Step 3: open snowbreeze 2.7.3 (http://www.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/download-jailbreak-software.html), choose expert mode, then create pwsd (i think its what is called) allow it to do what it does, then just follow through the on screen instructions.
Step 4: it will now be in pwned dfu mode
Step 5: snowbreeze will have saved the custom 4.3.3 firmware on the desktop, load up iphone, it will prompt you to restore, on windows press shift and click restore – this will browse to a file of your choice, choose the one on the desktop.

YOUR WELCOME!
Thanks Ibrahem Aly & Sukhdeep

Another Method Similar like above :

So I was able to do it on ipod touch 4g and iphone 4, they were both on 4.3.5 without shsh here are the steps.
Note: FIRST THING TURN OFF ALL FIREWALLS THIS INCLUDES WINDOWS DEFENDER AND WINDOWS FIREWALL AND INCLUDING ONES YOU HAVE INSTALLED

Download Sn0wbreeze 2.7.3 (http://www.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/download-jailbreak-software.html)
download ipsw 4.3.3 (http://www.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/ios-download-ipsw-firmware-official.html)
download redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc17 (http://www.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/download-jailbreak-software.html)
download tinyumbrella (http://thefirmwareumbrella.*************/)
download iTunes 10.4.1 (http://www.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/download-itunes-10-4-1-for-windows-and-mac-official.html)
Step 1: use sn0wbreeze to create a custom firmware from 4.3.3
Step 2: use redsn0w with ipsw 4.3.3 to enter into pwned DFU mode
Step 3: make sure you have
#74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
in your host file located here:-
C:WindowsSystem32driversetc
Step 4: run tinyumbrella and start TSS Server
Step 5: run itunes 10.4.1 and when asked to restore use Shift + restore and point it to the custom ipsw and that should work.

----------
it work for me http://cdn.iphonehowtojailbreak.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
not exactly the same step.
Step 1: You have to go to C:WindowsSystem32driversetc , and replace “HOST” file with the downloaded one in “Restore Files” folder
Step 2: Open redsn0w and jailbreak your device but you have to point to iOS 4.3.3 instead of 4.3.4.
(some time I was not in DFU mode, but you have to be at the end in DFU mode). run again redsn0w and choose reboot
Step 3: Create a custome 4.3.3 restore with sn0wbreeze 2.7.3 (i went with expert mode and didnt change any options). stay into sn0wbreeze and press Start.
Step 4 : go to itune and restore phone with custom firmware. I have got error 37. after what i have try with apple firmware in itune and have got error 3×94 or 1601, i dont remember. (phone was in DFU mode I thing)
Step 5 : Run Tiny Umbrella 5.00.09 and clic on FIX RECOVERY, after what start the TSS server.
Step 6 : after what i have try to custom restore (shift+restore) in itune. I have got error with custom firmware and apple firmware.

---------

I’ve being testing every single method posted here and many others that I’ve found on the internet.
This method posted here (copy below) has a problem on the 5th step. Where it says load up iPhone should be iTunes. That itself already makes people confused.
But that’s not all.
On step 6 you should be ready to use your device because it says: “this will downgrade your iphone through iTunes (smile) it will boot up with a fully restored iphone” so after that you would be able to play with it, but no, on step 7 it is said to create a new file using sn0wbreeze (“custom 4.3.3″ that you had supposed already created on step 3), enter DFU mode, open Tiny Umbrella and finally restore it through iTunes AGAIN (supposedly done on step 5).
Another thing is that on step 2 it says to open redsn0w and jealbreak your device loading the firmware 4.3.3, but if you were able to do that, this post would not be necessary. After this step your phone will stuck on the logo screen (and will stay there forever) when it reboots after the jailbreak process and you will never go to the 3rd step.
Sorry, but this post was made by a person that wastes time (doing s**t) and wants to make you waste yours too.
“Step 1: You have to go to C:WindowsSystem32driversetc , and replace “HOST” file with the downloaded one in “Restore Files” folder
Step 2: Open redsn0w and jailbreak your device but you have to point to iOS 4.3.3 instead of 4.3.4.
Step 3: open snowbreeze 2.7.3, choose expert mode, then create pwsd (i think its what is called) allow it to do what it does, then just follow through the on screen instructions.

