Metalcore
 

El metalcore es un género de fusión musical que incorpora elementos del hardcore punk con otros del heavy metal. El término es un acrónimo de metal y hardcore. La fusión del metal con el hardcore ya había existido años antes en diferentes formas, como el crossover thrash con una mayor influencia punk y el thrash metal de finales de los años 80.
El término metalcore comenzó a tener popularidad a comienzos del 2000, en donde fue acuñado el término a través de los medios de comunicación, como la revista Kerrang!, lanzando el género con un gran nivel de éxito. Las bandas de metalcore del 2000 comenzaron a tener mas influencias del death metal y el death metal melódico las que fueron llamas metalcore melódico. Las bandas más reconocidas dentro de este género son: BulletFor My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Caliban y As I Lay Dying; entre otras.
ORIGENES
El metalcore surge a finales de los años 80 en Estados Unidos como un movimiento musical underground y sin una identidad concreta. A finales de los 90 el género comenzó a tomar su forma actual, variando el nivel de influencias y matices pero teniendo una base ya formada.
CARACTERISTICAS


El género se puede describir como una fusión del heavy metal y del hardcore punk, añadiéndole rítmos más pesados, texturas variables y elementos modernos. Es también conocido el uso común de estribillos melódicos, los "breakdown", afinaciones comúnmente bajas y diferentes tipos de canto, como los guturales, gritos y voces limpias.



En este género hay muchas bandas antiguas y actuales que han conservado los elementos del hardcore como breakdowns, el mosh-dancing, la ética DIY y otros, no tomando influencia del Death metal melódico. Bandas tales como Shai Hulud, Earth Crisis, Terror o Converge.
También existe otro grupo de bandas del género que poseen una fuerte influencia post hardcore y que han eliminado elementos originales del hardcore punk (como los breakdowns y el mosh-dancing); presentando un estilo fusionado con thrash metal o death metal, pero con un propósito claramente comercial, dándole entre muchos seguidores de este género original, autonombres como popcore o metalcore comercial, citando de ejemplo a bandas como Atreyu, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, entre muchas otras .
SUBGENEROS


Últimamente las nuevas bandas han influenciado al metalcore con otros géneros, tales como el post hardcore, death metal melódico, thrash metal o groove metal, formando nuevos subgéneros. Aún así, los principales subgéneros del metalcore son:

Mathcore
El technical metalcore es mucho más caótico e irregular que el metalcore, aunque sigue siendo igual de armónico. Muchas veces llega a ser un mathcore/grindcore por la agresividad que adquiere. Las bandas más destacables son Heavy Heavy Low Low, Converge y The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Deathcore
En este subgénero se mezcla con el death metal, con distorsiones en las guitarras, la unión de voces guturales con gritos y con squeaks. Entre las bandas se pueden destacar: Knights of the Abyss, Glass Casket y The Red Chord.

Es una banda proveniente de la ciudad de Kenai (Alaska), influenciados por el post-hardcore de Quicksand, la armonía de Deftones y Glassjaw y la agresividad de Skinlab.

Se ha generado una confusión acerca del sonido de 36 Crazyfists tanto por los fans y los medios que no saben diferenciar entre estilos como el post-hardcore, metalcore, screamo y el nu metal. Ultimamente con auge del metalcore y post hardcore muchos catalogan al 36 Crazyfists actual como Metalcore debido a sus 2 últimos discos que toman influencias claras del post hardcore y algunos toques de metalcore lo cual es muy común hoy en día en las bandas nu metal acercarse a un sonido mucho más complejo y más metalero, de hecho esta más claro que decir que ninguna banda hoy en día le gusta catalogarse de algún genero, pero si se trata de comprender el sonido de 36 Crazyfists es simplemente nu-metal con influencias del post-hardcore en el "SNOW CAPPED ROMANCE" y "REST INSIDE THE FLAMES" con toques metalcore influenciandose por bandas como KILLSWITCH ENGAGE donde queda demostrado en temas ELYSIUM donde colabora con HOWARD JONES vocalista de KILLSWITCH ENGAGE y BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED y en Aurora.

Yo escucho mucho deathcore, aunque lo mio es mas el slamming gore(por el estilo de cephalotripsy,abominable putridity), el new york death metal (estilo suffocation y demas bandas que empezaron y dieron pie al slam) y otras muchas bandas tipo dying fetus,brodequin, waking the cadaver,winds of plages y muchas mas ke no terminaria en un buen rato...bueno por hay tambien un leve de hardcore y pues metal core tambien...yo y otros amigos primeros en tocar deathcore en esta ciudad eso ya como en 2003 hasta hace como 2 años que dejamos de tocar casi todos en el grupo y ya tocan es metalcore progresivo la banda se llama Entre el Karma y el Dharma, ah y tambien toque en Otra Vez en la Oscuridad (Deathcore) y en A Visperas de mi Muerte (Slamming Deathcore)...hay le dejo un enlace pa ke descargue mas musica http://disv3.blogspot.com/ si algo me dice y le paso mas enlaces y le recomiendo banditas segun su gusto que por aca se conoce bastante...llevo ya algo como 10 años escuchando este tipo de musica iniciando con The Dillinger Escape Plan que ya son viejitos...Bueno ya esta tarde y me estendi en la respuesta me jui suere :)
