Sinopsis

Sam Flynn, un joven rebelde de 27 años, vive atormentado por la misteriosa desaparición de su padre, Kevin Flynn, un hombre que fue reconocido como el máximo visionario de tecnología del mundo. Sam sigue la pista de una extraña señal procedente de la antigua sala de juegos recreativos de Flynn. Acude allí porque sabe que sólo la ha podido enviar su padre y acaba absorbido en la red digital en la que su padre lleva atrapado 20 años. Con la ayuda de la intrépida guerrera Quorra, padre e hijo se embarcan en un viaje de vida o muerte a través de un universo digital visualmente asombroso.
