Bad Company's 1979 album. Features the hit single Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy. Contains newly remastered audio along with various outtakes and alternate takes of various tracks from the album.
Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprised of ex-
King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free. Powered by Rodgers' muscular vocals and Ralphs' blues-based guitar work, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song vanity label. Bad Company's eponymous 1974 debut was an international hit, topping the U.S. album charts and scoring with the #1 single Can't Get Enough of Your Love.
DESOLATION ANGELS: 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITION presents unreleased versions of seven album tracks. Highlights include alternate takes for "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy," "Early In The Morning" and "She Brings Me Love." Also, the version "Oh, Atlanta" included here is played at slower tempo and adds a Fender Rhodes keyboard into the mix.
In addition to alternate versions of album tracks, DESOLATION ANGELS: 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITION also features two unreleased outtakes from the sessions. The first is "Smokin' 45." This version is different from the one that appeared on the 1999 compilation, The 'Original' Bad Co. Anthology. The second outtake, "Rock Fever," has never surfaced on any Bad Company release until now.
