Peter Gabriel - Growing Up Live (2016)

Peter Gabriel - Growing Up Live (2016)
Genre: Rock,Progressive rock,Art Rock
Quality: LPCM 2.0 / 48 kHz / 2304 kbps / 24-bit
Full Size: 2,15Gb

• In 2002 and 2003, following the release of his album "Up", Peter Gabriel went on the road with his "Growing Up" tour, once again collaborating with production designer Robert Lepage to create a spectacular and theatrical live experience. The tour took in thirty-two cities across the USA, Canada and Europe with this concert film, directed by Hamish Hamilton, being shot over two nights at the FilaForum in Milan in May 2003 with Peter Gabriel and the band performing "in the round" at the centre of the arena. Filmed in high definition, this was originally released on DVD in 2003 but never on Blu-ray. The DVD is now being reissued and the concert is being released on Blu-ray for the first time.
• "Still Growing Up Live & Unwrapped" is taken from the "Still Growing Up" tour of 2004, which took Peter Gabriel and his band into smaller and more intimate venues in contrast to the large arenas chronicled in the "Growing Up Live" film. Award-winning director Hamish Hamilton reunites with Peter Gabriel for this concert film.. The 'Unwrapped' film sees Anna Gabriel take over the director's chair with the collaboration of Hamish Hamilton. A simpler approach suggested a different set list and Peter, Hamish and Anna were determined that this should be filmed in a very different style. It shows Peter Gabriel as many of his fans love to see him, just playing the music.

Tales From Topographic Oceans is the fifth in a series of remixed and expanded Yes classics. The album has been remixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound from the original studio masters by Steven Wilson, and is fully approved by Yes. Also includes the original mix in high resolution, and bonus material, including a complete alternate version of the album using live tracks and studio run throughs.

The Blu-Ray features:
- 5.1 PCM Surround Sound (24bit/96khz) and in DTS-HD MA 5.1 (24bit/96khz)
- Hi-res (24bit/96khz) 2016 stereo mix
- Original album mix in a hi-res flat transfer from an original stereo master tape source (24bit/192khz). We believe this is the earliest master of the original mix to be issued in the digital era.

- Instrumental mixes
- Full alternate album featuring: sides 1 and 3 from the 2003 Rhino CD, a previously unreleased studio run-through of Side 2 and previously unreleased live version of Side 4.

Santana - Santana IV: Live at the House of Blues, Las Vegas (2016)
Genre: Blues Rock,Latin Rock,Jazz Fusion,Guitar Virtuoso
Quality: LPCM 2.0 / 48 kHz / 2304 kbps / 24-bit
Time: 02:14:23
Full Size: 2,16Gb

• Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas captures the long anticipated reunion of the classic late-sixties / early-seventies line-up of Santana - Carlos Santana (guitar, vocals); Neal Schon (guitar, vocals); Gregg Rolie (hammond B3, lead vocals); Michael Shrieve (drums) and Michael Carabello (congas, percussion, backing vocals), joined by Karl Perazzo (percussion, vocals), Benny Rietveld (bass) David K. Mathews (keyboards), with special guest vocalist Ronald Isley.
• The Santana IV album, released in April, has been both critically and commercially successful, charting at #5 in the US, #4 in the UK and Top 10 in many other countries around the world. Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas includes several tracks from the new album plus classic hits from the band's first three albums, to which Santana IV is the natural successor, including: "Jingo," "Soul Sacrifice," "Samba Pa Ti," "Black Magic Woman," "Evil Ways," "Oye Como Va," "Everybody's Everything" and more!
• On March 21st, 2016, a few weeks prior to the release of the Santana IV album, this classic line-up of Santana took to the stage at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas. This was a hugely anticipated reunion of a line-up that had not performed and recorded together since the early seventies. It brought back the scintillating combination of rock, Latin, blues, jazz and African rhythms which was the band's trademark and made them truly unique.
• In addition to this fantastic concert, Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas also includes interviews with the band as a bonus feature. Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas was a celebration of the chemistry, dynamism and pure musical joy that had made the original band so special and earned them a place in so many fans' hearts. It is a show to be enjoyed over and over again.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (1999) [2015 Remastered]

Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Full Size: 1,31 Gb

Many figured that the Red Hot Chili Peppers' days as undisputed alternative kings were numbered after their lackluster 1995 release One Hot Minute, but like the great phoenix rising from the ashes, this legendary and influential outfit returned back to greatness with 1999's Californication. An obvious reason for their rebirth is the reappearance of guitarist John Frusciante (replacing Dave Navarro), who left the Peppers in 1992 and disappeared into a haze of hard drugs before cleaning up and returning to the fold in 1998. Frusciante was a main reason for such past band classics as 1989's Mother's Milk and 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and proves once and for all to be the quintessential RHCP guitarist. Anthony Kiedis' vocals have improved dramatically as well, while the rhythm section of bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith remains one of rock's best. The quartet's trademark punk-funk can be sampled on such tracks as "Around the World," "I Like Dirt," and "Parallel Universe," but the more pop-oriented material proves to be a pleasant surprise -- "Scar Tissue," "Otherside," "Easily," and "Purple Stain" all contain strong melodies and instantly memorable choruses. And like their 1992 introspective hit "Under the Bridge," there are even a few mellow moments -- "Porcelain," "Road Trippin'," and the title track. With the instrumentalists' interplay at an all-time telepathic high and Kiedis peaking as a vocalist, Californication is a bona fide Chili Peppers classic. --Greg Prato

Toto have welcomed many different band members across their long career but in the early nineties they had a short period as a four-piece featuring Steve Lukather (guitar & lead vocals), David Paich (keyboards & vocals), Jeff Porcaro (drums & percussion) and Mike Porcaro (bass). The line-up, with some additional touring members, performed this concert at Montreux in July 1991 and would go on to make the Kingdom Of Desire album released in 1992, shortly after the tragic early death of drummer Jeff Porcaro. The Montreux show, now being released for the first time, combines then unreleased tracks from the Kingdom Of Desire album with classic hits and covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone. It is a perfect addition to any Toto fan's collection.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way (2002) [2015 Remastered]
Genre: Alternative Rock,Funk Metal,Funk Rock
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Full Size: 1,59gb

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' eighth studio album finds the California foursome exploring the more melodic freeways of harmony and texture, contrasting the gritty, funky side streets of their early days. Luckily, with this more sophisticated sound, the Peppers have not sacrificed any of their trademark energy or passions for life, universal love, and (of course) lust. Although they recorded the spiky Abbey Road EP in 1988, this album actually sounds a lot closer to the Beatles' Abbey Road, with a little of Pet Sounds and elements of Phil Spector's lushest arrangements all distilled through the band's well-traveled funk-pop stylings. Harmony vocals and string arrangements have replaced some of the aggressive slap bass that the group was initially recognized for, but fans of both the gentle and the fierce Chili Peppers styles will embrace the title track and first single, "By the Way." In fact, this song on its own could almost be a brief history of everything The Red Hot Chili Peppers have recorded: fiery Hollywood funk, gentle harmonies, a little bit of singing about girls, a little bit of hanging out in the streets in the summertime, some rapid-fire raps from Anthony Kiedis, some aggro basslines from Flea -- the song plays like a three-and-a-half-minute audio version of Behind the Music. Overall, the album leans more toward the melodic end of their oeuvre, but they have grown into this kinder, gentler mode organically, progressively working toward this groove little by little, album by album. What once were snapshots of a spastic punk-funk lifestyle have grown into fully realized short stories of introspection and Californication. Though the pace of the album falters at times (particularly in the verses; the choruses are all pretty spectacular), it is refreshing to see that as the four Chili Peppers continue to grow older and more sure of themselves, their composition and performing skills are maturing along with them.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium (2006) [2015 Remastered]

