Bat Out of Hell is the 1977 debut album by American rock singer Meat Loaf and composer Jim Steinman. It is one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album was developed from a musical, Neverland, a futuristic rock version of Peter Pan, which Steinman wrote for a workshop in 1974. It was recorded during 1975-1976 at various studios, including Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, New York, produced by Todd Rundgren, and released in October 1977 by Cleveland International/Epic Records. Bat Out of Hell has spawned two Meat Loaf sequel albums: Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose.

Bat Out of Hell has sold over 43 million copies worldwide. It is certified 14x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It is the best-selling album in Australia. As of June 2019, it has spent 522 weeks in the UK Albums Chart, the second longest chart run by a studio album. Rolling Stone ranked it at number 343 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Nasson, a Chilean guitarist, songwriter, and now in-demand producer, has recently come to the attention of hard rock and metal fans through his work on the latest CHAOS MAGIC album, "Furyborn" and the outstanding debut record from SINNER'S BLOOD, "The Mirror Star". Based in Santiago, Chile, Nasson is a stellar writer, arranger, and musician and with this new solo project, he also reveals his abilities as lead vocalist.

On "Scars", Nasson offers fine examples of contemporary melodic metal with influences ranging from Evergrey to Pretty Maids to Eclipse. Handling all the songwriting and arrangements, he also plays the bulk of the instrumentation on "Scars", with the help of Rodrigo Leiva on drums and Caterina Nix (Chaos Magic) on background vocals. Caterina also appears together with her fellow talented Frontiers artists based in South America on the song "We Are the Army", where she is joined by fellow lead vocalists Gui Oliver (Landfall, Mayank), Mizuho Lin (Semblant, The Erinyes), and James Robledo (Sinner's Blood). Other special guests on the album include Alessandro Del Vecchio for a vocal duet on "When it Rains," Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson, Rob Rock) handling additional synth on "Mother Moon", and Ignacio Torres handling lead guitars on "Not Today", "Bringer of Sorrow" and "We Are the Army."

Earthless release their forthcoming new album Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons, January via Nuclear Blast.

The San Diego psych rock trio's sixth studio album is compiled of just two songs, but each are of monstrous length - the title track weighs in at 41 minutes while the second, Death To The Red Sun, is half the length, but still comes in at a giant 20 minutes long.

Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons, otherwise referred to as Hyakki Yagyo, depicts an ancient Japanese legend in which a throng of demons, ghosts and other spine-chilling paranormal creatures descend on sleeping villages at night, once a year. According to one tale, anyone who witnesses this supernatural procession will perish instantly or be abducted. To avoid being taken away by the otherworldly beings, villagers hide in their homes.

Bassist Mike Eginton - who was also responsible for creating the album artwork - explains, "My son and I came across the Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons in a book of traditional Japanese ghost stories. I like the idea of people hiding and being able to hear the madness but not see it. It's the fear of the unknown."

Begin 2020 bracht het Finse metalmonster Lordi de fictieve verzamelaar Killection uit, met daarop songs in diverse stijlen uit de rijke rock- en metalhistorie: van glam tot prog, van disco tot thrash. Deze plaat zou een weergave zijn van Lordi door de jaren heen. Het is een grap, want Lordi bestond nog niet in de jaren zeventig. Maar wat als Lordi al decennialang successingles schrijft? Met dat idee, de muziek van Killection, en de extra tijd die de coronaellende Mr. Lordi gaf, ging hij aan de slag met het schrijven van meer materiaal in stijlen waarvan Lordi zich normaliter niet bedient. Het resultaat is de boxset Lordiversity. Het zijn zeven albums met elk een eigen karakter. Elk van die platen past in een periode uit de muziekgeschiedenis. Het geluid is onmiskenbaar Lordi, maar verschilt dusdanig van de gebruikelijke shockrock en -metal dat het uniek klinkt. Het idee is in ieder geval bijzonder origineel.

Met de geweldige titel Abusement Park blijft Lordi op dit hoofdstuk uit de Lordiversity-boxset dicht bij huis. De band bedient zich van glam-, sleaze- en hardrock in de stijl van onder meer W.A.S.P. en Twisted Sister. Geen onbekende invloeden wanneer je vaker naar Lordi luistert. Het is dan ook zeker geen onontgonnen gebied voor het kwintet. Helaas is het juist dit album dat wat tegenvalt. De periode waarop de Finnen hier teruggrijpen staat niet bekend om zijn virtuoze muzikale escapades. De doorgaans rechttoe-rechtaan songs hebben vaak weinig om het lijf met eenvoudige melodieen, dito instrumentatie en flauwe teksten. Lordi vergroot dat uit, waardoor ook de negatieve kanten van deze stijlen sterker naar voren komen.

British Progressive Rock Luminaries JETHRO TULL release the group's first studio album of new material in over 18 years!

A record that began to take shape as early as 2017, 'The Zealot Gene', in many ways, seeks to defy convention during a time when the business of being a touring and recording artist has never faced more uncertainties.

Tull bandleader Ian Anderson holds no reservations about the role for which the mythos and themes of Biblical storytelling played in the lyrical content of the new album, saying "While I have a spot of genuine fondness for the pomp and fairytale story-telling of the Holy Book, I still feel the need to question and draw sometimes unholy parallels from the text. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly rear their heads throughout, but are punctuated with elements of love, respect, and tenderness."

Looking back on the earth-shaking disruption of the Coronavirus pandemic, which ultimately ended the band's touring plans and hopes of a 2020 release for 'The Zealot Gene', Anderson shares "It was so sudden. Amidst the concerns and warnings of the scientific community and a few more enlightened politicians, we all retreated in disbelief to our homes to wait out the storm."
