SINOPSIS
Un equipo de submarinistas de cuevas subacuáticas se embarca en una peligrosa expedición por la red de cuevas más extensa, hermosa e inaccesible del mundo. Cuando una tormenta tropical los obliga a internarse en las profundidades de las cuevas, deberán enfrentarse a las embravecidas aguas, el mortífero terreno y el creciente pánico, para tratar de encontrar una posible salida (que ninguno de ellos conoce) que los conduzca hasta el mar.

El experto submarinista Frank McGuire (Richard Roxburgh) lleva meses explorando las cuevas de Esa’ala, en el Pacífico Sur. Sin embargo, cuando una riada les corta la salida, el equipo principal de Frank —que incluye a su hijo de 17 años, Josh (Rhys Wakefield) y al financiero Carl Hurley (Ioan Gruffudd)— se ve obligado a cambiar radicalmente de plan.

El equipo —en el que también figuran la novia de Carl, Victoria (Alice Parkinson), y a Crazy George (Dan Wyllie)— ve cómo sus provisiones van escaseando cada vez más y no tendrán más remedio que intentar abrirse paso por un auténtico laberinto submarino para tratar de hallar una salida. No tardarán mucho en tener que hacer frente a la inevitable pregunta: ¿Podrán sobrevivir, o quedarán atrapados para siempre?.