Full Size: 2,74Gb

Indulgence has long been a way of life for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, yet they resisted the siren's call of the double album until 2006's Stadium Arcadium. Sure, 1991's breakthrough Blood Sugar Sex Magik was as long as a classic double LP, but such distinctions mattered little in the era when vinyl gave way to CD, and they matter less now, as the CD gradually gives way to digital-only releases. In fact, like how Blood Sugar was the tipping point when the LPs ceded ground to CDs, Stadium Arcadium could be seen as the point when albums were seen as a collection of digital playlists. Yes, it's pressed up as a two-disc set -- including an extravagant but pointless special edition housed in a clunky box that includes a make-yer-own-spinning-top -- but this is an album that's designed for you to mix and match, create your own playlist, rip and burn on your own. It's designed for you to sequence its 28 songs in some kind of cohesive manner, since the band sure didn't take the time to do that here; it's the first major album by a major band that makes as much sense on random as it does in its proper sequencing. Well, that's not entirely true: the official 28-song album does begin with "Dani California," the clearest single here, the one thing that truly grabs attention upon first listen and worms its way into your subconscious, where it just won't let go, as so much of Anthony Kiedis' catchiest melodies do. After that, it's a long, winding path of alternately spacey and sunny pop, ballads, and the occasional funk workout that used to be the Chili Peppers' signature but now functions as a way to break up the monotony. And there needs to be something to break up the monotony, not because the music is bad but because it all exists at the same level and is given a flat, colorless production that has become the signature of Rick Rubin as of late.

Rubin may be able to create the right atmosphere for Flea and John Frusciante to run wild creatively -- an opportunity that they seize here, which is indeed a pleasure to hear -- but he does nothing to encourage them to brighten the finished recording up with some different textures, or even a greater variety of guitar tones. As such, the bare-bone production combined with the relentless march of songs gives Stadium Arcadium the undeniable feel of wading through the demos for a promising project instead of a sprawling statement of purpose; there's not enough purpose here for it to be a statement. That fault is down to the band not forming the raw material into something palatable for the listener, but there's also the problem that as a lyricist Anthony Kiedis just isn't that deep or clever enough to provide cohesive themes for an album of this length; he tackles no new themes here, nor does he provide new insight to familiar topics. To his credit, he does display a greater versatility as a vocalist, cutting back on the hambone rapping that used to be his signature and crooning throughout the bulk of this album, usually on key. That said, he still has enough goofy tics to undercut his attempts at sincerity, and he tends to be a bit of a liability to the band as a whole; with a different singer, who could help shape and deliver these songs, this album might not seem as formless and gormless. But there is a fair amount of pleasures here, all down to the interplay between Flea and Frusciante. While drummer Chad Smith does prove himself quite versatile here, gracefully following the eccentric turns and meanderings of the bassist and guitarist, the string instruments are the reason to listen to Stadium Arcadium. That's always been the case to a certain extent with the Chili Peppers, but here it's especially true, as they push and pull, rave and rumble, lie back and rock out -- pretty much spit out anything they can do on their instruments over the course of 28 songs. As good as much of this is, there is a little bit of monotony here, since they're working variations on their signature themes, and they haven't found a way to make these variations either transcendent or new; they're just very good renditions on familiar themes. These tracks rarely betray their origins as studio jams -- more than ever, it's possible to hear that the track came first, then the song -- and while that can result in some good listening, it all does kind of drift together. That said, there are no bad tracks here -- it's all of a relatively high quality -- but there are no standouts either, so it takes a very dedicated fan to start sorting out the subtleties between the tracks (not the wheat from the chaff, since it's all wheat). And while those hardcore fans may certainly enjoy the make-your-own-adventure spirit of Stadium Arcadium, it's hard not to feel that it's the band's responsibility to take this very good repetitive album and mold it into something sharper and more effective. So call it the rock version of Peter Jackson's King Kong: there's something pretty great and lean buried beneath the excess, but it's so indulgent, it's a work that only a fanboy could truly love.

