To create a new work, he usually takes a piece of paper, brush and watercolors and starts to experiment with them. Then he scans all he painted and overlaps it with the photograph. Finally, he makes a draughtsmanship or sometimes creates something different from the photo.

Though Alexey Kurbatov is a popular artist now, he always wanted to be a film expert or a cook. But his aunt owned a printing-office and he himself had a computer at home. All this gave him an opportunity to print his first postcard. Later his brother brought him a map-board and since that moment Alexey started painting every minute of his free time. Soon he quited his job and fully devoted himself to painting.

Now his job takes a lot of time and mostly consists in photo selection and work on a computer. However, he’d really like to work with “live” material. During the last several months he experimented with oil painting. But, as it turned out, it’s a very difficult thing to do which requires almost Herculean efforts.
