah Heep, who indisputably invented Hard Rock in conjunction with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, have sold in excess of 40 million albums since their inception in 1969. From their early incarnation as Spice (joined by members of the Gods), through record breaking tours, gold and platinum selling albums, timeless chart scaling anthems and a fiercely dedicated fan base of worldwide proportions, Uriah Heep can rightly claim to be one of the greatest U.K. progressive heavy rock bands of both the 20th and 21st centuries.
• Originally founded by vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, Uriah Heep have been through an incredible number of permutations, with Mick Box always at the helm. Long standing keyboard player Phil Lanzon and vocalist Bernie Shaw were recruited nearly 30 years ago in 1986. Drummer Russell Gilbrook who has now been with the band 7 years, has recorded studio albums "Wake the Sleeper", "Into the Wild" & "Outsider". "Wake the Sleeper" heralded an exciting new phase for the band, taking Heep's classic sound right into the future. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary an aptly titled greatest hits re-recordings album called "Celebration". Dave Rimmer, who had been standing in for Trevor Bolder (ex-David Bowie's Spiders From Mars), continues as the bassist, and with the band's diary for the foreseeable future as full as ever In January 2011, the band returned to the studio once again to record "Into the Wild" which began with a strong start in Germany at #32 and the band once again returned to the road for a worldwide tour. Playing to nearly 150,000 people, in Eastern Europe, Australia, Japan, and America and playing in 58 different countries in total.
• "Recording a live DVD in London at Koko's was just fantastic. Our fans travelled from all over the world to be there, and be part of this magic night," says Mick Box. "This added so much to the atmosphere, and thankfully it was captured on camera. We debuted two songs from our new CD, 'Outsider,' that night, and the reaction was just incredible, proving that we have the best fans in the world."

To celebrate 30 years since the album's release, Matheos reassembled the Awaken the Guardian-era lineup for two special festival appearances: Keep it True XIX in Lauda-Konigshofen, Germany and Prog Power USA XVII in Atlanta, GA. Fortunately for fans that were not able to attend, each show was filmed and recorded!

About: The band released two albums, »For All Tid« (1994) and »Stormblåst« (1996) before they signed to Nuclear Blast and released »Enthrone Darkness Triumphant« (1997). This was a major step forwards for the band, and an album that helped change the way the world acknowledged extreme metal in a massive way. DIMMU BORGIR might have started as a pitch-black pioneer of the Norwegian black metal scene, but quickly evolved into a hybrid of a beast, incorporating symphonic elements and other musical influences where few other bands dared to wander.The band evolved, both musically and lineup-wise, over the years, and DIMMU BORGIRincreased their status as a massive audience-draw with classic albums like »Spiritual Black Dimensions« (1999), »Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia« (2001) and »Death Cult Armageddon« (2003). The band has headlined tours and performed on big festivals worldwide, and toured together with non-typical peers as KORN, DEVILDRIVER and JUDAS PRIEST, to mention a few. After a re-recording of the classic »Stormblåst« album in 2005, entitled »Stormblåst MMV«,and the critically acclaimed »In Sorte Diaboli« (2007) and »Abrahadabra« (2010), both albums that were musically challenging both the band and their audience, DIMMU BORGIR topped it all with a sold-out performance in their hometown of Oslo, performing with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a full scale choir.The band has been on a hiatus for some years, but last year, the band announced that the cooperation with Nuclear Blast Records was extended, and the first release in 2017 will be the highly anticipated Blu-ray of this magnificent show, »Forces Of The Northern Night«.
