The Darkness II ofrece un relato brutal y personal, poniendo a los jugadores en la piel de Jakie Estacado, cabeza de una familia mafiosa de Nueva York y portador de la Oscuridad ? una antigua y despiadada fuerza de caos y destrucción.
The Darkness II es la secuela del título que vendió un millón de unidades en 2007, The Darkness, y presenta una nueva mecánica de combate a través del Quad-Wielding, que permitirá a los jugadores acuchillar, agarrar y lanzar objetos y enemigos con su Brazo del Demonio, mientras abre fuego con dos armas. El juego hace uso de la oscuridad versus la claridad, con una profunda y retorcida narración y empuñando una violencia estilística que es visualizada a través de unos gráficos de estilo noir dibujados a mano, que lo mantienen fiel a sus orígenes del comic.
