Distant Past is a traditional Heavy Metal Band founded in Switzerland in 2002 by Adriano (bass) as a studio project, former Emerald vocalist Jvo joined in 2014, turning it into a live band.

The band produces old-fashioned heavy Metal with no traces of modern sounds or synthesizers. Pure guitars, fast pounding drums, machine gun bass and high-pitched vocals, just like in the glory days.

These swiss metalheads treat every album like a piece of art: the cover has a visual meaning and the lyrics include quotes of famous poets & are deeply rooted in classic Heavy Metal imaginary: Aliens, Ancient Civilizations, Ghosts, War, Utopian Societies, Doomsday Predictions, Religion, Fantasy and old Sci-Fi Classics, bringing "old-school" headbanging feeling with a no-nonsense approach.
