COTONOU...Capital administrativa de Benin y puerto de aguas profundas, situado al oeste de la salida del lago Nokoue. Cuenta con buenos enlaces de transporte, locales e internacionales, y sus florecientes industrias, que tienen su base en un suburbio oriental de la salida del lago, producen aceite de palmera, cemento, jabón, muebles, cerveza y refrescos embotellados; también se ensamblan automóviles. La ciudad fue fundada por los franceses a principios del presente siglo y cuenta con muchos hoteles, restaurantes, establecimientos de ropa elegante y mercados pintorescos. También tiene hermosas playas, pero las corrientes ocultas hacen peligrosa la práctica de la natación. Su población es de 488.000 habitantes.

Estas ultimas fotos parecen tomadas en Cartagena.
La situación de pobreza e informalidad de Cartagena, que no la muestran los medios, es bastante grave y nó dista mucho de estos países africanos
