Descubiertos por Jon Bon Jovi, Cinderella es una de las pocas bandas que comenzó su carrera musial a mediados de los '80 con un estilo metal-glam y terminó en los '90 con un estilo más grunge. Este grupo es una combinación de grandes músicos tanto en directo como en el estudio.

El grupo en sus principios estaba formado por Tom Keifer y Eric Brittingham, los dos de Philadelphia y más tarde se les unieron Jeff LaBar procedente de New Jersey y Fred Coury de Nueva York. Todos habían anteriormente en otras bandas. Así sacaron su primer disco: "Night Songs". En su segundo álbum, "Long Cold Winter", se les une como teclista Rick Criniti. En las giras de estos dos discos actuaron de teloneros de bandas como Bon Jovi, AC/DC, David Lee Roth y Judas Priest.

En 1993 Coury dejó la banda para unirse a Arcade y fué reemplazado Kevin Valentine. Pero durante la grabación de su quinto álbum "Still Climbing" el recién llegado Valentine abandonó Cinderella siendo sustituido por Ray Brinker. Finalmente este disco fue sacado en 1994. La MTV que había apoyado los anteriores discos del grupo consideró que las canciones de "Still Climbing" no habían evolucionado y seguían sonando como el hard rock de los '80. Lo que MTV dijo al grupo fue: "No os molestéis en hacer vídeos, porque no los vamos a poner". (...)

En 1995 el grupo se separó y Keifer y Brinker trabajaron juntos y Brittingham estuvo escribiendo canciones con Marshall Coleman. Después de un concierto benéfico en 1996 que reunió a los cuatro principales miembros de la banda Cinderella sacó el recopilatorio "Once Upon A...." (1997). Más tarde sacaron dos discos en directo, el más reciente de ellos es "Live at the Key Club" de 1999.
