Brant (Jason Statham), un duro y políticamente incorrecto detective de la policía de Londres, da una lección a un grupo de pandilleros sobre por qué no hay que robar el coche de otro y después amenaza con matarles a todos. Una versión algo tergiversada del suceso, en la que los pandilleros parecen inocentes víctimas, llega a oídos del periodista de sucesos y enemigo mortal de Brant, Harold Dunlop (David Morrissey), que lo publica en la prensa nacional y consigue que Brant tenga que vérselas con el psicólogo de la policía, el Dr. Leonard (Bill Champion).
