Sinopsis:

Transcurre en los albores de la I Guerra Mundial. Es una poderosa historia de descubrimiento sexual e intelectual basada en acontecimientos reales a partir de la turbulenta relación entre el joven psiquiatra Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender), su mentor Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) y Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley). A este trío se añade Otto Gross (Vincent Cassel), un paciente libertino decidido a traspasar todos los límites. Esta exploración de la sensualidad, de la ambición y del engaño llega a su momento cumbre cuando Jung, Freud y Sabina se reúnen antes de separarse definitivamente y cambiar la dirección del pensamiento moderno.
