Founded in 2018, their blackened heavy metal barrels towards the peril of an unknown future, while still paying homage to metal's foundations. Guitarists Van Labrakis (Satan's Wrath) and Scott Hoffman (High Spirits) let loose galloping riffs and harmonies that evoke the classic sounds of the NWOBHM while driving their dark, melodic metal into the modern era. John Wetton rose to fame with bands Mogul Thrash, Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, Uriah Heep, and Wishbone Ash. Whilst Eddie Jobson has been a member of several progressive rock bands, including Curved Air, Roxy Music, UK, Jethro Tull and (very briefly) Yes. He was also part of Frank Zappa's band in 1976?77. And Terry Bozzio is best known for his work with Missing Persons and Frank Zappa. The album was released by E.G. Records / Polydor in March 1979. "The Only Thing She Needs", "Caesar's Palace Blues" and "Carrying No Cross" had been performed on tour throughout 1978 (and an early version of "Carrying No Cross" included what became the intro to the title track) by the band's original line-up with Bill Bruford and Allan Holdsworth. "Rendezvous 6:02" and "Nothing to Lose" were both released as singles. https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Machine Gun Kelly - Tickets To My Downfall (2020) [44.1kHz/24bit] https://i116.fastpic.org/thumb/2022/...46522aca6.jpeg Machine Gun Kelly -Tickets To My Downfall (2020) 44.1-24 Country: USA Genre: Pop Punk Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 36:04 Full Size: 436.62 MB Though his 2019 album Hotel Diablo mostly continued the commercial rap style that made Machine Gun Kelly famous, the record closed with "I Think I'm Okay," a melodic rock song featuring guest appearances from U.K. vocalist YUNGBLUD and blink-182's Travis Barker. The catchy tune injected Machine Gun Kelly's emotionally raw lyricism into a template of spirited guitar-driven pop-punk and it became a huge hit. For fifth album Tickets to My Downfall, Machine Gun Kelly commits fully to the pop-punk style that was hinted at with "I Think I'm Okay," making a bold-faced turn from moody rap songs to blasts of distorted guitar, uptempo drums, and vocal harmonies right out of the early-2000s mall punk playbook. Travis Barker is again a frequent collaborator, producing the album as well as contributing drums and occasionally co-writing some songs. This direct association might be part of why Tickets to My Downfall sounds inarguably enamored with blink-182, with songs like "Bloody Valentine," pained ballad "Play This When I'm Gone," and the explosive "Title Track" following blink's blueprint of straightforward melodies, huge hooks, and cathartic choruses. The rap elements of the past aren't completely scrubbed clean, with trap drums added to the mix of tunes like "Drunk Face," and cameo appearances from rappers like Trippie Redd and Blackbear. Even still, when Trippie Redd shows up on "All I Know," he's not rapping as much as singing some melodic lines that play nicely with the emo-rock format of the song. The themes of self-destruction, tainted romance, and struggles with depression that were often visited on Machine Gun Kelly's earlier material translate seamlessly from tormented rap to heart-aching pop-punk. Songs like the lovelorn and dramatic "My Ex's Best Friend" might have a delivery that's worlds away from the brooding rap he's known for, but he's still singing about the same problems as always. The profound stylistic upset of Tickets to My Downfall will leave some listeners flat, simply because what they enjoyed about Machine Gun Kelly as a rapper might be harder to find in his pop-punk songs. For those willing to come along for the ride, the album serves as a sincere and somewhat nostalgic embrace of pop-punk from the Myspace era. Machine Gun Kelly's personality is still at the heart of every song, even when trading 808 beats for crunchy guitar riffs. While some songs are more interesting than others and some tend too close to blink-182 worship, Tickets to My Downfall succeeds more than it falters. While it would rank as a slightly above average album for any given pop-punk band, there's an added excitement in how risky this about-face is for a multi-platinum artist who could have easily turned in the same record he made last time. © Fred Thomas /TiVo https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Ghost - Prequelle (2018) [44.1kHz/24bit] https://static.qobuz.com/images/cove...yj5loc_600.jpg Ghost - Prequelle (2018) 44.1-24 Country: Sweden Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 41:43 Full Size: 41:43 One can't help but see in Ghost and its multitasking omnipotent leader Tobias Forge the worthy successor of a shock rock so dear to Alice Cooper. More than just a band, it is a complete immersion in a show, in which everything is connected. But like with Cooper, nothing must be overlooked, especially not the