Llega "Dante's Inferno", el videojuego inspirado en "La Divina Comedia"

Madrid, 5 feb (EFE).- "Dante's Inferno", un oscuro videojuego de acción y aventuras que acaba de salir a la venta para las consolas Xbox 360 y PlayStation 3, está inspirado en "La Divina Comedia" de Dante Alighieri.
En "Dante's Inferno", el escritor italiano ha emprender un viaje en el que combatirá los nueve círculos del infierno -el limbo, la lujuria, la gula, la codicia, la ira, la mentira, la avaricia, la herejía y la traición- con el objetivo de recuperar a su amada Beatriz de las garras del diablo.
El videojuego, obra de Electronic Arts y Visceral Games para un público mayor de 18 años, recrea nueve escenarios épicos repletos de demonios y criaturas y narra los pecados del pasado de Dante, descrito como un héroe de oscuro pasado.
"Nuestro equipo de desarrollo se empleó a fondo para crear un material que impactase estéticamente y que a la vez fuese fiel a la historia recreada en el libro", indica el productor ejecutivo del juego, Jonathan Knight, en una nota de prensa.

Dante’s Inferno is based on the medieval epic poem The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. The dark fiction gave birth to the Tuscan Italian dialect and is widely considered the work that has defined the western world’s contemporary conception of hell and purgatory. The poem tells the tale of Dante who journeys through the twisted, menacing nine circles of hell in pursuit of his beloved Beatrice. Dante’s tortured and tormented world is an ideal setting for this 3rd person action and adventure of a video game, Dante’s Inferno™.

Written in the 14th Century, The Divine Comedy was published and read aloud in Italian (unlike the Bible), thereby making the poem accessible to the mass public. The poem delivers a striking and allegorical vision of the Christian afterlife and the punishments of hell. In part one, known as Dante’s Inferno, Dante traverses all nine circles of hell; limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.
