Blodsrit ist eine Black-Metal-Band aus Schweden. Die Band wurde 1998 mit der aktuellen Besetzung gegründet und ist seit 2006 bei Miriquidi Productions unter Vertrag. Die Band selber bezeichnet ihren Stil als „Old-school Black Metal“.




Die Band wurde 1998 von „Kettil“ und „Naahz“ zunächst unter dem Namen „Skuggrike“ gegründet. Unter diesem Namen nahmen sie nur eine Demo auf und trennten sich dann anschließend. Nun stand „Naahz“ allein da, nannte die Band in „Blodsrit“ um und machte im Alleingang weiter. 1999 nahm er die Demo „Dödens Sändebud“ auf. Später kamen die Mitglieder der aktuellen Besetzung hinzu. Die Herkunft des Namens gründet, so Sänger Naahz, auf einem alten heidnischen Ritual, „bei dem Blut geopfert wurde, um bessere Ernten oder ein glücklicheres Liebesleben zu erreichen.“ [1] Der Name sei wegen seiner düsteren Wirkung gewählt worden, heißt es ferner von Naahz.