Step 7: Create a custome 4.3.3 restore with sn0wbreeze 2.7.3 (i went with expert mode and didnt change any options)
Step 8: Enter pwned dfu mode through sn0wbreeze
Step 9: Run Tiny Umbrella and start the TSS server.
Step 10: load iTunes and start the restore process with your custom restore file.
Step 11: Now you are on Iphone 4 iOS 4.3.3 and you able now to use JailbreakME 3.0 – UnTethered Jailbreak.”

Fix FaceTime and MMS Problem on iPhone 4 After Jailbreaking with JailbreakMe 2.0

I just found out about this fix from Redmond Pie’s Facebook fanpage and thought I should share it with you all. If you cant wait for JailbreakMe (http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-iphone-4-3gs-3g-on-ios-4-4.0.1-and-ipad-on-ios-3.2.1-with-jailbreakme/) update, here is a quick possible fix for FaceTime and MMS issue on iPhone 4 after jailbreak using JailbreakMe 2.0 (Star). Simply follow the step by step guide below to fix the issue.
Step 1: Follow the step by step guide posted here (http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-ios-4.0.1-on-iphone-4-3gs-new-bootrom-with-jailbreakme-2.0-star-how-to-guide-video/) to jailbreak your iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 using JailbreakMe.
Step 2: Once you are done with the jailbreak, start “Cydia” on your iPhone.
Step 3: Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom.
Step 4: Now touch on “Sources” as seen in the screenshot below:
http://www.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/CydiaiPhone411.jpg
Step 5: Touch on “Edit”, and then on “Add”. You should now be prompted to enter a url source as seen in the screenshot below. Type “http://iphonedelivery.advinux.com/cydia/” and click on“Add Source”.
http://www.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/CydiaiPhone421.jpg
Cydia will now automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps.
Step 6: After installation is completed. Search for “iPhoneDelivery” in Cydia and install this application. This app apparently fixes both the FaceTime and MMS issue.
http://www.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/CydiaiPhone431.jpg
Let us know how this one goes for you in the comments section below. [Thanks Ran Cohen for the share on Redmond Pie’s Facebook Fanpage (http://www.facebook.com/RedmondPie#!/posted.php?id=98907307167&share_id=136616023041514&comments=1#s136616023041514)]
UPDATE 1: JailbreakMe has been updated which has fixed all the problems related to FaceTime and MMS. If you are doing a fresh jailbreak, you will not have any of these issues. Existing users will need to do a “Complete Upgrade” of Cydia followed by a reset of Network Settings. To do this, simply fire up Cydia and let the loading to finish. It will now automatically ask you to update Cydia. Touch on “Complete Upgrade” and reboot the device once it is done. Go to Settings –> General –> Reset –> Reset Network Settings. Reboot the device again. The problem should be fixed now.
UPDATE 2: Are you stuck on purple-colored space screen of JailbreakMe? Follow the instructions posted here (http://www.redmondpie.com/fix-purple-screen-problem-when-jailbreaking-using-jailbreakme-2.0/) to fix this problem.

Download Push Doctor to Enable Push Notifications & Fix YouTube Error on iOS 4.3.5

If you have managed to jailbreak your iPhone to iOS 4.3.5 (http://jaxov.com/2011/07/download-ios-4-3-5-ipsw-for-iphone-4-3gs-ipad-2-1-ipod-touch-4g-3g-direct-links/) then it should be possible that you are experiencing problems with Push Notifications or having YouTube errors. This is especially true with an hacktivated iPhone. In order to enable Push Notifications and fix the YouTube error, you will need to obtain legitimate activation certs which you can only get by using SAM (http://jaxov.com/2011/05/download-sam-to-activate-iphone-4-3gs-officially-on-ios-4-3-3/) to activate your iPhone or by installing Push Doctor.

