La deuda externa de Colombia, al mes de septiembre de 2007, asciende a 43.551 millones de dólares, lo que corresponde al 27.5 por ciento del Producto Interno Bruto del país, según lo dio a conocer el Banco de la República.
La cifra dada a conocer supera en 3.397 millones de dólares el valor de la deuda externa registrada hace un año.
La deuda privada fue la que presentó mayor crecimiento con un incremento de 1.834 millones de dólares situándose en 28.085 millones de dólares. Por su parte la pública aumento en 1.563 millones de dólares, lo que la ubico en 15.466 millones.
