Denunciante Ultra | Bush - The Art Of Survival (2022) [44.1kHz/24bit] Bush - The Art Of Survival (2022) 44.1-24 Country: UK Genre: Alternative Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 48:25 Full Size: 580.54 MB Bush hasn't sounded so vital and hungry since their '90s heyday, launching a late-era surprise attack with the towering Art of Survival. The polar opposite of 2017's Black and White Rainbows, Survival builds upon 2020's course-correcting The Kingdom and leaves it in the dust. Their best post-hiatus offering to date, the aggressive set finds frontman Gavin Rossdale and bandmates - Chris Traynor, Corey Britz, and Nik Hughes - firing on full throttle with what might end up being Bush's heaviest album ever. That passion stems from the all-too-real inspiration behind much of the lyrical content: staring down climate disaster, the corrosion of women's rights, widespread intolerance, and impending societal collapse, Rossdale channels his frustration and anxiety with the state of the planet with a heavy dose of anger. The cacophonous single "More Than Machines" rails against government control on women's bodies and the willful destruction of the planet, while the churning "Shark Bite" finds Rossdale lapsing into hopelessness with cries of "the earth is a madhouse, the planet so screwed." Amongst the rage, he injects a few touches of optimism for good measure. On the lurching "Heavy Is The Ocean," he declares, "We crack, but we don't break" as the band stomps through old-school sludge, later fighting for hope through the stoner-rock riffs and spacey production of "Human Sand." Noticeably, Rossdale's voice is starting to show signs of wear and tear, pushed to the limits on songs like "Kiss Me I'm Dead," but those cracks in his usual polished delivery make Art of Survival even more urgent and relatable. Every track here is a highlight, careening from near-metal moments such as "Identity" to the programmed beats of midtempo breathers like "Creatures of the Fire" - which could have been on The Science of Things - and "1000 Years," an atmospheric slow burn that closes the effort with gorgeous effect. Revitalized, Bush is reborn with Art of Survival, an essential late-catalog installment that re-energizes their sound with fresh tricks and newfound purpose. © Neil Z. Yeung /TiVo Cita:

Denunciante Ultra | Borealis - Illusions (2022) [44.1kHz/24bit] Borealis - Illusions (2022) 44.1-24 Country: Canada Genre: Progressive Power Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 01:02:25 Full Size: 806.32 MB A long time presence in the Canadian metal underground, Ontario's Borealis returns with their sixth studio album, Illusions. The recording is a second chapter in the concept/story begun with 2018's The Offering. The original story concerned an ancient cult using child sacrifice in hopes of issuing in a new world order. Illusion continues the story from the children's perspective. I can't tell you more about the latter as I did not receive lyrics with my digital promotional material. As you would expect, the album and concept is arranged within Borealis' signature, hard and heavy, progressive power metal. Which consists, in its foundation, of strong riffs, an assertive rhythm section, notable orchestration, blazing guitar solos, and generally melodic and harmonious vocal arrangements (although, in the mix, vocalist Matt Marinelli can seem muted). Adding to the depth and breadth of the arrangements is the contributions of composer and multi-instrumentalist Vikram Shankar, perhaps best known for his work with Redemption. His influence is across the entire album, yet quite expansive within Light Of The Sun, The Phantom Silence, My Fortress, and the softer Burning Tears which feature female vocalist Lynsey Ward. Otherwise, you'll find some rough and tumble, quite speedy, power metal with Believer and intermittently with Ashes To Rain and its chunky riffs. All this to say, Illusions finds Borealis going from strength to strength with their consistent, constant, and creative progressive power metal, made even more lavish and expansive with the orchestral and synth contributions of Redemption's Vik Shankar. Denunciante Ultra | The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun (2022) [96kHz/24bit] The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun (2022) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Hard Rock,Alternative Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 35:02 Full Size: 733.68 MB The Cult stand as one of few bands among their fellow travelers of the mid-'80s alternative-rock boom willing to indulge completely in whatever sonic twists and turns suit them, attempting neither to jump trends or evoke nostalgia. Each new album release over the last 25 years has offered its own sense of "what are they going to be doing now?" anticipation. To be sure, the Cult have very much worked in their own corner of the atmospheric, riff-laden heavy-rock realm but the ways in which the core duo of Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy revisit that corner for each album often yield surprises, which continues with Under the Midnight. Dominated by slow-burn tempos, exploratory guitar lines, and a string-laden ethereality, much of the material has an appropriately atemporal sense of endless twilight. (Apparently Ian Astbury found inspiration from a summertime music festival in Finland where he was wowed by the gentle, mystical vibes.) As such, Under the Midnight never gets too fiery or too melancholy, sticking instead to an ephemeral middle ground, somewhere between heaven and earth as it were. In lesser hands, these songs would certainly come off as plodding, turgid, and indulgent, but there's a surprising lightness, especially on "Knife Through Butterfly Heart" and "A Cut Inside." Sure, a dramatic cut like "Outer Heaven" almost shifts into second gear, but for the most part, everything is content to lay low and slow. Duffy's guitar work makes room for lush string sections (both live and synthesized) throughout, and Astbury is in maximum woo-woo mode, earnestly delivering his wonderfully batty lyrics. Between those vocals, the string sections, and the guitar-as-flourish approach to these spacey songs, it's a stretch to refer to anything here as "hard rock," until you run across a gleefully dramatic tune like "Impermanence," which somehow finds a way to split the difference between Dreamtime-era and Ceremony-era Cult. It's the rare moment that sounds like the Cult may have briefly glanced backward, but stands in such contrast to the rest of the album that it makes the band's continued forward motion that much more appreciable. © Jason Ferguson/Qobuz Cita:
