La fortaleza Mikhaylovka fue construida en el norte de la bahía de Sebastopol. Esta construcción ha sobrevivido a la guerra de Crimea y la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Recientemente, se ha convertido en un museo.
Fue construida entre 1843 a 1846. Sus paredes son de 1,8m de espesor y después de la guerra de Crimea fue un almacén y en 1920 fue utilizado como una unidad de formación de artilleros. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial fue utilizada como un punto fuerte para la defensa de la ciudad.