music. Indeed, if the whole structure holds together, it is mostly thanks to a devilishly effective sound, for which nothing is left to chance in Forge's meticulous compositions. This is why Ghost succeeds where some rare and brave bands have failed in the past thirty years, like Demon, who tried a rather similar approach as early as 1983. They are often criticized for their lack of creativity, but how many bands really do manage to blend genres without it resulting in an unpalatable stew? With four albums and two EPs, Ghost has not only forged a style identifiable from the very first listen, but it also keeps on improving by thoughtfully and cleverly integrating increasingly varied ingredients to its sound. To the point of taking up the saxophone, or collaborating with a specialist (Gavin Fitzjohn on Miasma). This Prequelle doesn't evoke Blue Öyster Cult as much as numerous bands that brought glory to the AOR genre (for album-oriented rock, which later became adult-oriented rock) in the United States, or hard FM on our side of the pond. Particularly these bands that had a hint of progressive about them, like Zebra, Triumph, Styx, or pop, like Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Toto, Winger, and at last a touch of pomp like Queen, Meat Loaf and Ambrosia. More than ever, Forge, a.k.a. Cardinal Copia, was able to shake things up and add a variety to his style, even if his talent for metal shows rather in quality than quantity. Except for the powerful and contagious Rats - which bears a striking resemblance to Ozzy in his The Ultimate Sin days −, the song Faith − which appears to be in the same vein as Dio's The Last in Line − and a Dance Macabre worthy of Scorpion (a song which evokes the Germans' Big City Nights), the album favours lighter, more melodic songs, even atmospheric - but not drowsy - instrumentals. Worth pointing out is this Helvetesfonster, quite similar to Steve Wilson and Mikael Åkerfeldt's project Storm Corrosion, and with good reason as they contributed stunning acoustic guitar parts. Ghost has even become an expert on finely carved ballads, as illustrated by an almost symphonic Pro Memoria. When Life Eternal, the other plainer ballad, ends, Prequelle leaves the impression of being cut short, which is not necessarily a bad thing. With ten tracks and over forty minutes of music, i.e. one less than Meliora, it falls on the good side of average. Some will argue that the album is missing one or two catchy tunes worthy of the unstoppable Square Hammer. But all in all, the final product will no doubt convert plenty of new followers and please the old-timers. © Jean-Pierre Sabouret/Qobuz https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

At their best, Roxy combine these two extremes, like on the exhilarating opener "The Thrill of It All," but Country Life benefits considerably from the ebb and flow of the group's two extremes, since it showcases their deft instrumental execution and their textured, enthralling songwriting. And, in many ways, Country Life offers the greatest and most consistent set of Roxy Music songs, illustrating their startling depth. From the sleek rock of "All I Want Is You" and "Prairie Rose" to the elegant, string-laced pop of "A Really Good Time," Country Life is filled with thrilling songs, and Roxy Music rarely sounded as invigorating as they do here. © Stephen Thomas Erlewine /TiVo https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Evil Invaders - Shattering Reflection (2022) [48kHz/24bit] https://i116.fastpic.org/thumb/2022/...694954b1f.jpeg Evil Invaders - Shattering Reflection (2022) 48-24 Country: Belgium Genre: Speed Metal,Thrash Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [48 kHz/24 bit] Time: 42:54 Full Size: 569.59 MB Belgian Metal frontrunners EVIL INVADERS unleash their third album, Shattering Reflection via Napalm Records! It took the band almost five years to craft a new record and it has been undoubtably worth the wait. EVIL INVADERS have found the perfect balance between fast, mid and slow tempo songs focusing on strong choruses, touching lyrics and even some progressive touches that will grab every Heavy Metal fan by the throat and screaming for more! EVIL INVADERS's Shattering Reflection is promising to be a game-changer for the Belgian 4-piece as the band seems to have found their own formula to turn Heavy Metal into another extreme direction. Shattering Reflection takes off with a fast Heavy Metal banger "Hissing in Crescendo", followed by the epic anthem "Die For Me", already destined to become an EVIL INVADERS's all-time classic. A calmer side is explored on tracks like mid-tempo opus "Forgotten Memories", creating a dense, heavy wall of sound with piercing vocals and ditto lyrics underlined by guitar solo virtuosity. That thrilling epos stands in line with "In Deepest Black", which showcases even more how the band has managed to craft a pure