Recouping after a car crash and faced with the loss of Rod Stewart and Ron Wood, Jeff Beck redefined what the Jeff Beck Group was about, deciding to tone down the bluesy bombast, adding keyboardist Max Middleton for a jazz edge, then having Bob Tench sing to give it an overblown early-'70s AOR edge. As expected, these two sides are in conflict and Tench can be a little overbearing, but there are moments here that bring out the best in Beck. Namely, these are the times when the group ventures into extended, funk-inflected, reflective jazzy instrumental sections. These are the moments that point the way toward the success of Blow by Blow, yet this remains an unabashed rock record of its time, and it falls prey to many of its era's excesses, particularly lack of focus. Still, there are moments that are as fine as anything Beck played here.

• Uriah Heep, who indisputably invented Hard Rock in conjunction with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, have sold in excess of 40 million albums since their inception in 1969. From their early incarnation as Spice (joined by members of the Gods), through record breaking tours, gold and platinum selling albums, timeless chart scaling anthems and a fiercely dedicated fan base of worldwide proportions, Uriah Heep can rightly claim to be one of the greatest U.K. progressive heavy rock bands of both the 20th and 21st centuries.
• Originally founded by vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, Uriah Heep have been through an incredible number of permutations, with Mick Box always at the helm. Long standing keyboard player Phil Lanzon and vocalist Bernie Shaw were recruited nearly 30 years ago in 1986. Drummer Russell Gilbrook who has now been with the band 7 years, has recorded studio albums "Wake the Sleeper", "Into the Wild" & "Outsider". "Wake the Sleeper" heralded an exciting new phase for the band, taking Heep's classic sound right into the future. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary an aptly titled greatest hits re-recordings album called "Celebration". Dave Rimmer, who had been standing in for Trevor Bolder (ex-David Bowie's Spiders From Mars), continues as the bassist, and with the band's diary for the foreseeable future as full as ever In January 2011, the band returned to the studio once again to record "Into the Wild" which began with a strong start in Germany at #32 and the band once again returned to the road for a worldwide tour. Playing to nearly 150,000 people, in Eastern Europe, Australia, Japan, and America and playing in 58 different countries in total.
• "Recording a live DVD in London at Koko's was just fantastic. Our fans travelled from all over the world to be there, and be part of this magic night," says Mick Box. "This added so much to the atmosphere, and thankfully it was captured on camera. Shinin' On is the eighth album by Grand Funk Railroad, released in 1974. Although not as successful as its predecessor, We're an American Band, it peaked at #5 in the US and was certified gold, and its first single, a cover of "The Loco-Motion" topped the U.S. charts. The original cover was done in bi-visual 3-D and included the required blue and red lensed glasses to view it. The title song was featured in The Simpsons' 7th season episode "Homerpalooza". A Quadraphonic mix of the album was available in the Quadraphonic 8-Track cartridge format.

• "35 years have passed since the legendary MSG concert Live At The Budokan. Like a miracle Michael Schenker returns to Japan with his past original singers from the '80's to celebrate the Michael Schenker Fest with Barden, Bonnet and McAuley at the amazing Tokyo International Forum. 5000 fans witnessed an anthology moment of quintessential hard rock music of the highest calibre. It's a miracle that after all these years, something like this took place with the original band members of MSG. Being able to go back to those days and celebrate the music is an exciting experience for the band, as well as for old and new fans. To being able to re-experience, and for the new audience to get a feel of what it was like, is incredibly enjoyable. For Michael Schenker it was an amazing feeling to have all of his MSG Family from the '80's performing together and especially with Graham Bonnet, who he never got to play any concerts after their Assault Attack album that was originally released in 1982. Fortunately, being able to have the participation of original MSG members such as Gary Barden, Chris Glen and Ted McKenna being part of it, and somehow, to perform with Robin McAuley and Steve Mann again as well, was pretty awesome for Michael Schenker.

Despite its reputation as one of the most exciting live bands to ever rock an arena in the Seventies, Bad Company never released a live album during its meteoric rise to the top of the charts. That has changed as Rhino introduces the first-ever official live album to spotlight the original Bad Company line up: Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke and Boz Burrell.
The collection includes more than two-and-half hours of unreleased music taken from 24-track tapes in the band's vault. The music heard on this live collection features absolutely no enhancements or overdubs, nothing but the band as they performed live on the night of the concert.
Live 1977 & 1979 includes two previously unreleased concerts - with one additional track taken from the group's June 26, 1979 show in Washington, DC.
The first disc captures the band's show at the Summit House in Houston, Texas, which took place on May 23, 1977. It was recorded during Bad Company's tour supporting its fourth studio album Burning Sky. After opening with the title track from the album, the band went on to play selections from all its previous albums: Run with the Pack (1976), Straight Shooter (1975) and Bad Company (1974). Among the crowd-pleasing highlights are strong performances of "Shooting Star," "Ready For Love," "Good Lovin' Gone Bad" and "Feel Like Makin' Love."
The next disc fast-forwards two years to the band's March 9, 1979 show in London, which was recorded during the band's tour for its multi-platinum album, Desolation Angels. Several songs from that album were performed during the show, including "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy," "Gone, Gone, Gone" and "She Brings Me Love." The group also performed several songs from earlier albums that weren't part of the 1977 concert, like "Run With the Pack," "Rock Steady" and "Can't Get Enough."

• Making a concert by the band Rammstein on film is an extremely difficult task. • Akerlund is notorious for the radical, styling videos he made with bands like The Prodigy, Metallica, the Rolling Stones and also Rammstein. Through his music productions, irrutious details flicker, encapsulated perspectives, contrast shocks, sensual confusion - and in "RAMMSTEIN: PARIS" he celebrates this from minute one. 22 songs are playing Rammstein in the film, the scale ranges from "Do you want to see the bed in flames?", The first song from the very first record, to "Spring in Paris" from the last studio album "Liebe ist fur alle da da". The film is not only the absolute highlight of the documentary work to date on this band, a medium that can be understood by many of its dimensions only at first. Heart was pretty much considered washed up when they released Heart in 1985. They learned a few important things while they had taken a short sabbatical -- they knew that hooks were important and they knew they could play up their looks for MTV. So, they delivered both with Heart, giving their audience anthemic hooks and tightly corseted bosoms, leading to the most popular album they ever had. This doesn't mean it's the best, since its calculated mainstream bent may disarm some long-term fans, but it is true that they do this better than many of their peers, not just because they have good polished material from professional songwriters but because they can deliver this material professionally themselves. Yes, "These Dreams," "Never," and "What About Love" don't quite fit into the classic Heart mode, but they are good mid-'80s mainstream material, delivered as flawlessly as possible. There's still a lot of filler on this record, but the best moments are among the best mainstream AOR of its era.

Don't be fooled by the Bee Gees-esque cover photo, Love Beach is not really ELP gone pop. True, many of the songs are more concise and accessible than those on previous albums, and there are a couple of Greg Lake-dominated "romantic" tunes, but those had always been part of the deal. They're still classically rockin' along on "Canario," and half the album is dominated by the 20-minute epic "Memoirs of an Officer and a Gentleman," reminiscent of such long-form ELP classics as "Trilogy."