http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Push-Notifications-on-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
For whatever reason you are unable to fix Push Notifications and the YouTube error on your iPhone by using SAM in iOS 4.3.5, then don't fret because you still have the alternate option of using Push Doctor. For the record, we recommend that you use SAM first to fix Push Notifications and YouTube error due to the fact that it provides your device with improved battery life. But in case you have no choice but to use Push Doctor on iOS 4.3.5, we have a step by step guide for you below.
Steps to Install Push Doctor to Enable Push Notifications & Fix YouTube Error on iOS 4.3.5:

Launch Cydia in your iOS 4.3.5 jailbroken iPhone. In case you haven't done it yet, then you can use our Redsn0w (http://jaxov.com/2011/07/how-to-use-redsn0w-0-9-8b34-to-jailbreak-ios-4-3-5-on-windows-mac/) tethered jailbreak guide.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Home_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
First we will need to add the Insanelyi repo to Cydia. So if you have already done so, you can now skip to step 4. Tap the Manage tab located below the screen and on the next screen tap Sources.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Manage-Tab_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Sources_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
On the next screen, Tap the Edit button at the top right corner of the screen followed by tapping the Add button on the top left corner. Cydia will now ask for the Cydia/APT URL. Just enter the following: http://repo.insanelyi.com and then tap Add Source to confirm.
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Insanelyi-Repo-Address-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
4. Cydia should now add the Insanelyi repo to its database so give it a few seconds to update. Once the process is complete, we now need to search for Push Doctor by tapping the Search tab below. On the search field, type "Push Doctor" (without quotes). Push Doctor should appear among the search results.
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Search-Push-Doctor-in-Cydia-iOS-4.3.5.jpg5. 5. Now select Push Doctor by tapping it. On the details page, tap Install on the top right of the screen.
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Push-Doctor-1.01-1.jpg
6. Cydia will now install Push Doctor into your iPhone. Once that's done, simply Reboot your iPhone and you should be done. If you want to test and see if Push Notifications works or not, you can download the iPusher app (http://jaxov.com/2011/02/how-to-check-if-push-notifications-are-working-fine-or-not/) from the App Store. Take note that for iPusher to properly work, you need to make sure that you are connected to a WiFi network.

7. In most cases, installing Push Doctor should also fix the Cannot connect to YouTube error but in case the error is still present, just repeat the first 6 steps and install YouTube Fix #1 after adding the Pushfix repo: http://cydia.pushfix.info. Upon successful installation, reboot your iPhone and hopefully you'll never see the YouTube error again.

How to Activate iPhone 4/3GS on iOS 4.3.5 using SAM?

http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/top-logo-728x90.png (http://jaxov.com/advertisment.php?id=x283476xyjj276)

4/3GS on iOS 4.3.5 using SAM?

As you all know, the latest version of iOS 4 as of now is iOS 4.3.5 (http://jaxov.com/2011/07/download-ios-4-3-5-ipsw-for-iphone-4-3gs-ipad-2-1-ipod-touch-4g-3g-direct-links/). Which is also most likely the final version of iOS 4 until the next version, the iOS 5 (http://jaxov.com/tag/iOS-5/) reaches the final build and officially released to the public. If you have managed to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, then we highly recommend to install SAM into your iPhone so you can officially activate it through iTunes. Why? Installing SAM will not only fully enable working Push Notifications but it will also help in improving your iPhone's battery life. For your information, SAM tricks iTunes to generate activation packets for your iPhone which are legitimate so that it fully activates even without hacktivation or an official carrier SIM card.

http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Cydia-Top-Ten.jpg
Steps to Officially Activate iPhone 4/3GS on iOS 4.3.5 Using SAM:

Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. If you haven't jailbroken your device yet, then refer to our Redsn0w (http://jaxov.com/2011/07/how-to-use-redsn0w-0-9-8b34-to-jailbreak-ios-4-3-5-on-windows-mac/) tethered jailbreak guide for instructions.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Home_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
Below Cydia, you should see a Manage tab which you need to tap. And on the next screen, tap on Sources.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Manage-Tab_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-Sources_iOS-4.3.5.jpg
You should now be in the repo list screen. Tap Edit on the top-right of the screen, followed by a tap on the Add button located at the top left. You will be prompted by Cydia to enter the Cydia/APT URL. Just type the following: http://repo.bingner.com and then tap the Add Source button.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-Cydia-Repo-Address-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
Cydia should now update its repository database for a few seconds. Once that's done, tap the Search tab and in the search field, type SAM.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-Cydia-Search-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
SAM should appear in the search results if you've followed the above instructions properly. Select SAM from the search results and then tap Install.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-for-iPhone-4-iPhone-3GS.jpg
Cydia will now be installing SAM into you device and once that's done you will be asked to Reboot Device, so go ahead and do that to complete the installation.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cydia-SAM-Installed-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
Once SAM is installed on your iPhone, navigate to Settings > SAM > Utilities and tap Revert Lockdown to Stock. You should see a Stockification Success message. Otherwise, if you see a failure notification then it means that do not have the correct version of SAM installed
http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-Stockification-Success.jpg
Go back to SAM's main menu by tapping the SAM button at the top left of the screen. And that's it. Now we just need to activate your iPhone through iTunes.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-After-Activation.jpg
Plug your iPhone to your PC or Mac via USB cable and open iTunes. You should see the following screen in iTunes below:http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-iTunes.jpg
Just wait for a few moments while iTunes generate legitimate activation packets for your iPhone. Now your device should be ready for syncing and backup.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-Activated-iTunes.jpg
After syncing and backing up your iPhone, you should see an iTunes error 1651. Don't be alarmed because it's normal. Just ignore the error.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/iTunes-Error-1651.jpg
Now to see if activation is successful, open the SAM app on your iPhone and tap on More Information menu. Check the ActivationState and if you see it as WildcardActivated, then you're done. Congratulations, your iPhone is now activated.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/SAM-WildcardActivated-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
If you want to test if Push Notifications are working fine or not, download and install the iPusher (http://jaxov.com/2011/02/how-to-check-if-push-notifications-are-working-fine-or-not/) app from the App Store. Launch the app and tap the Test Push Notifications button and if you see the Yay, push notifications work fine! message, then it means everything is A-OK. Take note that you need to be connected to a WiFi connection with an active internet connection before you can test Push Notifications using iPusher.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Push-Notifications-on-iOS-4.3.5.jpg
NOTE: In case Push Notifications are still not working after installing SAM on iOS 4.3.5, then read this guide (http://jaxov.com/2011/05/push-notifications-not-working-on-ios-4-3-3-after-using-sam-how-to-fix/) on how to fix them. Now if you encounter the "SIM Card Not Does Not Appear to be Supported" error in iTunes, just refer to this how-to guide (http://jaxov.com/2011/05/fix-sim-card-not-supported-error-while-activating-iphone-with-sam/).

--------

Hey. I was in the same boat, I have a Telus locked iPhone, unlocked with Gevey, trying to use on Rogers. I could do everything but activate facetime, well after 4 days trying (mitime didn't work for me), I figured out a way to get facetime working for FREE.

First, get to your desired firmware (I'm running 4.3.3), jailbreak it (may not be necessary, but I jailbroke mine), and ensure it's properly activated and that push is working. Either use a legit sim, or SAM to activate.

Then, use the program DISK AID, connect to the root of your iPhone.
Navigate to System > Library > Carrier bundles > iPhone > Unknown.bundle

Save out the carrier.plist that is in unknown.bundle. Save it to your desktop somewhere you can find it later.

Then, navigate to your intended carrier bundle, for example, mine was Rogers, so I went into the Rogers_ca.bundle, copy the carrier.pist from here into the unknown.bundle folder.

You have just overwritten the stock unknown carrier plist with the Rogers carrier plist.

The reason for this is so that you can use the correct number registration used for facetime activations.

