Cardboard sleeve reissue from Angel featuring the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (fully compatible with standard CD players) and the 2010 remastering. Part of a six-album Angel SHM-CD cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring the albums "Angel," "Helluva Band," "On Earth As It Is In Heaven," "White Hot," "Bad Publicity," "Live Without A Net, ". Includes a serial numbered label card which replicates the US LP sleeve design. Also includes description and lyrics.
The American team ?Angel? was founded in 1975 Punky Meadows (guitar), Frank Dima (vocals), Greg Dzhiuffria (keyboards), Mickey Jones (bass) and Barry Brandt (drums). As usual, the band started their career with appearances in various clubs. At one of these performances happened to be Gene Simmons ?Kiss?, which the guys are so pleased that he is at 3 am call President ?Casablanca Records? with the requirement to conclude with the "Angels" contract. Tom had no choice but to follow the whim of Simmons and ?Angel? started work on their debut album. The release took place in October 1975 and was subsequently recognized as the best work of the group. Especially popular song ?Tower?, whose team opened concerts for a long time. The musical style of the team journalists dubbed as "the grand pomp rock."
By the time the second album was picked up and the stage image, when musicians dressed in all white. After the release in 1976 ?Helluva Band? ?Angels" was named the best new band of the American rock magazine ?Circus?, leaving behind ?Heart? and ?Boston?. By working on the third disc was invited by producer Eddie Kramer, before that ye strive together with ?Kiss?. The album had a more commercial sound and therefore hope big sales did not materialize. In order to somehow fix the matter was taken a course to bring to perfection stage image, the equipment is now also tried to introduce a white tones to create something unusual concerts invited a famous illusionist Johnny Kona. He came up with a clever trick with the appearance and disappearance of the musicians on stage.
But still in the camp ?Angel? was restless - bass player fell out with the rest of the team, and he had to drive. Despite the fact that the people went about their shows quite active, ?White Hot? still failed and has not reached the expected level of sales.
In 1978, an attempt was made ??to record video ?Angel Live At Midnight?, but this project remained unrealized . Studio album ?Sinful? also was not successful, as well as the live album ?Live Without A Net?. Looking at this situation first dumped Robinson, and after him, Frank Dima decided to pursue a solo career. After several attempts to replace them ?Angel? was dissolved. Musicians took up each their own thing, but in the years from time to time have made ??feeble attempts to revive the group. The most successful of these was held in 1998, when Dima and Brandt used the sign ?Angel? in the company of guitarist Richie Ray and bassist Leo Borreo by writing the album ?In the beginning?. Incidentally Meadows and Robinson also participated in the creation of multiple tracks.
