El cantante de Burzum "Count Grishnackh" Varg Quisling Larssøn Vikernes es uno de los acusados de quema de iglesias, también mató a uno de los integrantes de Mayhem, hoy día ya salió después de 16 años

El 6 de junio de 1992 la iglesia de madera de Fantoft, uno de los tesoros arquitectónicos de Noruega que fechaban desde el siglo XII, fue quemada. Antes de enero de 1993 los incendios habían ocurrido por lo menos en otras siete iglesias noruegas. Vikernes fue declarado culpable en varios de estos casos: el atentado de incendiar la iglesia de Storetveit en Bergen, la iglesia de Åsane en Bergen, la iglesia de Skjold en Vindafjord, la capilla de Holmenkollen en Oslo y de la muerte de un bombero. Así mismo, fue acusado por el delito de incendiar la iglesia de Fantoft en las afueras de Bergen, aunque los miembros del jurado no llegaron a declararle culpable. Los jueces consideraron esto como un error del jurado, pero rechazaron revocar el caso entero. Las últimas apelaciones al caso fueron rechazadas.

La prensa demonizó a Inner Circle y al conjunto de estos pioneros del grupos noruegos de black metal, entre ellos Mayhem, Darkthrone y Emperor, formados por jóvenes que se conocían entre sí, algunos de ellos criminales o suicidas. Desde su celda en las afueras de Oslo, Varg declaró en una entrevista que no quería ser más asociado con el black metal.

Alrededor de 1992-1998, 52 iglesias fueron quemadas, 15.000 tumbas fueron profanadas y sus cementerios fueron pintados con símbolos satánicos por toda Noruega; entre las estructuras religiosas más importantes que fueron incendiadas fue la iglesia medieval Fantoft, cerca de Bergen, quemada el 6 de junio de 1992, fue sospechoso Varg Vikernes pero no se encontraron pruebas, pero si lo hallarían culpable de los incendios provocados a las capillas Holmenkollen y Skjold, una fotografía de lo que quedo de la estructura Fantoft Stave se convirtió en la portada de su álbum Aske.

Los proyectos de Inner Circle pudieron haber llegado muy lejos ya que algunos integrantes querían sacrificar a sacerdotes en sus iglesias antes de prenderles fuego, pero nunca se llevó a cabo, solo fueron sacrificados algunos animales. También se informó de un incendio en Suecia, de la cual se sospecha de la agrupación Abruptum pero los cargos fueron retirados por falta de pruebas.

Para coincidir con la publicación de su primer álbum de estudio De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Vikernes y Aarseth habían conspirado para hacer estallar la Catedral de Nidaros, que aparece como portada del álbum. Pero el asesinato de Aarseth por Vikernes en agosto de 1993 puso fin a este plan, y a la vez retrasó el lanzamiento del álbum. Los músicos Samoth, Faust y Jørn Inge Tunsberg también fueron condenados por incendios provocados a iglesias.

Metaleros ingresan a lista de especies amenazadas



Una sorpresa traía la actualización semestral que hace la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza (UICN) de la lista de especies amenazadas. Junto al manatí pardo, al mico ahuyamero y al pavo de páramo aparecen nada menos que los metaleros.
Esta decisión al parecer habría obedecido a que el último conteo de ejemplares fue asombrosamente bajo, el cual confirma una aterradora tendencia a la baja en las poblaciones de dicha especie que habría comenzado a finales de la década de 1990 con la llegada del grunge a los oídos juveniles.
A la anterior se sumarían otras causas que explicarían el declive. Entre ellas, el alto número de lesiones testiculares de los machos en los diferentes pogos generando cuadros de esterilidad recurrentes; una cierta vibración particular de ciertas vertientes contemporáneas del género que derivaron en Nu Metal (una extraña mezcla entre música urbana y metal, olvidando aquellos recordados solos de guitarra y estruendosas baterías) que estarían, por razones que todavía son motivo de estudio, alterando y volviendo extremadamente irregular la ovulación de las hembras. Por último, algunos apuntan al cambio climático.
Y es que cambios en patrones de vientos habrían desviado los aromas provenientes de las cabelleras de los machos que solían atraer a las hembras hacia manadas de hipsters y al subgénero de los lumbersexuales, llevando a inéditos e indeseados cruces entre especies cuyo resultado son individuos estériles, como las mulas.
El caso es que atrás quedaron los tiempos en los que las guitarras de Thin Lizzy, las melenas glamurosas de Poison y los temidos sonidos de Cradle of filth hacían estremecer a las hembras metaleras. Ahora estos sacudones tienen su costo, a lo que se suma el que su constitución física, de pobres curvas y paupérrimo derriere -según se lee en en documento-, obstaculiza fecundaciones por parte de machos de otras especies. Como si todo lo anterior fuera poco, el alto consumo de alcohol de esta población y la poca producción de feromonas reduce aún más las posibilidades de un apareamiento exitoso.
La UICN sentenció que, de no tomarse medidas para la conservación del homo metalicum, podría llegar a su desaparición, tal y como ya ha ocurrido con por lo menos cuatro subespecies tropicales de emos. De ahí que desde ya se contemplen medidas. Estas incluyen la designación de una serie de sementales de sólida genética -entre los cuáles, se rumora, podría estar Juanes, quién nunca ha renegado de su pasado- que ayuden a constituir una reserva de material genético y la posibilidad de constituirse como minoría. Esta última es la que más atrae a sus miembros, pues les permitiría acceder no solo curules en el Congreso y a programas de medianoche en el Canal Institucional sino que permitiría generar alianzas para en el futuro conformar un sólido bloque LGBTIM.
