La Habana.- Los artistas cubanos de la percusión Alexis Herrera y Elio Rodríguez fueron galardonados con el Echo Klassik correspondiente al 2006, el más importante premio de la Discografía en Alemania.
Ambos músicos, unido al trío alemán Klazz Brothers ocuparon el primer lugar con el album "Mozart Meets Cuba", un tributo a Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart en el aniversario 250 de su nacimiento.
Los especialistas recordaron que es la segunda ocasión en que los cubanos acceden al mencionado reconocimiento, lo cual constituye un aval a la calidad de la interpretación.
En ese sentido, recordaron que fueron nominados al Grammy 2005 Best Classical Album Crossover, unido a la presencia de su música en las bandas sonoras de las películas "Colateral", protagonizada por Tom Cruise y "Hitch", con Will Smith.
La agrupación musical ganó su primer premio Echo en el 2003 por la producción del disco Classics meet Cuba, en ambas ocasiones en la categoría música clásica sin fronteras.
