Hablar de Alta Gracia implica remitirse, entre otras cosas innegables, al lugar que vio crecer a Ernesto “Che” Guevara. En esta pequeña ciudad cordobesa, se forjó el carácter del hombre que en 1959, junto con Fidel Castro y otros guerrilleros, llevaron a cabo la Revolución Cubana.
Desde sus 4 años de edad y hasta sus 16, el pequeño “Tete”- como le llamaban por aquel entonces – vivió en esta ciudad y logró mitigar los efectos del asma que tenía gracias al clima seco de la región. Pudo realizar las actividades de los niños de su edad, cultivando amistades y gozando de la libertad que tan hondo caló en el espíritu de quien fuera el “Che”.
En honor a este hombre devenido en mito, la ciudad posee un interesante museo enclavado en el lugar que una vez fue su casa. En su interior, se rinde culto a su memoria, a su vida, al niño, al joven, al amigo y a la figura universal revolucionaria.
