Frankly, we were unsure how this new release would sound after the unfortunate and untimely death of Mr. Vazquez' partner on their first release, pianist Martin Arroyo. Mr. Arroyo would be proud. Picking up where he left off is pianist and arranger Ricky Gonzalez, who does a fine job, indeed. His arrangements, and those of Louie Cruz and Richie Viruet are fine interpretations of classic salsa compositions from the likes of Chamaco Ramirez, Tite Curet Alonso and Ismael Rivera.