Losing John Frusciante for a second time doesn't send the Red Hot Chili Peppers into a tailspin. By now, the Chili Peppers shed guitarists like a second skin, changing their outer layer but retaining their inner core. Such is the case with I'm with You, the band's first album since 2006's Stadium Arcadium. If that double-disc was defined by its unwieldy sprawl, its songs spewed not sequenced, I'm with You is characterized by its focus, both within individual tunes and the songs as a whole. New guitarist Josh Klinghoffer -- veteran sideman and longtime pal of Frusciante who provided secondary guitar on the closing stretch of the Stadium Arcadium tour -- doesn't compete for center stage the way previous Peppers did. He doesn't strut, he weaves, disappearing so completely into the arrangements he doesn't seem to leave his signature despite the heavy layers of guitars on each cut. This makes I'm with You the flipside of One Hot Minute, where the Chili Peppers bent over backward to accommodate Dave Navarro: the Peppers don't miss a step, they almost seem relieved to be carrying on without Frusciante. Part of that could be due to a newfound musical elasticity, a reflection of Flea taking music theory classes at USC during the group's half-decade gap between albums. Certainly a song like "Happiness Loves Company" -- half Beach Boys, half Kinks -- shows a compositional dexterity unthinkable for previous incarnations of the Peppers, but there's no showiness here, the album is all about precision. This extends to Anthony Kiedis, who neither hams it up on the ballads nor goofs around on his raps, he merely serves the purposes of the song like the old pro he now is. Ultimately, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are served well by that professionalism; they're long past the point of proving themselves, they're no longer here for a party, they're rock & roll lifers, and I'm with You illustrates they can settle into maturity convincingly.

Nosound - Scintilla (2016)

http://s2.1pic.org/files/2016/11/15/...e7ef6b274f.jpg
Nosound - Scintilla (2016)
Genre: Psychedelic Rock,Art rock,Progressive rock,Space rock
Quality: LPCM 2.0 / 96 kHz / 4608 kbps / 24-bit
Full Size: 2,52Gb

Nosound's new studio album, their fifth, entitled Scintilla marks a major departure and includes guest appearances from Anathema's Vincent Cavanagh and acclaimed Italian singer Andrea Chimenti.
After a decade of crafting a very particular type of widescreen melancholia and wistful imagery, Nosound's fifth studio album Scintilla introduces a wholly new musical and visual approach for Giancarlo Erra's ever-evolving band.

Inspired by personal upheaval and a desire for change, Scintilla is an emotionally complex and musically direct work presenting a stripped-down set of compositions that mark a major departure from Nosound's trademark symphonic lushness and production precision. Giancarlo Erra says "The intention with Scintilla was to do something a bit more different than previously and illustrating more vigorously what Nosound is today. During a decade of activity, my listening tastes have shifted gradually towards a simpler, more direct music with an intimate character that still retains a certain richness and detail in sound. Northern folk and alt singer-songwriter music are possibly the stronger influences, but generally speaking, everything that is simple, direct and minimal but with rich sound is what I like, and what I hope this album is."
Taking in influences from Post Rock, Shoegaze and Alt-Singer-Songwriters, the album imaginatively utilises a mostly organic and acoustic sound palette. Musically looser and more sonically intimate than the band's previous releases, Scintilla's emphasis is placed firmly on feeling rather than technique. Anathema's Vincent Cavanagh lends his distinctive vocals to two of the album's tracks - 'In Celebration of Life' and 'The Perfect Wife', and cellist Marianne De Chastelaine returns once more to the Nosound fold (this time in a more free-flowing and improvisational capacity). Acclaimed Italian singer Andrea Chimenti co-writes and sings on the serene 'Sogno E Incendio'. Shifting from the uncharacteristic sarcasm of 'Love is Forever' and potent anger of 'The Perfect Wife' to the dreamy sensitivity of 'Emily' and the unusually uplifting 'Celebration of Life', Scintilla represents the boldest statement of Nosound's career so far. A cathartic album of emotional extremes, Scintilla marks the brave beginning of the second phase of Nosound's fascinating career.
Scintilla is now available to order in the following formats, available to pre-order below; A deluxe CD/Blu-Ray in Mediabook with a 24 page booklet. The Blu-Ray contains HD stereo and 5.1 surround sound mixes, plus additional video content.

