Because of the pervasive dust women are wrapped into shawls. So they are sometimes called “ninjas”.

According to the law, it’s forbidden to smoke on the streets of Ashgabat.

The Turkmen are very friendly and hospitable people. The city is completely safe. No criminals or even hooligans.

What really surprises is that there are absolutely no beggars, vagrants and other antisocial elements in the city.
