Dentro de un barrio marcado por las drogas y la desesperación: La vida en las duras calles de la ciudad natal de Pablo Escobar, donde los drogadictos y prostitutas luchan por sobrevivirEs uno de los barrios más peligrosos de Colombia, un flechazo lleno de gente y mal estado de los traficantes de drogas, prostitutas y la lucha por la supervivencia sin hogar.
Pero a pesar de la pobreza y la desesperación de Barrio Triste - Barrio triste - el fotógrafo Juan Arredondo encontró destellos de esperanza entre las personas que lo habitan.

Él quedó fascinado con Barrio Triste tras reunirse con una madre de cuatro hijos que buscaron refugio en el barrio después de un grupo paramilitar mató a su marido.
En Medellín, la ciudad natal del famoso drogas Pablo Escobar, limpiar su acto, Barrio Triste seguía siendo un campo de batalla de otros distribuidores.
Una vez se nombró al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, pero ahora los mecánicos y trabajadores del sexo comercial en sus calles manchadas de grasa, y su vez a un grupo paramilitar Los Convivir de protección.
Pero a pesar de la pobreza y la delincuencia, Arredondo se mantiene optimista de su futuro.
