Pero a pesar de la pobreza y la desesperación de Barrio Triste - Barrio triste - el fotógrafo Juan Arredondo encontró destellos de esperanza entre las personas que lo habitan.

Durante tres años, el 35-años de edad, el fotógrafo ha documentado la vida en Medellín, una vez la ciudad más peligrosa del mundo, donde los señores de la droga y los grupos paramilitares luchan por el poder.

Una vez se nombró al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, pero ahora los mecánicos y trabajadores del sexo comercial en sus calles manchadas de grasa, y su vez a un grupo paramilitar Los Convivir de protección.

Pero a pesar de la pobreza y la delincuencia, Arredondo se mantiene optimista de su futuro.

'Barrio Triste sirve una ventana al pasado de violencia que una vez plagado la ciudad de Medellín. Me recuerda a un pasado que dejé atrás y las dificultades de los ciudadanos de esta ciudad y de este país han sufrido durante muchos años ", dijo.