Reboot your iPhone. Do the gevey process again. If you can't see the option to edit your "Cellular Data Network" in Settings > General > Network, then it worked. To clarify, it should be missing.

So, now you have verified that you are using the Rogers carrier.plist. Go to Settings > Phone > and Turn ON facetime.
It will send a text message to the proper Rogers auth number (49988) instead of the UK number the unknown carrier tried to use.

You will be authorized! FaceTime works. Congrats.

Now.. you could leave it as is, but you might not have wifi tethering support.

To enable tethering, reconnect your phone to DISK AID and restore the saved unknown.bundle carrier.plist into the uknown.carrier folder.

Reboot.
Do Gevey process again.
Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network, and reset settings.
It should clear all APNs
Manually re-enter your carrier settings for APN, MMS and Tether.

Exit

Everything should now be working, Push, Facetime, Cell Data, WiFi Tether.
You're welcome!

NOTES: This process of swapping the carrier.plist file into the unknown bundle folder should work to enable facetime with any OFFICIAL carrier.

You must copy the plists around because editing them is not possible, the plists on iOS 4.x are signed and cannot be changed, but you CAN move them around.

Error While Activating Your iPhone with SAM

Tweet (http://twitter.com/share)
Here is a quick tip for those who are getting "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" error while activating their iPhone 4/3GS/3G on iOS 4.x.x using SAM. Thanks to Gti3993 (http://jaxov.com/2011/03/how-to-activate-iphone-4-3gs-on-ios-4-3-ios-4-3-1-using-sam/#comment-24093) for confirming that the SAMPrefs depends on the original carrier of iPhone, NOT on the ICCID (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_Identity_Module#ICCID) and IMSI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Mobile_Subscriber_Identity) of the SIM card. So, with this guide, you can activate your iPhone with ANY unofficial carrier SIM card using SAM. This will also enable fully working Push Notifications (http://jaxov.com/2011/05/how-to-fix-push-notifications-youtube-on-ios-4-3-3-with-push-doctor/) and will fix "Cannot Connect to YouTube" error on your iPhone.

Steps to Fix SAM: SIM Card Not Does Not Appear to be Supported Error

Navigate to Settings » General » About and look for your MODEL number. In this case, i have iPhone 4 with model number MC608LL and its unlocked using Gevey SIM (http://jaxov.com/2011/04/how-to-use-gevey-turbo-sim-to-unlock-iphone-4/).http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/iPhone-4-Model-Number.jpg
Now you need to do little Googling and find out the official carrier to which your iPhone is locked to. In this case, my iPhone 4 is locked at AT&T (United States)
I am assuming that you have already installed SAM on your iPhone. If not then add http://repo.bingner.com repo to Cydia and install SAM on your iPhone. Once installed, navigate to Settings » SAM » Utilities and tap on Revert Lockdown to Stock button. You will see Stockification Success message. If you see Stockification Failure message then it means you have not installed correct version of SAM on your iPhone.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Stockification-Success.jpg
Now tap on the SAM button on the top-right and then tap on the Method menu. From the list, choose By Bundle Name option.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-Bundle-Name.jpg
Now again hit the SAM option on the top-right and then tap on the Bundle menu. In this case, i will be choosing ATT_US as my iPhone is locked to AT&T.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-Choose-Carrier.jpg
Similarly navigate to SIM ID menu and choose your SIM ID. If you do not know SIM ID, just choose the first option.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-SIM-ID.jpg
Once your Method, Bundle and SIM ID has been correctly configured, tap on More Information menu. You will see ActivationState as Unactivated. Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac via USB cable and start iTunes.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-Unactivated.jpg
Now iTunes will generate legitimate activation packets for your iPhone. Make sure your PC or Mac is connected to an active internet connection because iTunes will try to authenticate your info with Apple servers. Once done, you will see your ActivationState as WildcardActivated.http://cdn.jaxov.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/SAM-WildcardActivated1.jpg
Thats it! Now your iPhone is officially activated. This will not only provide you with an improved battery life but will also enable fully working Push Notifications on your iPhone. You can check your Push Notifications using iPusher (http://jaxov.com/2011/02/how-to-check-if-push-notifications-are-working-fine-or-not/) app. If for some reason, Push Notifications are not working, use this guide (http://jaxov.com/2011/05/push-notifications-not-working-on-ios-4-3-3-after-using-sam-how-to-fix/) to fix them.