classic Heavy Metal anthem with melodic guitar lines and catchy choruses, creeping relentlessly into the listener's head. It also proves how Joe has matured as his vocals have entered a whole new dimension, both in the high and the low ranges. On the contrary, "Sledgehammer Justice" is a furious outburst of classic Thrash/Speed Metal in which the Belgian quartet goes full throttle with hammering rhythms and guitar solo madness! Another album highlight is the dark opus "The Circle", creating a horrifying atmosphere with stomping drums and excellent guitar lines. Fans of King Diamond will definitely dig this one! Throughout the album the band manages to keep the balance between fast Extreme Heavy Metal with sharp shredding and mosh-worthy tracks, as well as very melodic, more intense and chorus-oriented midtempo anthems. Shattering Reflection has turned out to be a monster of an album that will prove that in a new generation of Metal bands, EVIL INVADERS have been able to develop and mature record after record, just like the great classics did in the good old days. You will want to hear this record and also find out how EVIL INVADERS will deliver this masterpiece live on stage! https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Unlimited Love (2022) [96kHz/24bit] https://i116.fastpic.org/thumb/2022/...7eff24719.jpeg Red Hot Chili Peppers - Unlimited Love (2022) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Alternative Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96 kHz/24 bit] Time: 01:13:04 Full Size: 1.76 GB The twelfth album from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Unlimited Love, is notable for several reasons: Next year, the band will have been around for 40 years; it's their first since 2009 with on-again, off-again guitarist John Frusciante; and they've returned to producer Rick Rubin, who helmed their 1991 commercial breakthrough Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The old gang sounds like they're having more fun than ever. "Aquatic Mouth Dance" is at once undeniably RHCP and also like nothing they've done before: With a breezy R&B chorus and a vibrant wash of brass, it's almost an Earth, Wind & Fire song; it's also Flea at his finest, delivering super-funky bass that shows why he's gone from being seen as a party doofus to earning real respect. A wild tribute to 1980s LA nightlife, the song name-drops John Doe, the Misfits, Billy Zoom, "the old Starwood" and the long-closed Cathay club where the band got its start, and even offers a self-referential wink to an old album: "Spilling beer is a good fountain/ Like the milk from a mother's tit." The band is also in a nostalgic mood on loose-limbed "Poster Child," a wah-inflected wordplay buffet: "Melle Mel and Richard Hell/ Were dancing at the Taco Bell/ When someone heard a rebel yell . Lizzy looking mighty thin/ The Thompsons had another twin . Steve Miller and Duran Duran/ A joker dancing in the sand." With its "ayo-ayo" chorus, "One Way Traffic" already feels like classic RHCP, as Anthony Kiedis laments his friends getting older and settling down: "Now they read them catalogs." (His escape? Driving down the PCH, music turned up, to a killer surf spot.) There are heavy moments-"These Are the Ways" is pure grunge; "Here Ever After" feels ominous; and "The Heavy Wing" lives up to its name with eye-watering guitar-and dreamy ones that showcase Frusciante's fluid touch (ballad "Not the One," the Steely Dan chill of "Let 'Em Cry," the slip-and-slide R&B of "She's a Lover"). There's even a song that does both, as "Whatchu Thinkin'" flies from pretty, slightly psyched-out melody to blissed-out jam. The band is also, after all these years, still able to evolve and surprise. "Bastards of Light" gets almost country before it crests in a grunge breakdown; "White Braids & Pillow Chair" is a slice of experimental weirdness, weaving in bits of gospel and rumbling Western scores. (The verdict is still out on Kiedis' Hiberno-meets-pirate affectation on the stomper "Black Summer.") This is much, much more than a legacy band turning out the same old stuff. © Shelly Ridenour/Qobuz https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

