CIRCA SURVIVE

Es una banda indie/experimental/alternativa de Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, EEUU). Fue formada por Anthony Green después de desintegrarse Saosin, su anterior grupo.
Green, mientras estaba en Saosin, sentía la necesidad de estar en un grupo en su ciudad natal, Philadelphia. Después de un año de estar en Saosin, Green voló a Philadelphia a una operación dental y a visitar a su amigo, Colin Frangicetto, cuya banda, This Day Forward, se había separado recientemente, habiendo estado en escena por siete años. Green decidió que quería dejar Saosin y empezar un nuevo grupo con Frangicetto, tan pronto como acabara la gira. Green estaba en el aeropuerto, cuando decidió que quería empezar el proyecto en ese mismo momento. Al siguiente día, Green y Frangicetto escribieron la canción Handshakes at Sunrise.

En 1975 nací en Santiago de Chile, hijo de Oscar Vega y Ana Maria Encina, ambos pintores. Me crié en plena dictadura militar, desarrolle conciencia y talento artístico. En 1987 comencé a presentarme acompañado de guitarra y mi cantar rebelde en peñas folclóricas y manifestaciones de repudio al régimen militar. En 1988 hice mi primer proyecto Reggae llamado “GANIMIDES”, grabando casets y tocando por Santiago. En 1989 fui bajista de la primera banda Reggae de Chile, llamada “NAYABINGHI”, donde cantaban Red I y Selector Power. En 1991 comencé con un proyecto solista, probando diferentes estilos musicales. En 1992 estudie bajo en la escuela de la S.C.D. con el profesor Pablo Lecaros. En 1993 comencé a incursionar en el Rap con un proyecto llamado “PENTOTAL SODIKO”, presentándonos en plazas de las poblaciones de Santiago. En 1995 junto con mi hermano Cristian hicimos “HERMANOS TANAKA”, fusionando Rap, Dub poetry y Dance hall, fuimos el primer grupo de Reggae en Chile que se presenta cantando sobre pistas. En 1998 me integro como tecladista y cantante de la banda “VIBRAZION SUDAKA”, ese mismo año con Hermanos Tanaka realizamos junto con Dj Patua una gira por el norte de Chile, estrenando el Sound Sistem en Chile. En 1999 nace mi hija Mia, también grabamos con la banda Hermanos Tanaka el disco “mate y ganja”. Con Hermanos Tanaka participamos en el festival tributo a Bob Marley “Natural Mistic Festival” junto a The Wailers, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Gondwana entre muchos. En el 2001 nace mi segundo hijo Gaspar, también realicé un proyecto solista llamado “El Hombre que canta hablando”. En el 2002 nace mi tercer hijo Marcus, ese año hice mi primer disco solista “La explosión”. En el 2003 participé en el festival “Vibraciones de América” en México junto a Gondwana, Los cafres, Fidel, Antidoping entre muchos. Ese año grabé mi segundo álbum “Un Destino”. En el 2004 nuevamente soy invitado al festival Vibraciones de América junto con Sister Carol, I Jah Bones, Cultura Profética, Big Mountain entre varios, además de realizar diferentes presentaciones en México y tan bien en Perú. Ese año sale mi tercer disco solista “Ser Libre”. En el 2005 voy por cuarta vez a cantar a Lima, Perú, junto a Wadada. Ese año participo en los compilados “Guerreros Incansables” y “Voces Concientes” editados en México y España respectivamente. En el 2006 viajo nuevamente a México para realizar una gira por ese país, presentando un EP llamado “Promo 2006”. En Agosto de este año se edita mi cuarto álbum “Solo Negocios” junto con Duboratorio R.C. Actualmente me encuentro realizando presentaciones acompañado por la banda Sonido Negro, tan bien en el Sound Sistem “Inity conection”. Además estoy grabando un quinto disco para principios del 2007. Tercer álbum de la banda de heavy metal Iron Maiden. Tras la marcha de su antiguo vocalista, Paul Di'Anno, que abandonó el grupo en 1981 por disputas en el grupo. Así pues, se incorporó el vocalista definitivo: Bruce Dickinson.

El resultado del disco es bastante bueno para la banda: "Run to the Hills" o "The Number of the Beast" fueron grandes éxitos para la banda.

Pero además, el disco contiene otras buenas canciones como "22 Acacia Avenue", "Children of the Damned" (la única balada del disco) o "Hallowed be thy name", una de sus canciones más conocidas; comienza lenta donde cada vez se accelera el tempo, con solos de guitarra de Dave Murray y Adrian Smith respectivamente. Además, Bruce Dickinson tiene la ocasión de utilizar diversos registros vocales en esta canción.

Con todo esto, este disco está considerado como uno de los mejores discos de Heavy Metal, siendo además un "clásico" en la discografía del grupo, donde sus canciones más famosas son interpretadas en sus giras.

Antes de la edición de Piece of Mind se produjo un cambio más en la formación de la agrupación. Clive Burr abandonó a la banda por problemas personales, y fue reemplazado por el ex-baterista de Trust? Nicko McBrain, cuya intervención en el futuro cuarto álbum de su nuevo grupo dejó constancia de sus cualidades como instrumentista, a la vez que añadió una nueva dimensión al sonido de la banda.

El 16 de mayo de 1983 se edita el álbum Piece of Mind, (literalmente Pedazo de mente,""((Acto de locura))"" se pronuncia igual que Peace of Mind - paz mental) Con este álbum consiguieron discos de oro y de platino en varios países.