How To Fix The iPhone SIM Card Not Supported Error

http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/iphone-sim-card-not-supported.jpg

A couple of months back, I published a guide on activating your iPhone (http://www.thedailybuggle.com/enable-push-notifications-jailbroken-iphone/) from an unofficial carrier using legitimate activation certificates from iTunes. This is achieved by using a jailbreak package called Subscriber Artificial Module (SAM, for short) which would benefit the user in many ways, since having legitimate activations certificates for your iPhone will not only fix push notifications (http://www.thedailybuggle.com/tags/push) and YouTube (http://www.thedailybuggle.com/tags/youtube) issues, it also improves battery (http://www.thedailybuggle.com/tags/battery) life. SAM is free and works for a lot of people.

The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported

A few of our readers have since complained that iTunes refuses to recognize their SIM card since they’ve used SAM. The error they received was “The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported”. Apparently, they’re not the only ones – this ‘iPhone SIM card not supported’ error has been associated with those who activated their iPhones using SAM for a while now and luckily, there is a fix available. In this article, I’ll explain how to work around iPhone SIM card not supported error when using SAM.
iPhone SIM card not supported error

http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/simcardinvalid_thumb.jpg

Before we begin, let me give a brief recap of what the iPhone SIM card not supported error is and why. Some users receive the error “The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported” while activating their iPhone 4/3GS/3G on iOS 4.x.x with SAM. This error arises because SAMPrefsdepend on the original carrier on of the iPhone, and not on the ICCID or IMSI of the inserter SIM card. Hence, the user needs to follow a slightly different approach towards activation to successfully using SAM.

Getting around the ‘iPhone SIM card not supported’ error

First, you need to check the Model number of your iPhone. On Springboard, go to Settings >> General >> About and look for Model information.

http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_1339_thumb.png
Search for your Model number in Google to find out the official carrier of your iPhone, and hence the network to which the phone is locked. Note down this information.

If you haven’t installed SAM on your phone yet, do so by following the guide here (http://www.thedailybuggle.com/enable-push-notifications-jailbroken-iphone/). You need to select Revert Lockdown to Stock in SAM’s settings, following which you should see a Stockification Success message. A failure prompt here can result from installing an incorrect version of SAM.

http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/45758_thumb_thumb.png

Next, navigate to the main configuration panel for SAM (the first settings screen) and tap the Method menu. Select By Bundle Name in here.

http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_1336_thumb.png

Tap the SAM button in top left to go back, and tap on the Bundle option. Here, select the correct carrier and region based on your Google search of your iPhone’s model number.
http://www.thedailybuggle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_1337_thumb.png

In some cases, you may have a SIM ID menu as well, where you’ll be required to choose your SIM ID. Let the first option be the choice here (if it exists, at all).

Now, with lockdown reverted to stock and Method and Bundle Name correctly configured, go to More Information in SAM settings and ActivationState should say Unactivated. Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac and run iTunes. Legitimate activation certificates will be generated for your device, so make sure your computer has an active internet connection at this point. Once the activation process is complete, ActivationState should turn Wildcard Activated.

Solving the ‘iPhone SIM card not supported error’

That’s it. The iPhone SIM card not supported error is gone, and your phone is fully activated with genuine activation packets. This means your push notifications are fixed as well as YouTube, and you can make FaceTime calls, too – all this with an improved battery life. You may check that the push notifications are working using the free iPusher (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ipusher/id348540958?mt=8) app from the App Store.

Did this method fix the iPhone SIM card not supported error caused by SAM? Do you know of another method? If you found this article useful, please share it with your friends.