Motley Crue - The End: Live in Los Angeles (2016)
Genre: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Glam Metal

• On the 31st December 2015 Motley Crue took to the stage of the Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles for their last ever live performance. It was the culmination of their Final Tour which had started in July 2014 and travelled around the world taking in North and South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Europe and the Middle East.
• The band had signed a legally binding "cessation of touring" agreement that prevented them touring as Motley Crue beyond the end of 2015 and so this concert truly was "The End". Known for their over-the-top production, Motley Crue did not disappoint for their last show ever on New Year's Eve: from massive, cutting-edge pyro, including Nikki Sixx's bass guitar spitting fire over 30ft. into the air, and Tommy Lee's "Cruecifly" drum roller coaster, amongst many other spectacular elements. Lead singer, Vince Neil, delivered an emotional, "thank you" speech to the audience, while the band supplied next-level, high-octane fueled energy, ringing in the New Year on stage with thousands of balloons raining down on the crowd. The grand finale of the show included a blow-out performance of their hit single, "Kickstart My Heart" with Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil floating above the audience in far-reaching "cherry-pickers." Leaving fans in tears, the show concluded with an emotional encore rendition of "Home Sweet Home" from the second stage riser in the center of the audience.

The Rolling Stones - Havana Moon (2016)
Genre: Rock
Quality: LPCM 2.0 / 48 kHz / 1536 kbps / 16-bit
Time: 01:50:05
Full Size: 1,18GB

• Good Friday - 25 March 2016 - is a date that will go down in both Cuban and Rock 'n' Roll history. The Rolling Stones became the first rock band to play a massive free outdoor concert to hundreds of thousands in Havana. This historic concert was captured by award winning film director Paul Dugdale and the result is: 'HAVANA MOON' - The Rolling Stones Live in Cuba out on DVD
• The British rockers free show attracted a million people in the country's capital city in the same week as President Obama became the first US President to visit Cuba in 88 years. TV News Networks around the world reported that Obama was 'the warm up act' for The Rolling Stones. As the Stones took to the stage under a perfect 'Havana Moon' in front of an ecstatic crowd everyone knew that this was a life changing cultural moment for a country on the brink of change. There was nothing that was going to come between the band and their eager fans including the Vatican in Rome who had objected to a big rock 'n' roll concert staged in Havana on a Good Friday.
• Mick Jagger welcomed the massive crowd: "Finally the times are changing, Cuba we are so happy to be here" and joked with his bandmates during the performance describing them as "the revolutionary Ronnie Wood, drummer Charlie Che Watts, and compadre Keith Richards".
• They played all the big hits including 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'It's Only Rock 'n' Roll', 'Paint It Black', 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Start Me Up', 'Brown Sugar', 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' in the two hour plus performance all captured here on their 'Havana Moon' DVD.
• As a Cuban Stones fan said, "Wow never, ever, ever did I think we would see this happen. Tonight has been a dream come true for me", while another said: "Simply fantastic - this is a moment I have been dreaming about for a really long time. I have just witnessed the most important concert in Cuba because this is The Rolling Stones."

Skylarking is the fourth in a series of remixed and expanded XTC albums. For many music fans, the band's Todd Rundgren produced 8th album is *the* classic XTC album, and therefore the one for which there has been the most demand for a 5.1 surround mix. The album has been remixed in both new stereo and 5.1 surround sound by Steven Wilson with input from Andy Partridge, and is fully approved by XTC.

Blu-Ray features:
- 5.1 surround album mix in 24bit/96khz in LPCM and DTS HD MA
- The new stereo album mix in 24bit/96khz LPCM audio
- The four additional songs from the album sessions in both stereo and 5.1
- The original (uncorrected polarity) stereo album mix hi-res stereo
- The original (corrected polarity) stereo album mix in hi-res stereo
- Instrumental versions of all new mixes in 24bit/96khz LPCM audio
- A complete alternate album in demo form based on Todd Rundgren's original sequence
- Numerous additional demo & work tape sessions showing the evolution of the album and associated recordings
- Promo films for "Dear God and "Grass"

