El acta de registro originada a inicios de la guerra civil dictó que todo enmascarado que quisiese obrar como superheroe debía inscribirse y de esta forma pasaría a ser un empleado del gobierno bajo el mando de SHIELD teniendo diversos beneficios como un sueldo y seguro de salud, pero quienes no hagan esto infringen la ley y arriesgan condena presidiaria.

La Iniciativa es algo que ya habíamos oído en boca de Tony Stark y Reed Richards a lo largo de la guerra Civil, bajo el nombre de La iniciativa de los 50 Estados. Estos pretenden que cada estado de los, ejem, Estados unidos, tenga su propio grupo de superhéroes, para evitar así que ocurra lo que, en apariencia, desencadenó la Guerra Civil.

The Initiative comienza en las páginas finales de Civil War #7. Una vez finalizado el enfrentamiento entre los super-héroes, el gobierno norteamericano decide continuar con su política de un supergrupo en cada Estado. Eso es la Iniciativa. De esta manera, se forman agrupaciones en las que se incluyen héroes nuevos, otros recuperados del olvido e incluso malo reconvertidos (Thunderbolts, que son solicitados como el grupo oficial de un estado por su gobernador).

Avengers Disassembled o Vengadores Desunidos es el preludio a las sagas House Of M y Civil War. La historia se concentra en que los héroes (Vengadores, 4 Fantásticos, Spider-Man, etc...) son atacados, no sólo físicamente sino también emocionalmente.

La serie se centra en los Vengadores, y esto arrastra crisis en las vidas de Captain America, Iron Man y Thor. Los números de Los 4 Fantásticos y Spider-Man no están relacionados, pero constan de sus propias historias que ocurren antes, mediante o después del suceso principal, llevando así el título de "Desunidos".

En resumen, la saga abarca los números del 00 al 04, concluyendo en el número 04 - Avengers Finale que marca el fin de los Vengadores, dando lugar a dos nuevas entidades en el mundo MARVEL, New Avengers y Young Avengers. En “Messiah Complex” todo fue una cacería, una búsqueda. Quizás, esa fue la gracia y encanto de la saga. Todo se encamina para devolverle, además, el factor del racismo que siempre ha adornado a esta historieta. Si en la Decimation dejaron al mundo casi sin mutantes y, por lo tanto, son un grupo minúsculo que sacan hasta de la Guerra Civil, ahora se devuelve el foco ya que el primer mutante que ha nacido luego del M-Day será primordial para el futuro mutante.

Haciéndola corta, Cable (el hijo futurístico de Cíclope) lo protege ya que salvaría a la humanidad y mutanidad, mientras que el también futurístico Bishop dice que ese niño será la causa de que en el futuro se creen campos de concentración con lo que la tragedia ensombrecerá el destino mutante. Al final de la historia (medio salto), Cable escapa en el tiempo luego de que Cíclope le entrega al niño ya que dice que merece hacer su propio destino. Sin embargo, tratando impedir que su futuro se cumpla, Bishop dispara contra el niño pero falla, dándole al Profesor Xavier… mandándolo “al patio de los callados”. Todo termina con los X-Men desbandados ya que no existe razón para continuar. El sueño de Xavier ha sido enterrado.

Esta saga empieza en el tomo 546 de Amazing Spiderman, es decir, justo después de One More Day, es una de las jugadas más arriesgadas que esta tomando Marvel y todo por culpa del señor Quesada.

Seguramente mucho de ustedes pensarán "todo tiempo pasado fue mejor" después de leer estos comics.. pero bueno, en el presente las cosas son así.
