AC/DC areleased their 17th studio album POWER UP on the 13th November 2020 through Columbia Records/Sony Music Australia. After 47 years of rocking the world with their iconic sound and over 200 million records sold worldwide, this marks their first new music since the departure of Malcolm Young in 2014. As the renowned co-founder, guitarist and song writer of AC/DC; Malcolm walked away from playing in the band due to health reasons and sadly passed in 2017.

AC/DC could be forgiven for hanging up their boots with such a monumental loss but as nearly 50 years of stage, lights and monumental rock has proven; the power only goes one way.

he band has continued to generate their fierce energy with the lineup of Angus Young [lead guitar], Brian Johnson [lead vocals], Cliff Williams [bass guitar], Phil Rudd [drums], and Stevie Young [rhythm guitar] since the loss of Malcolm. After lighting up stages and filling stadiums with the refined chaos of their live sound and supportive crew, the band have reunited with producer Brendan O'Brien who helmed BLACK ICE in 2008 and ROCK OR BUST in 2014. Formed in the aftermath of MOTORHEAD's dissolution, following the death of Lemmy Kilmister in 2016, PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS were always going to draw a crowd at any discerning rock or metal festival. Led by one of the genre's most respected guitarists, the band emerged onto the 2017 touring circuit powered by a huge amount of good will, a smattering of MOTORHEAD covers and a handful of new songs that crackled with passion and swagger. April 2020 saw Katatonia present their eleventh studio opus, the poignant City Burials, to unanimous acclaim but with the unforeseen global event transpiring this year resulting in their album touring plans being put on hold, Katatonia conducted a more intimate "lockdown" show which was streamed live from Studio Grondahl, Stockholm on May 9th. Dead Air offers fans a full 88-minute set containing 20 tracks from the band's extensive and illustrious repertoire to date, with inclusions spanning two decades of dark progressive greatness, and essentially also debuting three of the City Burials album tracks in a live setting.

The recording, mixing & engineering work was orchestrated by David Castillo, notable for his extensive body of work with Katatonia to date.

Mandala, the Anglo-Scandic trio Mandala, led by multi-instrumentalist Rhys Marsh, return with their second album The Echoes Of Your Mind on November 13.

"The Echoes Of Your Mind is a 40-minute excursion into some heavy, Middle Eastern-inspired psychedelic rock," explains Marsh.

The Echoes Of Your Mind is the first to feature their new bassist Markus Wisth Edvardsen - alongside founder members Marsh on guitar and vocals, and Will Spurling on drums.

The main tracks were recorded live in Marsh's Autumnsongs Recording Studio, with only the vocals and psychedelic elements being overdubbed, during ten days in the eternal daylight of the Norwegian summer.

The Pink Floyd of the late 1980s was an altogether different proposition to the band that had grown to prominence since the late 1960s. After 'The Final Cut' in 1983, frontman, bassist and lyricist Roger Waters quit to go solo, assuming that without his stewardship, Pink Floyd would quietly die. Feeling himself suddenly liberated, lead guitarist David Gilmour had other ideas. Following an infamously bitter legal wrangle over the rights to record as 'Pink Floyd' (Gilmour won), the band carried on without Waters and charted a new direction.

'Delicate Sound of Thunder' retains is freshness, and its sound is bolstered by the army of backing singers and guest musicians who are brought on stage to perform. Fans can't help but notice an absence of tracks from 1983's 'The Final Cut', the album recorded under fractious circumstances. However, all of their big successes from the 1970s are included. Understandably, The Dark Side of the Moon gets a good airing ('Time', 'The Great Gig in the Sky', 'Money', 'Us and Them'). There's also most of the 1975 'Wish You Were Here' album, and 'Run Like Hell', 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Another Brick in the Wall Part 2' from 1979's 'The Wall'. Only 1977's 'Animals' is conspicuous by its absence. The rendition of classic tracks will appeal to the purists. Although played live (having been recorded in studio) at a distance of a decade or more, they are encapsulated perfectly, and played with very little deviation from the established album tracks. Everyone will have their favourite, but for me, it's hard to beat 'Comfortably Numb', taken to whole new levels of bombast here.