Working with producer Todd Rundgren didn't necessarily bring XTC a sense of sonic cohesion -- after all, every record since English Settlement followed its own interior logic -- but it did help the group sharpen its focus, making Skylarking its tightest record since Drums and Wires. Ironically, Skylarking had little to do with new wave and everything to do with the lush, post-psychedelic pop of the Beatles and Beach Boys. Combining the charming pastoral feel of Mummer with the classicist English pop of The Big Express, XTC expand their signature sound by enhancing their intelligently melodic pop with graceful, lyrical arrangements and sweeping, detailed instrumentation. Rundgren may have devised the sequencing, helping the record feel like a song cycle even if it doesn't play like one, but what really impresses is the consistency and depth of Andy Partridge's and Colin Moulding's songs. Each song is a small gem, marrying sweet, catchy melodies to decidedly adult lyrical themes, from celebrations of love ("Grass") and marriage ("Big Day") to skepticism about maturation ("Earn Enough for Us") and religion ("Dear God"). Moulding's songs complement Partridge's songs better than before, and each writer is at a melodic and lyrical peak, which Rundgren helps convey with his supple production. The result is a pop masterpiece -- an album that has great ambitions and fulfills them with ease. The initial release of Skylarking didn't feature "Dear God," which was originally the B-side of "Grass." After "Dear God" became an unexpected hit, "Mermaid Smile" was pulled from the album so the hit single could be added.

Dear Jerry: Celebrating The Music Of Jerry Garcia (2016) DTS-HD MA 5.1

Full Size: 2,48Gb

}• Essentially a warm-up gig for the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary shows, this double CD documents three sets of music performed by the surviving Grateful Dead members and a crew of fellow travelers. Ostensibly a tribute to one Jerome Garcia (1942-1995), this May 2015 show in Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion also celebrates the greater jam-band community, both musicians and audience, that keep the leading-averse bandleader's increasingly codified but mostly inquisitive spirit alive.
• Tribute shows, with their Teleprompter-abetted guest spots, rarely equal the real deal, and this one's no exception. It does have its moments, however, beginning with Phil Lesh and his Communion ensemble's show-opening "The Wheel/Uncle John's Band," 17 minutes so silky and sinuously tuned-in you can almost understand the bassist's decision to blow off the rest of the event. And much of the second set stands as a kind of fathers-and-sons testament, with Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann shepherding the Disco Biscuits and other third-generation improv-rockers through spirited renditions of Grateful Dead jam staples "Scarlet Begonias/I Know You Rider" and "Help on the Way"/"Slipknot"/"Franklin's Tower."
• Garcia's bluegrass buddy David Grisman ("Shady Grove"), New Orleans composer-pianist Allen Toussaint (Get Out of My Life, Woman"), and reggae icon Jimmy Cliff ("The Harder They Come") represent Garcia's various stylistic and cover enthusiasms. (Don Was led a crisp house band.) And Moe. ("Loser") and Widespread Panic ("Morning Dew") tackle their material with grace and gravitas befitting the uncompromising, decades-old jam masters they are.
• Whether joining Los Lobos for "Bertha," or winding things down with "Touch of Grey" and "Ripple," Bob Weir, judging by the DVD version of the show, looks vaguely uncomfortable throughout, even while performing like the wise old trooper he still is. Perhaps he's pondering Lesh's absence, or, even more conspicuously, that of lyricist Robert Hunter, who arguably brought as much to this music, this legacy, as did his writing partner. In any case, Weir knows there's always another gig coming up down the road, and the final Dear Jerry letter is yet to be delivered. --Richard Gehr, Rolling Stone

Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression album, a collaboration with co-writer and producer Joshua Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age, is his most critically acclaimed and commercially successful album for many years. On May 13, 2016, Iggy Pop brought his Post Pop Depression live show to London's revered Royal Albert Hall and almost tore the roof off! With a backing band including Joshua Homme and Dean Fertita from Queens Of The Stone Age and Matt Helders from the Arctic Monkeys, Iggy delivered a set focused almost entirely on the new album plus his two classic David Bowie collaboration albums from 1977, The Idiot and Lust For Life. Fans and critics alike raved about the performance and this will definitely be remembered as one of Iggy Pop's finest concerts.

