Muchos criticos de videojuegos se quejan de la falta de innovacion en la industria. Sin embargo, despues de ver Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (CoD4) en accion, cualquiera puede darse cuenta de que los juegos no necesariamente necesitan innovar para entretener. A pesar de que CoD4 se mantiene absolutamente apegado a los parametros establecidos en las entregas anteriores de la serie, la entrega es un festin de accion militar, lleno de escenas muy bien guiadas de principio a fin lo que, sumado al desarrollo mas bien lineal de la historia, permitio a los disenadores crear una experiencia de juego finamente trabajada que incluye las batallas mas explosivas que se hayan visto hasta ahora en una entrega de accion belica.
