At this point, DOKKEN simply needs no introduction. The band cemented their status as one of the legendary hard rock/heavy metal archetypes of the '80s rock scene with nu-merous successful albums and tours, evergreen songs and music videos and a lore that will live on forever.

A Traveler's Guide to Space and Time is a first box set by German power metal band Blind Guardian. It contains 15 CDs and covers the bands discography during the so-called Virgin years, between 1988 and 2004. Along with seven studio albums, two live albums and one compilation album (all of them remastered in 2012 and some remixed), it also includes Imaginations Through the Looking Glass in audio format, a special edition of Nightfall In Middle-Earth and a CD of demos and rarities.It also came with a 20-page glossy booklet, limited and numbered Blind Guardian art print on special paper and a guitar pick with band logo. It is a strictly limited edition, as only 8000 copies were made worldwide.

We managed to blend everything we love about music, to be honest. But one thing is for sure, we've never felt such a strong connection with the songs before," says singer Vicky White .

With nods to the great '80s hard rock scene, but also bordering on heavy metal (listen to those kicks drums on first single 'Criminal Masterminds'), this band is a delightful mix of catchy and driving. With a great whisky-soaked sounding throat, vocalist Vicky White provides the perfect voice for the thunder and lightning that guitarist Harry Rivers, bassist Gunn Everett, and drummer Gus Hawk are raining down upon us.

Kong is an Amsterdam-based band, known for creating an avant-garde mix of rock, electronica, and industrial. Nearly all of Kong's music is instrumental, with the only vocals being an eclectic blend of sampling. The band is perhaps most notable for the quadrophonic approach to their shows: live performances are played in a quadraphonical setup, with each band member having his/her own, independent stage and PA system.

Kong was formed in 1988 by guitarist/synth programmer Dirk de Vries, guitarist Aldo Sprenger, bassist/synth programmer Mark Drillich, and drummer Rob Smits. The band released their debut album Mute Poet Vocalizer in 1990 and started touring across Europe. Kong's second album Phlegm was released in 1992 and contains the band's best-known song Stockhouse.

}"Too old to know better/ too young for her age," Chrissie Hynde sings, flashing by a mirror in the slow soul music sway of "You Can't Hurt a Fool" from Hate For SaleAlone, produced by by Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, and featuring the musicians from his band The Arcs emphasized that point. Now under the steady hand of producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Cranberries, Blur), Hynde and her touring band of 15 years have hatched an album that will especially resonate with fans of the band's early work. With original drummer Martin Chambers aboard, this also feels and sounds like the first true "band" album in a very long time-a throwback move where Hynde, still in good voice, again sounds emotionally engaged. Energized by a solid batch of co-writes between Hynde and touring guitarist James Walbourne, Hate for Sale opens with the snarling title track that both savages an ex-lover, and according to Hynde, serves as a tribute to punk outfit The Damned, whose members she once jammed with just before they became a band. Single "The Buzz," an immediately recognizable return to a vintage Pretenders sound, has changes and rhythms similar to "Kid" from the band's 1980 eponymous debut album. The reasonably credible reggae of "Lightning Man" is another tribute, this time to Richard Swift, a chief mover behind Alone.