I didn't know if it was gonna be a solo album or a Gov't Mule record. We play some traditional blues on stage from time to time and although it's usually never more than a few songs per show, our approach to the blues is unique and based on our collective chemistry as a band. This album gave us a mission. Although in some way it was 'anything goes,' we wanted to stay true to the spirit of the blues in a traditional sense. It's not a blues/rock record - it's a blues record. We wanted it sonically to sound different from a normal Gov't Mule record." - Warren Hayne https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Jack Lancaster & Robin Lumley - Marscape 1976 (Expanded & Remastered Edition) (202... https://i116.fastpic.org/thumb/2022/...bb73e8a45.jpeg Jack Lancaster & Robin Lumley - Marscape 1976 (Expanded & Remastered Edition) (2022) 96-24 Country: Genre: Fusion,Jazz-Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96 kHz/24 bit] Time: 52:49 Full Size: 1.03 GB Newly remastered of the wonderful 1976 album 'Marscape' by Jack Lancaster And Robin Lumley. This excellent album was recorded and released in 1976 and was composed and conceived to mark the landing on Mars of Nasa's Viking 2 Explorer in September of that year. For the sessions, saxophonist and woodwind player Jack Lancaster and keyboard player Robin Lumley were joined by John Goodsall on guitars, Percy Jones on bass and Phil Collins on drums. The finished album was an incredible work and paved the way for the formation of the acclaimed group Brand X soon after. This new edition of 'Marscape' has been remastered from newly discovered original master tapes. "Lancaster is the former sax player in Blodwyn Pig, but this album is better-known for its side-players: Robin Lumley, John Goodsall, Percy Jones, Phil Collins, Morris Pert... in short, Brand X! Fans of Brand X actively search out this album expecting a pre-Brand X Brand X album. Well, yes and no. One can certainly hear the Brand X style in embryonic form on some songs, but we must remember, this is really Lancaster's show. Lancaster primarily plays sax, but he also plays a lot of Lyricon, an early wind synthesizer. Sometimes, it's hard to tell which synth lines were played by Lumley or Lancaster, although others have a definite "reedy" quality to their sound (i.e., you can tell by the phrasing that the notes came out of a wind instrument and not a keyboard). Other guest appearances include Penguin Cafe Orchestra mainstay Simon Jeffes on koto, while vocalist Bernie Frost graces some songs with his eerie falsetto, though none of the songs has any lyrics. The songs fall into two distinct categories: 1) Soft and atmospheric with gentle melodies expressed on sax/Lyricon/flute backed by Lumley's keyboards (usually piano) and 2) Jazz-fusion somewhat in the Mahavishnu mold with prominent sax and energetic rock backing. The latter passages are those which will be of greatest interest to Brand X fans, Percy Jones' distinctive bass playing being most prominent. One can't help but wonder if the program music on this album was perhaps originally intended to be a soundtrack of some sort. Worth getting if you know what to expect." Known for their crowd-pleasing arena rock style, the band was well-regarded by audiences despite a relative lack of critical acclaim. Karen Dalton - In My Own Time (50th Anniversary Edition) 1971 (2022) https://i116.fastpic.org/thumb/2022/...72eaccd40.jpeg Karen Dalton - In My Own Time (50th Anniversary Edition) 1971 (2022) Country: USA Genre: Folk, Country,Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96 kHz/24 bit] Time: 01:06:26 Full Size: 1.17 GB A half-century after the release of Karen Dalton's cult classic second album, In My Own Time sounds as magical as it always has; it was never-despite the album's title-that she was ahead of her time, but rather not of this world. Which is not to say she was some ethereal creature. After a whole life lived in her teenage years, married twice and with two kids, Dalton moved from Oklahoma to New York City to be part of the Greenwich Village 1960s folk scene alongside the likes of Tim Hardin and Neil Young. Bob Dylan called her one of his favorites, saying "Karen had a voice like Billie Holiday." She reportedly hated the comparison, though you get why Dylan made it: it's the weary ache and that slim silver thread of hope that remains. You can hear it on her cover of George Jones' "Take Me;" the piano flutters like it needs a fainting couch, but Dalton turns the quiet plea into something wistful rather than desperate. "Take me to Siberia and the coldest weather of the winter time/ And it would be just like spring in California," she sings, drawing out that last word like it's some impossible oasis. (By then, Dalton had had two teeth knocked out in a fight between boyfriends.) It's in her jaunty delivery of the Holland-Dozier-Holland's "How Sweet It is" and her interpretation of Richard Manuel's psychedelic country-rock "In a Station," Dalton blowing like wind through some desolate space. And lord knows it's in her most famous song, the Scottish folk traditional "Katie Cruel." Helped along by high-lonesome banjo, it's as haunted as they come. "When I first came to town, they called me the roving jewel," Dalton sings, managing to make it sound like she's not broken by it all. "Now they've changed their tune, call me Katie Cruel." Credit her wavery, light-refracted voice and the way it reflects both a fragility of nature and a hardscrabble strength of circumstance. (While the story of folkie Fred Neil secretly recording Dalton's first album by not telling her the tape was