Eve Arnold nació el 21 abril de 1912 en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, y ha sido una de las mujeres que mayor reconocimiento ha obtenido en relación al mundo de la fotografía.
Su interés por este noble oficio comenzó en el 46 mientras trabajaba en Nueva York. Cuatro años después, ya se estaba dedicando en pleno y logró inmortalizar a varios personajes de gran importancia política y social, incluida Marilyn Monroe, a la que en 2005 dedicó un monográfico de fotos inéditas en la Galería Halcyon de Londres.
