It's worth noting that the darker aspects of the artist's life are completely glossed over. The soundtrack for Antoine Fuqua's film is a compilation of thirteen tracks that function as a kind of fast-forward through his life. It begins with the soulful sounds of the early 1970s, such as the ballad "I'll Be There" (the Jackson 5's biggest hit) and the cover of Smokey Robinson's "Who's Lovin' You." As for "Ben," it appeared on the soundtrack of Phil Karlson's eponymous horror film. Released in 1979, the disco-funk track "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was written and co-produced by Jackson himself, marking the beginning of his independence. Then came the pivotal Thriller in 1982. Produced by Quincy Jones, the album is one of the most celebrated in music history, featuring iconic tracks like "Billie Jean," "Beat It," and "Thriller." The soundtrack concludes with a remastered version of "Bad" (1987), whose music video, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Wesley Snipes, is still remembered.
