Evil Ryu is the potential state of Ryu if he succumbs to evil forces, a sort of "What if?" What corrupted Ryu is the same essence that corrupted his master's brother Akuma.

Take Ryu, an already incredibly powerful character and give him shades of Akuma's strength and ferocity and you have a tremendous character to play with.

Evil Ryu might only exist in the Alpha series, but it was a splinter idea that made the series more fun to play.