running has been romanticized, it's also exploitative and manipulative.) Dalton, who would disappear after In My Own Time, battled heroin and alcohol addiction and died at age 55 after an AIDS diagnosis. But her influence carries on, in Angel Olsen, Lucinda Williams, Sharon Van Etten, Courtney Barnett and Nick Cave, to name a few. This new expanded and remastered edition includes alternate takes of "In My Own Dream," "Something on Your Mind" and "Katie Cruel." The latter two light a small fire under the beat, but find Dalton less declarative, like she's consoling a friend in hushed tones. There are also several live tracks. "Take Me," captured in April 1971 in Germany, is so intimate it's disarming, Dalton's voice cracking on the line "like heaven to me." But there is strength-an almost defiance-on the songs from her Montreaux performance a month later, even in "Blues on the Ceiling" when she predicts she'll "Never get out of these blues alive." © Shelly Ridenour/Qobuz https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

Remarkably, it's fueled in part by the 2017 death of Roland Orzabal's wife and partner of many years and his denial about losing her. "I think that when you've been close to someone for decades, they are living within you as well as without," he has said. "And consciously I did not believe she would die, though subconsciously I was, without doubt, preparing for the inevitable, arming myself against the future shock." The title track is shimmering and mysterious, with strident drums and alien beeps but also vocals like a soothing balm. "Winter done, they'll soon be gone/ From this unforgiving place/ To that vague and distant void/ Where the sunlight splits the eye," Orzabal sings of that threshold from life to death. It is heartbreaking, but also hopeful. "Please Be Happy" is incredibly candid-and one of their prettiest tracks: "These days it's like a wave is breaking over you/ Dragging you in with the undertow/ If you lay among the graves you will see other ghosts." And "No Small Thing," about facing the heartbreak of losing your love, is a stunner. Stripped-back acoustic guitar builds to the dreamy psychedelia Tears for Fears has always done so well, the whole thing swelling to a bursting-the-seams crescendo by the end. "Long, Long, Long Time" shows how the duo have always been masters of dynamics, its hymn-like organ giving way to a monster chorus; the song also reminds you just how much Sam Smith owes Curt Smith for their angelic style. "Master Plan" giddily dips into the band's longtime love of Sgt. Pepper-era Beatles, and "Break the Man" is catchy jangle pop touched with moody strings. "My Demons," meanwhile, is a nasty piece of work, in the best way (one akin to Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus"), with Orzabal drilling the doomed lyrics: "Why is my name in lights when my name is spelled wrong . People always find you when your cell phone is on." Smith comes in to sweeten up the chorus, but he sounds thrillingly stretched to his limits as the rhythm gallops like a sweating horse. Put The Tipping Point on the shelf next to Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking for times of crisis. © Shelly Ridenour/Qobuz https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

The band's original members, drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and vocalist Denis "Snake" Belanger, find themselves reinvigorated and reenergized by the presence of guitarist Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain and new bassist Dominic "Rocky" Laroche. Mongrain, now celebrating ten years in the band, has done a more than respectable job replacing original guitarist, the ever-beloved Denis "Piggy" D'Amour. His contribution to the making of The Wake was as integral to the new album as was Piggy's leadership during his reign. The Wake steers the Voivod spacecraft through a tangled, tantalizing storyline, woven into the most maze-like, edge-of-your-seat musical experience the band have embarked upon since those heady days of the late '80s. Songs such as "The End of Dormancy," "Iconspiracy" and "Spherical Perspective" churn and twist in such a way that no Voivod devotee could possibly have wished for more https://i111.fastpic.ru/big/2019/122...b1d0bba37c.jpg Cita:

The primary revelation of Dark Side of the Moon is what a little focus does for the band. Roger Waters wrote a series of songs about mundane, everyday details which aren't that impressive by themselves, but when given the sonic backdrop of Floyd's slow, atmospheric soundscapes and carefully placed sound effects, they achieve an emotional resonance. But what gives the album true power is the subtly textured music, which evolves from ponderous, neo-psychedelic art rock to jazz fusion and blues-rock before turning back to psychedelia. It's dense with detail, but leisurely paced, creating its own dark, haunting world.
