A normal street. All buildings are residential.
The National Library.
The Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry, popularly known as a “cigarette lighter”.
The employees of the ministry live in this building complex.
The local Tower of Pisa.
The Puppet Theater.
The largest flagpole in the world, on which the world’s largest flag hangs (confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records).
The “Soviet” District.
Old quarters are demolished, and the new ones are built in their place.
All students wear uniforms. Girls – green, boys – blue. A skullcap and a pigtail are both must-be. If you do not have a pigtail, you can buy the skullcap with the fake one.
A lot of people are engaged in cleaning the streets.
Because of the pervasive dust women are wrapped into shawls. So they are sometimes called “ninjas”.
According to the law, it’s forbidden to smoke on the streets of Ashgabat.
The Turkmen are very friendly and hospitable people. The city is completely safe. No criminals or even hooligans.
What really surprises is that there are absolutely no beggars, vagrants and other antisocial elements in the city.
The monument to Lenin.
“To the pride of Russia, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin”.