The latest album of Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY, »Prometheus, Symphonia Ignis Divinus«, was chosen to be the first studio album in music history to be remixed in Dolby Atmos. Renowned producer/mixing engineer Chris Heil (DAVID BOWIE, BRYAN ADAMS, SCORPIONS) mixed the entire masterpiece in Dolby Atmos - the mindblowing result will be submitted for the 2017 Grammy nominations. »Prometheus, The Dolby Atmos Experience + Cinematic And Live« will be released December, 9th via Nuclear Blast.
Luca Turilli, responsible for composition and orchestra- and choir-arrangements states: "The new Dolby Atmos sound fits perfectly with Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY music just as the RHAPSODY music - emotional, visionary and cinematic in its nature - is perfect to showcase the potential of an amazing technology destined to revolutionize the field of immersive audio's experience. From a composer's point of view, Dolby Atmos is like the advent of a canvas with colors in three dimensional space. It enables me to place the band, orchestra and choir around me like I would in a real life situation, granting to the listener an emotional and breathtaking journey in a parallel dimension. Every instrument can finally breathe and live in three dimensions, turning the Dolby Atmos version of RHAPSODY's music into a divine, musical experience of transcendence. No limits for creativity anymore. This new Dolby technology allows my heart and soul to finally express themselves with complete freedom and exciting force!"
But what actually is Dolby Atmos? Cinemas discovered this new format and integrated loud speakers in their ceilings to place the listener into an 'acoustic honeycomb?. "This novelty has now reached the home technology and we at Yamaha wanted to support the project of Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY with an audio-bluray-disc in Dolby Atmos", Michael Geise from Yamaha explains. "It's a very thrilling challenge and makes this release a vivid and new experience. And since we are always looking for new contents, the cooperation with Luca Turilli was a great idea for us. Dolby Atmos is already included in our receivers and the customer can immediately use it - but so far only few releases support this new format and usually it is only available for films, not for music blurays. But now it is and we created a medium that could easily bring instruments to life, without any artifical effects. We had the know-how to turn this performance into a real live experience with our loudspeakers, receivers and the new sound bar that brings the musicians almost right into everyone's living room!"
Producer and mixer Chris Heil found Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY almost by accident: "I heard excerpts from »Prometheus, Symphonia Ignis Divinus« in the studio right next to me and knew immediately that this was the material I wanted to use to showcase the potential of Dolby Atmos to the world. This kind of music is made for this format with its combination of band, orchestra and choir arrangements. I called Luca Turilli immediately to ask his permission to use the material and he immediately agreed.
The result of their two months long cooperation is a vivid combination of metal, filmscore and a wide variety of ethnic elements. "It is incredibly entertaining and inspiring to listen to the result. It's the first album in my 36-year career where I had to leave longer pauses between the tracks because you really need time to digest that bombastic sound. It's mindblowing," states Chris Heil. And Luca Turilli agrees: "Dolby Atmos will bring a revolution to the world of films and music and allows you to enjoy every release even more!"

Quality: DTS-HD MA 2.0 / 48 kHz / 2365 kbps / 24-bit
Time: 01:29:24

• Last year marked the 25th anniversary of Extreme's classic multi-Platinum, Grammy nominated PORNOGRAFFITTI, the definitive album of the band's career. To mark the anniversary, Loud & Proud Records releases PORNOGRAFFITTI LIVE 25 / METAL MELTDOWN, a 3-disc set as part of their four-part Metal Meltdown DVD series. The concert film captures the the Boston band performing PORNOGRAFFITTI in its entirety. The BluRay/DVD/CD release also features a documentary that takes fans through Extreme's story, archive footage and a photo gallery. The band achieved their greatest success with their 1990 album PORNOGRAFFITTI, which peaked at #10 on the Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, and was certified multi-Platinum. Musically, PORNOGRAFFITTI is dominated by blistering guitar riffs, often with funky, syncopated timing, and incendiary, high-speed rock/metal solos. The record garnered Bettencourt widespread admiration from rock guitar enthusiasts and provided continued exposure in leading guitar publications. But it was the acoustic ballad single,"More Than Words", that reached #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The subsequent single, "Hole Hearted", another acoustic track, was also successful, rising to #4 on the same chart. "Decadence Dance"; and "Get the Funk Out"; were also released as singles both landing on Billboard's Rock chart and becoming fan favorites.
